Tesla Solar in Houston & Surrounding Area’s

Pretty sure my broker tried State Farm as well... hmm. I have some good data to go back to him with now, thank you both. Thanks for the roofing rec! Will be sure to mention you when we're ready to move forward.

Tesla Solar in Houston & Surrounding Area’s

Grand, thanks, I'm with Progressive! No options were given, just that Progressive don't cover solar panels at all... I think a follow up call is in order.

Tesla Solar in Houston & Surrounding Area’s

@ChrisF42 and @Jones1 : Who is your homeowners insurance through? My broker couldn't find anybody that would insure the panels. Also, Chris, can you share the name of your roofer? I had a quote for a replacement roof recently and the company said they wouldn't touch the solar panels; I would...

    No Solar being generated

The Inverter was finally replaced yesterday, same SolarEdge as before. Back to producing. That was a long time without : May 5 to August 4

    No Solar being generated

That’s great to hear. Glad you got sorted. A relief to see those numbers again I’m sure. The new gateway for me resolved that issue of no server, no signal. No sign of an inverter for me yet.

Thanks, hopefully mine will be similar.

    No Solar being generated

Update: I received a new gateway, which resolved both of the connection issues (No Signal, No Server). The technician confirmed that the inverter had failed and he would request a new one. I've just received an email from Tesla that states: So disappointing. I wonder if the Texas sun didn't...

    No Solar being generated

4-8 weeks :( I'm already 4 weeks out as I was away when it failed, so possibly 3 months without solar during peak production. Super.

    No Solar being generated

I missed a step in the troubleshooting, moving the switch on the inverter to 0; I then see the blinking red and green lights, so this confirms inverter failure. Worth checking yours if it's the same issue. Tesla have ordered a new "Gateway Monitoring Device", as nothing I do will bring the Neo...

    No Solar being generated

Not so far, but I have a Tesla tech visit scheduled for June 14. It's looking like inverter failure, even though I have a green light.

    No Solar being generated

    - Neo Gateway - SolarEdge HD Wave with SetAPP - 2 x Powerwalls My solar generation (viewed in the app) has dropped to 0. My Powerwalls are still working and grid and home power consumption is displayed. The inverter has a single green LED lit, so the system is producing energy. I've followed...

12.24kW, 2 PW Install in TX

There's very little shade on my roof, fortunately. Just a roof overhang late in the day.

12.24kW, 2 PW Install in TX

Thanks, somehow missed that. The 11.2 must have been momentarily as the maximum using the cursor is *only* 10.8. Yes, very happy with the production figures :) Will be interesting to see what we look like in May.

12.24kW, 2 PW Install in TX

That's great info, thanks. Still a toss up between Reliant and MP2. I have a $150 cancellation fee with Reliant, so it my make sense to stay with them, switch to their solar plan and monitor the costs.

12.24kW, 2 PW Install in TX

Update: got PTO last Thursday after reminding Tesla that the install had been completed, Centerpoint were quick to approve (2 days) once done. I never did trial it before PTO :) Happy with the production figures so far (56.9kWh so far today), I saw a peak of 11.2kW at one time (is there a way...

Powerwall update to 1.49 trashed my network connection [Tesla network was down]

I don't have PTO yet, so not charging my 2 PWs ... after the update, the reserve power jumped from 0% to 92% o_O .. now at 91%. I suspect this is incorrect:confused:

12.24kW, 2 PW Install in TX

No, they didn't add anything extra to the panel. But yes, I do have the Backup Gateway 2 and there is a breaker for the inverter, which is off. OK, understand now. Flip that breaker, turn on the inverter and we're good to go? (Bearing in mind step "0", as mentioned by wjgjr).

12.24kW, 2 PW Install in TX

Got it, yes step 0 makes sense, thanks. Yes, they left everything switched on, except the inverter. Just paranoid about sending anything to the grid!

12.24kW, 2 PW Install in TX

Great, thank you. The PWs are switched on already and in Backup-only mode. There isn't a new breaker for the inverter, so that would leave simply turning on the inverter.

12.24kW, 2 PW Install in TX

The original quote from Tesla was for 4, but I thought that was excessive. I'll be going with a Reliant Simple Solar Sell Back Plan, which I believe is net metering, as cridinger82 said, so unless I've misunderstood, we should be ok. Agree about the mounting! The installer did ask where I...

No, they don't look damaged. Thanks for the advice.

12.24kW, 2 PW Install in TX

Thanks! Yes, my first post, learned a lot here already. I'm reluctant to turn it on but certainly with looking into. Is there a step by step guide? Appreciate it's probably only a couple of steps, but wouldn't want to get it wrong. Smudges, not sure what they are. Think a ladder will need to...

12.24kW, 2 PW Install in TX

Hi there I had a 36 panel, 12.24kW solar and 2 Powerwalls installed recently. Still waiting for PTO (Centerpoint, expected Oct 16), but thought I'd share the install and ask a question about the panels. I'm west of Houston, TX. Ordered: July 23 Installation: September 3, 4 and 7 (thunderstorms...
