    Delivery Nightmare

My wife emailed a couple VPs early this morning and that appears to have done the trick. Maybe we should teach our delivery specialist how to use Tesla's AD Global Address Book because they responded within the hour and immediately agreed to ship the car to Georgia for free in addition to...

    Delivery Nightmare

Here's the response I just got back from Tesla. They're still shockingly unwilling to do anything. "This document is part of a delivery outside of California, but you would still need either a Georgia ID or intent to register in California. I have emailed various leadership figures to find a...

    Delivery Nightmare

Thanks! Just sent that doc to both the owner advisor and delivery specialist in NV. Fingers crossed, but something tells me they won't do it. I'll keep you posted.

    Delivery Nightmare

After many many conversations, my understanding is that this decision is entirely at Tesla's discretion.

    Delivery Nightmare

We found a third party financier who would allow us to do it and they still wouldn't take it. The new state is in Georgia. Directly from their website I am a Georgia resident but I plan to buy a car in another state. Will I be required to pay TAVT when I title this motor vehicle in Georgia...

    Delivery Nightmare

Even if that weren't illegal in the new state (law is 30 days from first time it's in the state), it wouldn't solve any problems. We'd still be paying both taxes.

    Delivery Nightmare

Not sure how "a salesperson lying to a customer causing them to spend a lot of their own time and money and then refusing to help correct their own (Tesla's) mistake" qualifies as "Tesla doing their best"

    Delivery Nightmare

To start with, I'd like to say that my wife and I have been S85 owners since 2013. We have a Model 3 pre-order (I waited in line to be one of the first), and were hoping to add a Model X to our family today. That didn't happen. We are at a total dead end and have no idea what else to do outside...

    Supercharger - Inyokern, CA (4 V2 stalls)

I'm stopping in Barstow instead of Rancho

4SUPER9, I'm going up Thursday. Shoot me a PM, maybe we can meet up

Where is the Model X Test Mule? Is there one?

It's hard to tell from a distance, but the rear half looks a lot more like that than a Model S or the Model X prototype
  12. C

Where is the Model X Test Mule? Is there one?

I suppose it's possible, but not sure why they'd need to do that. They already have a prototype they've shown off they could use for testing. I'll give it that it's a little strange that it seems like there's a large Tesla presence there, but otherwise it's a hell of a coincidence.

Traveling 395 East of the Sierras: Planning Charging and Energy Usage

Honestly, I think unless you're doing 40, you're never gonna make it. But I could be wrong.
  14. C

Where is the Model X Test Mule? Is there one?

It's the Prius-looking proportions of the back. Completely flat. The front looks identical too
  15. C

Where is the Model X Test Mule? Is there one?

The only possibility is that I was being lied to about who's making it. More likely is that Tesla is somehow involved with their motor/battery.

Where is the Model X Test Mule? Is there one?

I can't talk about it too much. But let's just say that looks like a dead ringer for another electric SUV from a different manufacturer. I'll never forget that ugly rear.
  17. C

Where is the Model X Test Mule? Is there one?

I can say with about 99% certainty that this is not a Tesla car or SUV or any version of one

    Superchargers at Service Centers?

Good points. I think there's also a benefit to just getting the supercharger count up. But I wouldn't totally discount their usefulness in road trips, either.

    Superchargers at Service Centers?

Based on the Decatur, Ga SC/SpC, the Orange County coming soon dot which looks like it's near the Costa Mesa SC, and the 2nd Las Vegas SpC dot (which actually says it's available now, but I'm sure it's not), I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say that Tesla is going to start putting...

Supercharger - Lone Pine, CA (LIVE 28 Jan 2015, multiple expansions, 16 V3 stalls)

According to the new SC maps on the Tesla website, everyone is getting what they want.

Supercharger - Lone Pine, CA (LIVE 28 Jan 2015, multiple expansions, 16 V3 stalls)

Sorry, I meant the next supercharger would be Inoykern. It's a 2 for 1 deal, whereas Mojave would only serve part of SoCal. Obviously, we really need a SpC every 100 miles, and Mojave, Palmdale, Bishop, etc would make sense eventually (just like we now have Primm, which isn't technically...

Supercharger - Lone Pine, CA (LIVE 28 Jan 2015, multiple expansions, 16 V3 stalls)

Inyokern makes Mammoth 1 stop from anywhere in SoCal. Yosemite would only need a 5 minute top off at LP at worst

Supercharger - Lone Pine, CA (LIVE 28 Jan 2015, multiple expansions, 16 V3 stalls)

    1) Inyokern is hardly out of the way from the 14 (even if it's next to the airport), but Mojave is definitely way out of the way for anyone taking the 395 which would be at least half of SoCal 2) Yes, please try to drive to Lone Pine from Rancho or Hawthorne/LA. You can go first. Post back here...

Supercharger - Lone Pine, CA (LIVE 28 Jan 2015, multiple expansions, 16 V3 stalls)

The concern here is Rancho to Lone Pine. Yes it's 194 miles...uphill. Driving highway speeds usually means actual (comfortable) range is closer to 200 miles in an 85, not 265, which means Rancho to Lone Pine would be extremely difficult in an 85 and impossible in a 60. I have 30k miles on my 85...

Supercharger - Lone Pine, CA (LIVE 28 Jan 2015, multiple expansions, 16 V3 stalls)

Does everyone realize that this still won't allow for travel from SoCal to Yosemite/Mammoth without going 40 mph (except for maybe going way out of your way to charge in Barstow)?? Really annoying, terrible location.

SoCal Roadster to Model S Adapter Borrow/Rent

Thanks capt. We're only going to be there for one night, though, so I need it to be fully charged by the morning. We'll probably use the Crystals chargers as a fallback if necessary. But charging where we're staying would be nice. Thanks Tony, I'll PM you.

SoCal Roadster to Model S Adapter Borrow/Rent

Hey Guys, Driving to Vegas in a few weeks and Hotwire put us at the Cosmo. Anyone in SoCal got a Roadster to Model S adapter that we can borrow/rent? We'd be happy to provide compensation. Thanks in advance!
