Model 3 SR+ 2021 model suddenly charging slowly at home

After starting the charge manually yesterday evening just to check at what it charges (I didn't change the Amp setting it went automatically to 30A) the car started charging normally last night again during the scheduled charge. So hopefully problem solved 🤞

Model 3 SR+ 2021 model suddenly charging slowly at home

Hi, I've noticed that my car is now often not charged to 80% in the morning anymore. I've got a PodPoint 7kWh charger and it used to charge at around that level. I've now started up my Teslamate which I hadn't used in a while and I could pin point the day when it changed Up to the 28th it...

What is going on with the charge settings?

My M3SR+ seems to get confused with the charge settings. I used to have it set to schedule charging to start at 00:30 (Octopus Go). They in the Winter I've switched to depart at 8 am with cheap charging stopping at 4:30 but I've often noticed that the car often started charging right when I...

    Panic buying!

A few month back I started the thread ‘Packed Superchargers’. You can imagine my smug grin now when I drive past the petrol station (if some idiots are not blocking the road queuing). No trucks needed to deliver my electrons to my Tesla or Leaf. They should use that for EV adverts. Show people...

Best/most convenient Supercharger in Bristol area?

I am driving to Bristol tomorrow. I get there in one charge but I need to charge up in Bristol for the return trip. Bristol seems to have 3 Superchargers, one is in a Shopping Centre, one at a Tesla showroom (?) and one on a Service Station bit further down South. I am staying in a Hotel in...

    Not us ;-)

I just returned from a 1662 mile round trip to Scotland. The only time I had a problem was in remote Scotland where there wasn’t a Supercharger nearby and I had to use public chargers (first was dead, at the second I had no reception and needed an app). I never had to wait for a slot during the...

    Packed Superchargers

Today the navigator constantly switched between Superchargers. We went down from Inverness to York. My plan for charging didn’t survive for long. I was re-routed several times. At first it was Perth - Abington - Scotts Corner, then Abington filled up and I was re-routed to Eurocentral (Glasgow)...

Chargeplace Scotland - App or RFID card?

I had to use CPS for the first time on my way to Skye. My RFID card did not arrive in time before I left for Scotland and I thought no worries, I just use the App. The first charger I tried about 20m before the Skye bridge was totally dead. Checked the CPS app and typed in the Post code of the...

    Packed Superchargers

I‘ve been to 4 SCs today and 2 of them were at full capacity (Tebay and Abington). Gretna which we passed had apparently 7 cars waiting (Tebay had one waiting after we got the last free slot). So even without opening up the network to others Tesla has to increase the number of charges...

Planning trip to Edinburgh and Inverness from the South East

The trip up to Edinburgh was a doddle. At first Tessy (my car) didn’t let me go to the Hilton Park SC without a stop but after a while it was fine with it and we arrived with 16%. It is not a very inviting Service Station but plenty of empty chargers (early in the morning). It charged up to 83%...

Planning trip to Edinburgh and Inverness from the South East

I’ve been planning my trip to Edinburg for tomorrow and I thought it might be useful to have a list of Superchargers on the route (M6) and how much battery Percentage (M3SR+) you need to get from one to the other: (so to get from Gatwick SC to Oxford SC you need about 40%, then on to Warwick you...

Planning trip to Edinburgh and Inverness from the South East

I had a look at Tebay, it looks like you can only get to the Superchargers on the way South. Looks like you can get to it via a back route. Just a little detour but it would cut out one charger stop. I could now make it to Edinburgh with just two charge stops. Can you actually get to the south...

Planning trip to Edinburgh and Inverness from the South East

Hi We are planning a trip to Edinburgh and then on to Inverness with our M3SR+. I still have some free supercharger miles so I am thinking of mainly charging at Superchargers in Scotland. We will be doing several day trips from Inverness, as far as I can see there are Superchargers in Inverness...

Rattling noise from the passenger side

My rattling stopped when I moved the passenger seat forward a bit. It was right at the back and that somehow caused a rattling. But you are right - as you don’t have a noisy engine to cover up these sounds you hear everything

New windscreen fitted - Model 3.

I had very bad experiences with non-Tesla windscreen replacements (wasn’t with auto glass though). The first windscreen had distortions on the bottom of the screen which made it look like the car was sucking in the road markings. It looked really wired and I couldn’t stand looking at it. They’ve...

Reminder to new owners - Always carry your Key card!

As I need to carry my house key anyway and when I drive I should have my driving license on me I searched for ‘key wallet’ on the web. It took me a while to find one that isn’t bulky. It is basically just a slim leather wallet that can hold 4-5 cards and has a key ring attached. So I’ve got my...

Autopilot switching from 70 to 55mph joining M20 from M26

The other day I was driving down to Canterbury. I was on autopilot when the car suddenly decelerated. At first I though this was phantom breaking (which I haven’t really experienced before) but then I’ve noticed that it reduced the speed limit from 70 to 55. This was just before the M26 joins...

What do we think about the UK license plate green flash?

I like the green flash as it make our ‘road trip game’ of spotting EVs easier ;-) On a lot of the Niro’s etc you don’t know whether it is an ICE, a Plug in or an EV. My Tesla came with the green flash but I am not rushing to change the plate on our Nissan Leaf. No benefit - but I do have a 100%...

Rattling noise from the passenger side

This morning on the school run I switched off the music and told my son who was sitting on the passenger seat to try to locate the rattle - no rattle at all! I dropped him off and the rattle started. I plugged in the seatbelt. Still rattling. A bit odd. It might be the seat needing someone to...

Rattling noise from the passenger side

I’ve been noticing some rattling noise on my 2021 M3 coming from the passenger side. At first I thought it was the seat belt knocking against the side. But then I plugged it in and it continued. I’ve tried to find whether anything is lose on that side but couldn’t find anything. Any one else...

Model 3 Heat Pump PT Sensor Replacement (P2) - recall - service message

Moderator comment - thread merged from "Unexpected condition with the heating system detected" I woke up to this message on my 2021 M3 Any idea what that could be? I’ve got the feeling the heat pump isn’t rumbling anymore. So that could be it. I haven’t noticed anything yet. How do these...

Tesla Spoof Email - Impressive Effort

I got a call the other day while sitting at the Superchargers. A guy with an Indian accent was telling me that HMRC got an arrest warrant for me … I didn’t know that they went into the policing business. Does HMRC operate the prisons as well now ;-)

Who is getting this low frequency rumbling with the M3? Is it the Heat pump or something else? Poll

Ok I would say the poll is conclusive. All 2021 M 3 owners (except one) have it while no pre-2021 owner (except one) has it

Who is getting this low frequency rumbling with the M3? Is it the Heat pump or something else? Poll

I am trying to figure out where the this low frequency rumbling and noise is coming from in my 2021 Model 3. I get it every 40-60 seconds when I park (you do get it while driving as well but you don’t notice it as much). In some posts I’ve read that this is normal in the 2021 models and that it...

    2021: Low Frequency Vibration

So is the consensus now that it is a problem with the condenser cooling fan and should be looked at or is it the heat pump or is it maybe both? Green number plates

    Distorted windscreen

I just had my windscreen replaced on my M3SR+ because of a stone chip. On my first drive with the car I’ve noticed that the bottom of the windscreen is distorted. Packed Superchargers

I must say that after having completed my first ‘road trip’ with the Tesla I would do a much longer one without hesitation. It was really easy and painless. We charged up 20 min on the road on the way out and back and then 1h40 min over the few days we were out there for round trips and to...

    Packed Superchargers

No they would be stupid to plan the SuC for Bank Holiday demand. But as there are more and more Teslas around the need for SuC is increasing. Just check densely the SuC network is on the East and West coast of the US to the UK and you will see that there is still a lot of room for improvement...

    TeslaMate [megathread]

I am using GCP for Teslamate. I have followed the settings for the ‘free’ account. Google is now telling me my trial is nearly over and I have to set up automatic billing or risk losing access. Is the billing setup really required? Will they charge you or is the lowest level still free?

    Packed Superchargers

Yesterday I had to help a lady at the Exeter SuC. She approached me asking for help because she could not plug in the cable. I had a look at it and she tried to connect the old Tesla connector to a new Model 3 ;-) Sometimes you have to charge up to over 80% (At least with an SR+). We are going...

    Packed Superchargers

We did our first longer trip today from Surrey to Devon. Half way we stopped for a toilet break and recharge at Amesbury. It was busy but no one had to wait (8/16). Then we wanted to charge up at the Exeter SuC. All 8 stalls full and 4 cars in front of us. So we drove to our accommodation first...

Favourite/handy voice commands that work [in the UK]

My favourite is ‘Fold mirrors’ as I am often driving narrow country lanes but unfortunately for me it is a hit and miss. Supercharger questions

This one (in Crawley near Gatwick) is a bit odd. Instead of having 1A 1B, 2A 2B etc it had 1A 1B 1C 1D and 2A 2B 2C 2D. Does that mean 4 chargers share one feed? I’ve used 2A while the other car was 1A.

    Supercharger questions

Anyone who is leasing the car, what do you see when you do a Supercharge? Is that session appearing on the website? My account is not showing any car on the Tesla Website. I think that is because of the lease. The Tesla app is however working.

Moderator comment - following part of thread merged from "Confused about cruise control" I often use the adaptive cruise control in 30 zones when they have a few speed cameras. Bulky item in boot. Will it fit?

Just picked it up. The box it came in was a lot bigger and would not fit at all, even on the back seats. I had to unpack it in the car park and then it just about fit. So the max size you can get into your M3 on you backseats is about 40x50x120. Anything above that ...

Bulky item in boot. Will it fit?

I‘ve tested it with a box of similar height (43x110) and as you can see from the picture it would not fit in the boot but it should fit on the backseats.
