Wednesday March 13 at 5pm, just connected my Tesla but no juice yet. Meter is showing 0 k-wh of usage. Does not show up on Tesla map yet either. A waiting game.
Very exciting…they have finally broke ground and the building permit is active with expiration of Mar 2025. Installing underground conduit. No equipment delivered to site yet. I will start checking daily.
As of January 19th…no construction activity. Checking every Friday. Even the building permit is still expired. From the Tesla web site: ”opening in 2024”. We shall see.
I talked with a contact at Florida Power and Light…he said large pad mounted transformers are taking anywhere from 12-18 months to procure. So this indeed may be the reason the construction is not happening quickly.
In the city of Destin, only a Destin city building permit is required…which has already been approved for this Supercharger. Unincorporated parts of the county require a county permit.
June 30…no activity. Tesla Find Us web page show “Target opening in 2024”. Something else I didn’t notice was this site was “Q1 2023 Supercharger Voting Winner”. They were fast to pull the permit but do not appear to be in a hurry to put in service.
May 15…still no sign of construction starting. Last week I tried contacting the electrical contractor on the permit, Rack Electric out of south Florida, to ask about a potential start date, but have not received any response yet.
Sorry, nothing yet. As of April 16;2023 there is no sign of construction activity anywhere in the Winn-Dixie area. I will stop by at least once a week and let you all know when I see something.
One thing I did notice when I was there...the existing Tesla charger cables are not long enough to reach my M3 at the parking spots in front of the posts. You can see the bumper blocks are moved out.
