M3P rear ended, how long to fix?

Ouch!! That’s awful. What’s your car / rental situation? I was able to negotiate with the other drivers insurance company to put me in a rental until mine was repaired, however long that takes. I hope you have the wheels you need.

Tesla in an accident. The Good and The (Very) Bad News

Sorry man… I agree with your sentiments, this is a clear example of a company putting revenue ahead of customers. I’m hoping my story goes better but I suspect that’s not going to happen.

    Rear Ended After Installing Mods

Well sorry man. I just had an accident like yours, but a little less serious. I appreciate you posting your story. It helps a lot.

M3P rear ended, how long to fix?

Wife was driving through Atlanta traffic today and the driver behind her failed to stop in time. The trunk will not close, and thus AP and a bunch of other features don’t work. Not to mention, it’s ugly, and now leaks water so I have to take room in the garage while waiting for service. Per...

    Collision repair backlog

Well, I see no one responded to you in quite a while... I'm in a similiar situation with a car that was in an accident this morning, a moderate rear end hit by a distracted driver. How did things work out for you?

FS 20" Model 3 Uberturbines from 2022 Performance. Brand New

I’m going to close the thread now. These sold to a terrific gentleman from NC for $2500 cash.

FS 20" Model 3 Uberturbines from 2022 Performance. Brand New

Hey, I just picked up my 2022 Model 3 Performance and immediately installed a new set of Martian Wheels on it. So, I've got a brand new set of Uberturbines and a brand new set of tires on them. Location is Atlanta OTP, between Woodstock and Alpharetta. I'll be happy to deliver anywhere in the...

Hit a pothole and got 2 flats on my Model 3 Performance

I’m on the same boat and actively shopping for 19” rims and four season tires before I pick up my M3P in a week or two. What rims do you recommend?

    2021 Model S LR+ sale ideas while I wait for my 2022 LR+

This is what I have decided to do. The MS is just too good to let go of. I drove several m3 recently and it’s just not for me. Thanks!

    2021 Model S LR+ sale ideas while I wait for my 2022 LR+

That’s a good point! Thanks. I’m going to shop around a bit for the best resale value I can get on the Model S. If I can find a valuation over $80k I think the numbers make enough sense for me to do it.
  15. D

    2021 Model S LR+ sale ideas while I wait for my 2022 LR+

Not a bad idea… but the resale on the M3 seems to be very close or the same to the new purchase price… Where do you find deals?

    2021 Model S LR+ sale ideas while I wait for my 2022 LR+

Yup! I didn't think I needed to spell out that one car is pre-refresh and the other is post refresh. Y'all know this, but the extra 120 horsepower, ventilated seats, and massively upgraded interior all have value to me. If I could just give $8k and upgrade, that would be a no brainer. And...

    2021 Model S LR+ sale ideas while I wait for my 2022 LR+

Whats the latest on FSD transferring with the sale of the vehicle? I know I won’t keep it but does the next owner get the benefit?

    2021 Model S LR+ sale ideas while I wait for my 2022 LR+

Sales tax and registration on the 21 Model S was $5650, the Model 3P would be $3800. I’m lucky to live in a low tax area. Doesn’t seem like a deal breaker to me.

    2021 Model S LR+ sale ideas while I wait for my 2022 LR+

Hey, soooo Im the proud owner of a 2022 Model S LR+ with about 10k miles, blue over the cream interior and FSD. Retail on this is currently in the $80-90k range which is a bit more than I paid for the car at $69,420 + options and tax. I’ve got an order for a 2022 LR+, same spec with an order...

No new features since December: A New Tesla Strategy?

Every vehicle with an advanced infotainment system has suffered from occasional bugs and reboots. I wouldn't let this get under your skin if you otherwise love the car. If it does bother you, then do go ahead and move on. I'm sorry it didn't work out.
  21. D

    Hello from Asheville

Did you end up buying the car? I'm very curious about your experiences.
  22. D

No new features since December: A New Tesla Strategy?

Yup... This is it. Developers are too specific to a specific thing to just casually move around. It could take months to retask a dev into a complicated, fast moving project.

So, what terms did you finally get for the loan?
  24. D

    Lifetime Average Wh/mi

There's two factors that lead to increased consumption from the larger, performance wheels. One, the increased weight leads to increased rotational mass. You can look into this on your own, but it's quite well proven that this requires additional energy to spin. Not all of that energy is...

    P85 rear air springs

This has been a great discussion. Thanks for the review. Makes me want to pull the frunk tub out and take a look.
  26. D

Does the pre-Raven Air suspension have variable comfort settings?

I’m quoting myself here, but the original point remains. The ride is stiffer, and less comfortable at either high or low ride height compared to normal. We’re quibbling over semantics and missing the original point.
  27. D

    Frunk unlatched at 130mph

Indeed, 130 mph is a common speed in many places. The car is rated at 155 or better, so the latches should have held and certainly have been tested at those speeds.

    Supercharger - Alpharetta, GA

Just a couple of updates, Avalon does have a large bank of Superchargers. They're 72kw in my experience. Roswell is sales and service... I know because last week I picked up my new Model S there. :)

Mine was right about four weeks. I’m pretty pleased, last time I ordered a truck it took 7 weeks if I remember correctly.

After too long on the sidelines, I’m about to become an owner

Took me a minute to get out there and check. 2021 car with the H pack. Range is 364 at 90% and 405 at 100%. and I love it!

Long Range Plus 2021 vs Model 3 LR AWD

Yes, it’s been standard on all Model S for several years. In 2019 it was updated to be adaptive to road conditions and your driving style. I’ve driven cars with and without this and it’s a massive improvement. Definitely recommend the air for the best ride and handling.

After too long on the sidelines, I’m about to become an owner

She’s here!! Right at four weeks from order, I took delivery last night. The car seems flawless and arrived with 7 miles on the odometer and was charged to 90%. So far, so good. Thanks for all the help along the way. Let me know if you have any questions.

    Used 2017 Model S 90D vs 2021 Model S

Definitely! I'm sure you'll love it and I believe you can still get the 2.49% financing from Tesla if you so choose.
  35. D

    Used 2017 Model S 90D vs 2021 Model S

There are a lot of upgrades, check Tesla Tap if you want a comprehensive breakdown. But, I'd think carefully about the used one I doubt it's as good of a value when you account for all the stuff they include in the new ones.

After too long on the sidelines, I’m about to become an owner

In other news, all the financing was revised to include FSD and the contract is done. I’ll ACH the down payment tomorrow and be ready to pick up hopefully Monday.

After too long on the sidelines, I’m about to become an owner

Well, I dropped by the local Tesla location and talked to my Sales Advisor. He gps tracked the car and found out it’s scheduled to arrive on Sunday (if not sooner). Then, they’ll inspect and it should be ready for delivery 1-2 days later. So, it’ll be 10/14 as my order date, with arrival on or...

After too long on the sidelines, I’m about to become an owner

The difference seem to be small, I ordered blue, with the cream interior and FSD. So, that’s an extra $11k in options. Regardless, I’d imagine they’ll update you pretty soon.

Waited for years...finally clicked Buy...now what?

I just spent a week driving a 2017 Model S 75 and didn't think the LEDs were dim at all. I don't see why you'd choose to upgrade them.

    2017-2020 P100D differences

Heck out Tesla Tap’s website for detailed breakdowns of the changes from year to year. TL;DR there are huge changes to the car in that period.
  44. D

Long Range Plus 2021 vs Model 3 LR AWD

noooooo it’s subjective. Want the smaller, easier to park, sportier car? Get the 3. Want the larger, more luxury and traditional car? Get the S. Which is better depends on what you value.
  45. D

    MYP vs MS LR+

This is the same story that’s been true with cars v suvs for decades. Physics can not be ignored. It doesn’t matter which one is more advanced, being lower to the ground has compelling advantages for ride and handling. Conversely, people generally like bigger vehicles like trucks and suvs for...

Long Range Plus 2021 vs Model 3 LR AWD

One thing I haven’t seen a lot of discussion around is the target market for these cars. M3 was designed to get the price down, essentially try and introduce an ‘economy’ version of a luxury brand. Which takes me to the S\X... these are pure luxury cars. Bigger, quieter, and more expensive...

Does the pre-Raven Air suspension have variable comfort settings?

It lowers the pressure to lower the ride height, but that has the effect of reducing the available compression for the suspension. So, if you do end up hitting a bump it will be quite jarring compared to the standard ride height.
