Tesla: Highlights from our upcoming Spring Release below

Am I the only one who thinks the auto open trunk will be damaging tailgates left and right when someone walks behind their car in their garage? Will it open if you are washing the back of your car? Better remember to turn that off...

    2023.44.5.1 Messages Tab

Phone, calendar and messages have all been separated in this round of updates. They need to be launched from their own icons. I'm not a fan of this either, but they have done worse before...

Any reason to do this if we never configured for anything but bluetooth?

New AutoPilot is horrible after update

I do have to say I find it comical that the new nag gets pissy when you look at the screen for something. If they are going to get that sensitive about it, then they should have actually put it in front of the driver. Kind of defeats their own design...

    Single Tap is Great!

I would think that anyone with basic autopilot would have no use for this option at all. Without auto lane change, now auto pilot is completely disabled every time you want to make a lane change. Maybe I could get by if it didn't kill TACC when you moved the wheel... I tried it and turned it...

Stops charging after update to 2023.44.1

You may see some codes under the alert icon that may point you in the correct direction. Are you using any third party apps with your car? I ran into a similar issue with my car (although not nearly as often) where it just would stop charging at night. After working with Tesla techs, we...

Vendor My Tesla Remote - A 3rd party remote that doesn't ask for your credentials

I have to agree with this. Bigger buttons would help a lot. BTW, I got the app after using Watch for Tesla for years. I started having charging / sleeping issues that were confirmed as a 3rd party app issue (disconnecting the app connection from the car did solve the problems), so it was nice...

TPMS reports "tire pressure higher than recommended value" at 45 PSI

Yeah, I have never seen this kind of warning, and I regularly see the tires go from 42 cold to 45-47 if it's hot out.

Vendor Retractable Roof Sunshade is on Sale!

I have two of these at this point (they sent me another to address issues with the first. They both have different issues, so the QC is all over the place. The first one the front section would slowly close on its own if it was open, the second one the rear section opens on its own if the front...

Vendor Retractable Roof Sunshade is on Sale!

The tape is completely worthless. I had better luck with dual sided foam tape. I have the same gap in the front. Ultimately, I decided I could live with it, and the shade blocks the heat so well, it might not be a bad idea for it to breathe a bit with our crazy heat. I will add, with the shade...

Vendor Retractable Roof Sunshade is on Sale!

I got that email as well. The price just dropped $50 on both their site and Amazon. I have a couple of small issues I'm going over with them, but for the most part, it's pretty good.

    Taptes Model Y retractable sunshade?

I got mine installed yesterday, it was actually surprisingly straight forward. There is an install video on Amazon that may help. Lining up the screws in the back was pretty easy if you use the provided Allen key and pull it down a bit. This will allow you to move the bar and get the hole lined...

    ONR - I'm a believer now

It's the only stuff I've washed my car with since i got it. Love it and can wash the car inside the garage. They key is to make sure you have enough clean towels to use.

Vendor Retractable Roof Sunshade is on Sale!

I'm only seeing the model 3 version right now as well. It repeatedly goes in and out of stock almost daily. Just refresh the page for the model 3 version and you should see it come up as an option to select on that page when it's back.

Vendor Retractable Roof Sunshade is on Sale!

Actually it's back on Amazon as of this morning for $259 (the one you are talking about is the one piece version) and available for delivery on Thursday. I'm debating canceling my order and ordering it this way so if there are any issues it can be returned without hassle. It would be a $9+ tax hit.

Vendor Retractable Roof Sunshade is on Sale!

I ordered back in early June and am starting to wonder about the legitimacy of this vendor. They told me several times that they were here in the US and Amazon was handling them and it would be another 5 days... Now that that window has passed they are blaming Prime Day (from 12 days ago?) and...

    MYP Weak AC

Yes, it takes longer to get cold and will start by blowing hot air on you... Just turn it on from your phone or smart watch a couple of minutes before you get in the car. This is a fair trade off, and when you discover how nice it is to just leave the AC on when you have to run into a store and...

Auto Pilot to FSD BETA in 7 hours

I can confirm when the update is complete. The release notes don't say anything other than "minor fixes", but I do know that 2023.20.6 does have it. When I got home from work, I manually checked for an update, and it told me there wasn't one, so I figured I would have to wait until tomorrow...

Auto Pilot to FSD BETA in 7 hours

I just subscribed to FSD a few hours ago to test out the beta, was on 2023.4.1. 2023.20.7 just started downloading on it's own, so it looks like they have already updated 2023.20.6.

Driver & Front Passenger Temp Controls

This is literally one of the only changes in this update. It will no longer show the passenger controls unless someone is sitting there: The app launcher at the bottom of the screen will now only display the driver's climate setting if there is no one sitting in the passenger seat. If someone...

Apr 18 Software Update Bug affects Cruise Control availability and More

I'm on 2023.12.5 and this happened to me on my way home from work today. Jumped on the freeway and Autopilot wasn't having any. I noticed the left pane was also not showing any objects besides the car either, although it did indicate when the ultrasonic sensors were reading other cars and it...

    Tint vs no tint measurement

I had mine done at Eco-Tint. Everything was computer cut and came out great. They also did PPF at the same time. Did half front and pieces to protect in front of the rear wheels. Tint was Llumar IRX. At the time (2 years ago) options were Stratos, IRX and CTX.

    Tint vs no tint measurement

The Y is a fishbowl, and I would say ceramic tint is must here. Definitely do it. Personally I got 30% on the fronts and 40% on the back and hatch, as well as "clear" on the windshield. I would also recommend a shade for the roof. Your HVAC system will thank you (plus it will make a lot less...

[Feature Request] Tesla Should Add the Ability to Turn Wireless Charging Off in Settings

I'm pretty sure this was an option that has been mentioned before, so some day we may actually get it... Mentioned here a year ago... Tesla to add option to turn off your wireless charger In the mean time, I just unplugged mine. I like the location for the phone, but don't want it to charge...

I ran into the same problem. This is not completely their fault... Disable whatever content blockers you have on the page and it will let you complete the purchase. On an iPhone, click the aA at the left of the address bar and you can disable from there. I'm using Wipr on both my mobile...

Just ordered the Tesla Rear Liftgate Sunshade and the Tesla Glass Roof Sunshade

The extra layer can essentially black it out. I used it for a bit this way since my goal was to block out as much as possible. Then I tried it without the reflecting later. It worked well enough for me even in our 110 heat, and I preferred that there was still some light coming through. So in...

Just ordered the Tesla Rear Liftgate Sunshade and the Tesla Glass Roof Sunshade

This is the one I have: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09W5MMVKW At the time I got it it was one of the only light color ones available. The two piece design works well too.

Just ordered the Tesla Rear Liftgate Sunshade and the Tesla Glass Roof Sunshade

I have both and really like them. The hatch shade is in place from April-September. The roof shade is in place from April- June and September through early October. I have a more opaque two piece shade for the roof for July and August that matches the light headliner. It's goofy hot here though...

    Tesla and MyQ

After using this for a bit, it's clear that there is some communication (providing location info) going on between the car and MyQ that accounts for various behaviors. Pretty much every day when I pull out of the garage, it will show a "close" button for a few seconds, then go away (maybe due to...

    Automatic Turn Signals

I've found that when it works, it works great. About 20% of the time it just shuts off after a couple of seconds. No rhyme or reason I've been able to determine so far.

    Tesla and MyQ

Actually, it does work exactly the same. Did you mark a location for the door (you can do this without the auto open function)? Park in front of it, pull up the settings for the door and mark the location. Now you will get a button, just like the homelink when you pull up to it. My openers are...

    2022.44.25

I got the update yesterday, and I have to say I'm very pleased (I hated last years update): Nav is easier to read The auto blinkers are great, 3 seconds was always too short for me. For some reason it took a few tries to get the option to stick (?) Apple Music is a welcome addition. Loving that...

    Model Y 2022 Parcel shelf?

I don't have that cargo shelf, but based on that photo, I think the issue is that the whole thing should be resting on the side rails, not resting behind the back of the seats. The seats are down, so the space under it should be open.
  37. S

    Tesla and MyQ

It appears they took something that would be great for people with myQ hardware (we have two openers and love them) and then ruined it with a subscription to use it with the car's interface. I was looking forward to this since my homelink is already full, but if the subscription is true, I'll...

Autopilot not available post 2022.40.4.1 Installed

My car did this to me for the first time last night on the way home from work on 2022.40.4.2. I rebooted the car and it worked again on the next drive. It gives you the warnings that cruise control and auto pilot are "temporarily unavailable", but it doesn't give you a clue why...

2022.28.1 — Official Release Notes and Discussion

Well... It works, but the behavior is completely different. With that slider set to off, the auto high beams are completely off (except for when autopilot is engaged), and pushing the stalk forward manually turns the high beams on and off . The behavior before was that the auto high beams were...

2022.28.1 — Official Release Notes and Discussion

I noticed this after updating last night. This morning I found a slider for it in the lights settings (that I don't believe was there before) and turned it off. I'll see if it's back on when I leave work.

Air conditioning system strength (in general)

I've got no complains in our Vegas heat with tinted windows and sunshade in the summer (compared to any other car I've had here). OEM trunk storage bin (right side) for 2022 MYLR ?

The right one does not "slide right in" like the left one. There is a lip it needs to fit under on the right. From your photo, it looks like it's under there, but maybe the front right corner hasn't quite cleared?.
