Will using Powerwall reduce delivery charges?

Hi all, I have always generated more energy than I make and have 1:1 net metering so I have been using Powerwall's in backup only mode, Now that I have a Model Y and have also installed LG heat pumps for Heating/Cooling I am now looking to have my first eclectic bill this month (using the last...

Final payment + trade in question…pick up tmrrw!!

That's what I was worried about, they would give me a check instead of deducting the trade in value for the loan amount. I love Tesla products but they do not hold your hand through the process. You really need to keep on top of everything and look out for your best interests. Same experience...

Any good alternative for basenor mudflap?

FYI, I live in Connecticut, picking up MY in MT Kisco tomorrow. I emailed service center ahead of delivery and they told me I would need to purchase the mudflaps /PPF and schedule a service appointment to have them installed after delivery. Not sure if they no loner offer this or I am just unlucky.

Final payment + trade in question…pick up tmrrw!!

Hi , the same thing happened to me (negative balance). I was afraid they would not apply the trade in correctly so I emailed [email protected] and they were able to apply it and now I have no balance due. I am also picking up tomorrow.

Discussion: Model 3 and Y price drop Jan 2023 / April 2023 / Oct 2023 and All other Pricing Speculation going forward

Just ordered a MY Black from existing inventory from MT Kisco NY. MSRP $49,240.00 reduced to $45,300.00. I could not hold off any longer, was going to wait but this price drop was a nice unexpected surprise.

    Sunlight Financial balloon payment.

Hello, I secured my solar loan through Sunlight Financial. I make payments to Spectrum Credit Union. There is a balloon payment due after the the17th month of the loan otherwise they will re-amortize the loan with a higher monthly payment. There are no pre-payment penalties. My question is if I...

What's the max generation you've seen for a 16.2kWh system at any given time?

I have a 16.32 kW and the highest I have seen since the system went live in late November is 7.1Kw. That was a quick peak, not sustained. I have a lot of shading from trees on the south side (front of house). Also, 12 of my panels face north which I have found to be pretty useless this time of...

    Sense Monitor CT Placement

I just added the solar CT's for sense. There was not much room to fit them in the gateway so I ended up buying the extension cable and running them to the breaker box with Powerwall and solar breakers. Attached them to the output from the solar breaker and got an accurate reading during setup...

    Powerwall discharging to grid

It's possible but I was not offered the choice in my agreement with Tesla. Right now it appears that only Massachusetts and Connecticut offer winter events. State Customer Incentive Summer/Winter Massachusetts $180/kW $40/kW Rhode Island $320/kW No winter events Connecticut $180/kW $40/kW...

    Powerwall discharging to grid

Congrats on the PTO! I just had mine in November. Thanks for this information and screenshot. It looks like we had our event around the same time. I went back and looked at the connected solution's contract and there is no mention of any notification so it's possible we will not be notified...

    Powerwall discharging to grid

Looks like the power went to the grid because my "to grid" number jumped up significantly. Perhaps there is a problem with the setup of my system? My solar generation total has not been accurate (about 50% of actual) since install and still has not been fixed after several calls and emails. I...

    Powerwall discharging to grid

I noticed this evening that my Powerwall was discharging to the grid. I assume this has to do with Eversource connected solutions demand response. I was expecting to be notified of events but have not received any notification. Does anybody have experience with this? I am located in Connecticut...

    Solar Edge access wait time?

This is great, gives some hope of getting the layout mapped. First I have to get the layout from Tesla as I never got a copy at install. Who would be the best contact for this?

    Help Reading New Meter

Thanks. I looked up some info online as well as some youtube videos. One video I saw had what appeared to be the same model and they had the expected reading with kWh next to it. I am wondering if it was not configured correctly? It was installed by the utlilty.

    Help Reading New Meter

Hello, I got a new meter before PTO. I decided to take some readings from it today and I am not sure what I am seeing. There are three numbers with a "t" next to it and one with a "b". Meter is a Centron -Itron. Any ideas?

    Solar Edge access wait time?

Thanks. I did not know if the inverter data was stored on the solar edge servers. I will have to wait until tomorrow to see if the data shows up for me.

    Solar Edge access wait time?

Wow, after my call this afternoon I got the email 2.5 hr later! I now have access but there is no data or history. I have the black box connected with no signal error. Anything else I need to do?

    Solar Edge access wait time?

Well after several weeks and no response, I called Tesla support again. It appears there was no record in my account of the request for solar edge access. It looks like the last guy I talked to did nothing. I requested access again and after several times on hold I was read the disclaimer as...

    Solar Edge access wait time?

I called Tesla over a week ago to request access to the solar edge app. The representative said he put in the request but was not sure how long it would be for solar edge to respond. Those of you who requested this, how long did it take before you got a response? Who was the email from? Thanks.

The time line for Connecticut / UI

Hello, I live in CT and just got my final approval / PTO. My electrical provider is Eversource not UI. I placed my order on 6/20 and they did not submit the interconnection application until 9/17. It took almost 3 months to get that far. Things moved quickly after that but I had to keep on top...

    Speed up PTO?

Thanks! I would try to push them to see what the hold up is. In my case, it ended up being the utility but I would not have known this unless I reached out to them directly. From my experience, Tesla submits and waits, no matter how long that may be. There could be something holding up the...

    Speed up PTO?

I know solar roofs can be a little more involved but damn, that is a long wait. I have read many stories of extremely long processing times with Tesla. I am certain if I left it up to Tesla and did not get involved I would still be waiting on installation right now. I went for almost 3 months...

    Speed up PTO?

Wow, that is a great timeline considering you did not have to get involved. I would be satisfied with that response time. Here is my timeline so far: Order Placed- 6/20 Design Approved- 6/25 Interconnection Application submitted-9/17 Verbal approval from Utility to install - 9/30 Install...

Two weeks with inopererable powerwalls, starting to get why people say Tesla support is lacking

Sorry to hear that you're having problems with your Powerwalls. To be honest, I am dreading having any major issues with my system and I am not even operating yet. How old is your system? I am interested to see how long it takes them to get someone onsite.

    Speed up PTO?

Now that I have been communicating directly with the Project Manager from the Utility, things are moving along very quickly. Speed up PTO?

    Speed up PTO?

I went to my local utility (Eversource, Connecticut) website's application page and logged in with my credentials. There is no data listed under interconnect. I am wondering if Tesla had their own account that they use for applications?

    Speed up PTO?

I suppose it could have been worded better. It appears they have little motivation to actually get you answers and are simply looking to process emails. As suggested , I called to get the name of my advisor and discovered I now have been assigned a new advisor. This would explain why my last...

    Speed up PTO?

I emailed them and asked for an ETA on the PTO submission and I got: "Currently, there are no updates. Once we have more information, we will reach out and inform you. Thank you." I will try finding my current advisor's number and see if I can get an answer from them.

    Speed up PTO?

Does anyone have experience with PTO timeline of a financed system? I wonder if they are waiting for documentation form the finance company? Powerwall battery calibration

Powerwall was around 92 percent when I switched over to battery. I have attached a screenshot. It looks like I peaked at 5kw so I am thinking someone may have used the microwave as well as the oven during this time.
  39. Rich121

    Powerwall battery calibration

Yes, it is good too find out now how certain loads effect the battery so I can curtail my usage during an outage. I was able to run all night with plenty to spare. Unfortunately we have snow today so I don't think I am going to be able to charge them back up much. I have 2 Powerwalls.

    Powerwall battery calibration

We did run the oven for about 20 minutes that must have been it. I did not realize how fast it would drain the battery. With normal usage, it is now acting as expected.

    Powerwall battery calibration

Does the Powerwall battery need to go through a full charge and discharge cycle or "calibration" before it reports accurately? It's my first time running off the battery and the first 10% seemed to drop off quickly but it has now seemed to settle down.

Powerwall self power mode with net metering.

Thank you for your reply's I was not sure if I was missing something. I forgot about the efficiency loss from the power wall. Looks like it will be back up only for me. I guess it's nice to know you have a fully charged battery ready to go at all times.

Powerwall self power mode with net metering.

Is there any benefit to running the Powerwall in self-powered mode if I have 1:1 net metering? I have no time of use rates.

Wrong generation reporting on new system

Thanks for the reply and additional ideas. I know I don't have a lot of data to go on at this point. Still waiting on inspection and PTO so it will be a while before I have some good numbers to go on. I just know something was not right and want to try and get ahead of it.

Wrong generation reporting on new system

Hello all, Just joined this forum although I have been lurking for some time while researching my system. My installation was finally finished a few days ago. It's a 16.32kw with 2 power walls and I am located in Connecticut. Decided to "test" my system today and charge up the power walls. It...
