Newer P90DL makes 662 hp at the battery!!!

Uh… except you autofilled 2016 for build date and I of course didn't change that, so if you can edit the spreadsheet you might want to move that back to 2015 ;-) My car wasn't built in the future!

Newer P90DL makes 662 hp at the battery!!!

Yep, was just filling it in.

Newer P90DL makes 662 hp at the battery!!!

SOC: 99% Battery: 1063792-00-A Max: Ready! A/C: Off Power: 461kW Once dropped to 90% I got my normal 453-ish.

Newer P90DL makes 662 hp at the battery!!!

First deliveries were end of August, iirc. Mine was beginning of September and about two weeks after delivery started. So yeah, it's been about nine months that they haven't been meeting the quarter mile time. Which is getting to be par for the course for Tesla.

Newer P90DL makes 662 hp at the battery!!!

Andy, it sounds more like "congrats if you bought a car in the short window", as we now have two examples of a recent P90DL that is only hitting ~450kW
  7. D

Newer P90DL makes 662 hp at the battery!!!

    That seems rather unlikely.

Newer P90DL makes 662 hp at the battery!!!

At least the company is consistent with clusters.
  9. D

Newer P90DL makes 662 hp at the battery!!!

For sure. Spitballing reasons all based on this assumption, but obviously stupid random uninformed guesses: 1) Battery pack was ready earlier than refresh and they were running out of components for the old pack and so they threw them in 2) Sales are already brisk enough for Ludicrous. Name...

Newer P90DL makes 662 hp at the battery!!!

Yes, I occasionally have need to charge to 100% to keep a good margin when I'm bouncing around on the weekends. I haven't done a 120V charge to 100% in a long time though which some folks think rebalances the pack. This is only slightly off topic from the original post, though - it's probably...

Newer P90DL makes 662 hp at the battery!!!

Hmm. My Sept 2015 build is already down to 228 at 90% :( I messaged Tesla about this last week and they said it was within fleet norms. It started at 240 if I recall correctly. Its now lower with 13k miles than my wife's 85 with 28k miles. I wonder if the whole P100D happened and Tesla just...

Newer P90DL makes 662 hp at the battery!!!

Sure, but the part numbers say "don't use before cars built on April 11", and ShotgunF15E's car was a mid-March build. My car does have a 1063792-00-A battery, so it is the old style (replaced in December as well, before they released any newer ones).

Newer P90DL makes 662 hp at the battery!!!

Yeah. Totally agree. And it makes me sad. My car isn't any slower than it was before we found this, but it's the P85D all over again. Never going to hit 10.9.
  14. D

Newer P90DL makes 662 hp at the battery!!!

Yeah, that's a good point. I was actually down to 80% SoC by the time preheat had finished and my awful commute had opened up enough to test. So that might have a bearing on my 450.
  15. D

Newer P90DL makes 662 hp at the battery!!!

I'm using teslalog.com. It's basically the same as PowerTools… I've seen no difference in data and so stopped using PowerTools. Last I checked folks hadn't figured out how to get to the canbus on the newer builds (sept+). I'm pretty sure they've solved that but I don't really want to tear apart...

Newer P90DL makes 662 hp at the battery!!!

FWIW, on 2.20.30, and using Max Battery Power today, I hit the normal 450kW. :( Maybe newer firmware… looking forward to what fiksegts sees. Mine was a Sept 2015 build.

Newer P90DL makes 662 hp at the battery!!!

Well that's depressing if they don't backport it. I normally top out just shy of 450kW. I want my 10.9 car :(

    Issues: P41819

It does that. Once it detects there's no key in the car it will tell you that it's missing and the car will not restart. It's a warning below the speedometer - your wife might not have noticed it. The warnings aren't too prominent.

Who is still upgrading to Ludicrous in their P85D after hearing Drag times?

I know this was meant to be rhetorical, but… Mercedes E63 can do it, and far more comfortably for me minus the shifting. I'm actually really glad I didn't spring for that car when I bought my E350 wagon - it made it easier to take the depreciation hit when I decided I wanted the P90D instead...

    Dragtimes P90D Ludicrous 0-60mph and 0-100mph video

I have a 449kW and a 448kW log at 76MPH on completely different days, so it's at least holding to that point. Faster than that I don't have good numbers but I so rarely travel that speed that either it wasn't logged or the battery was likely much lower. Sadly most of the time VisibleTesla has...

    P85D Ludicrous Pre-Order Upgrade Available 9/25/15

Yeah, he didn't notice a difference. Was just saying I hadn't tried to replicate his experiment there yet :) I really need to get my DL1 box out of the Lotus and put it in the Tesla to get some timings.

    P85D Ludicrous Pre-Order Upgrade Available 9/25/15

FWIW, most I've logged is 455kW as well, but I haven't used the "MAX BATTERY OOOOO" setting or been too particular in trying to get a great log.

Will future cars even have rear windows?

My Lotus has no rear window - it's just a solid composite panel with zero visibility. Unfortunately, due to the DMV, it still came with a rear view mirror. So before I yanked it off I had a mirror that showed me a panel. Yay! It sucks not having a rear window. I can drive just fine without it...

    19" rims with P90D?

The actual compound of the tires is empirically significantly better.
  25. D

    19" rims with P90D?

The traction control is working fine :) It's not lighting them up like a burnout for the first bit of time, they're just slipping as it keeps trying to re-apply power while the weight is transferring to the rear of the car and offloading the front tires. It hasn't rained here in a while so roads...

    19" rims with P90D?

My P90D is on the all-season 19" wheels. It easily spins the fronts for the first 10mph or so. Probably would be better with the 21s but I like my socks and sandals. The car is a really fast cruiser, not a sports car. (BTW, I know it's not this thread, but I don't post much, so Pete90D: the...

Personal comparison between 85 Air Suspension and 85 Coil Suspension

We have the coils on our 2013 S85 and the air on our P90D. My other car is an Exige. I prefer the air suspension myself but neither one handles wonderfully. Coils are slightly more connected, but it's still a big heavy car. It will not be stiff with coils. I find the air more composed in general.

Letter To Elon Musk Regarding P85D Horsepower – Discussion Thread

Totally jealous! And yeah, sorka, I know that the Tesla will drop faster than the Exige. But it wasn't built for the track - the Exige was. Just poorly :)

Letter To Elon Musk Regarding P85D Horsepower – Discussion Thread

Just want to say this isn't quite true. My Lotus Exige will drop some 60+hp (which is major when it starts with 260…) when the intercooler heat soaks. At Thunderhill I'll lose 15+mph on the front straight. Rest of conversation? Meh. They messed up. My P90D is in production. I'm looking forward...

Autopilot lane keeping still not available over 6 months after delivery

There's two things that are currently stopping me from purchasing our second Model S: - is the P90DL going to be all Elon says, or will it end up like the P85D? Notably, what's the trap speed at the end of the 1/4 mile? - what's the state of autopilot and will they actually deliver what they...

The new Bond car does 0-60 in......'only' 3.2 seconds

You mean like the McLaren P1 that does 0-60 in 2.6 seconds? Too slow? The La Ferrari does it in 2.4 with RWD.
