This thread is for the general discussion of the marketplace listing 2016 Tesla Model X 90D - Red. Please add to the discussion here.
Here are some additional photos:
The parking lot paving looks complete, but still some work to be done at the entrance.
There are 5 conduits that look to be the size for wall connector chargers (too small for a supercharger)
I have a VIN assigned, should be delivered in two weeks in St. Louis according to a call from Tesla yesterday.
VIN = 00547X, Deep Blue Metallic, 18" Aero Wheels, Autopilot, Long Range Battery, Premium Upgrades.
The request indicated Ditch and today has added: "Notes: elect underground for Tesla charging station - ok", and disposition of "Approved".
This indicates that the trenches for the conduit are dug, and are deep enough per code. If I was closer, I would go by and take some pictures. The conduit...
The picture shows a voltage of 220V when pulling 72A. What voltage does it show when only drawing a few amps? If the voltage starts out higher and drops very much as the current ramps up, the car detects that condition resulting in the message you see.
Have your electrician verify the gauge...
I get just over 60", but when the 2nd row is truly ALL the way forward, the front row moves forward as well. When I keep the drivers seat in a position that is comfortable for me to drive, and don't compress the second row seat cushion, there is about 57" left. I think your 48" sign will be no...
Still waiting for my X. My DS emailed me today saying it is in paint. My Tesla shows April to early May delivery. My wife waited a few hours before opening at the showroom to reserve a model 3. It will be her car.
As long as you have a credit card, you will be fine making a reservation on line. They don't ask for a copy of your drivers license until after you configure the car and are close to delivery.
Since they already have the 70 packs in production for the S, there is no reason they can't put them in the X today. There is no development that needs to be done.
I also just got a VIN assigned: 394x. Delivery in St. Louis, Missouri. 90D, Multi-coat red, Premium upgrade package, Autopilot, Tan leather seats (6), light headliner, Tow package, HiFi Audio.
Very excited, I have been waiting patiently for more than 4 years.
Bonnie, Thanks so much for all the info you have shared.
In this picture it looks like a parcel shelf could sit on the dark plastic piece when the third row is folded in order to conceal stuff under it.
Does the movable cargo floor behind the third row seat also fit up here?
Is there any other...
Replacing a 2000 GMC Yukon XL with 357,000 miles. Really would like folding seats, but I'll make due. Need to tow my boat a short distance twice a year. Will be driving entirely on sunshine with solar on both the main house and the lake house.
There is no new design. The original second row was always listed as three independent seats. All they are doing is leaving out the center one. The remaining two are the identical seats of the original design, no added arm rests or anything.
The new wording could just be a different way of saying that the third row is standard in the Signature cars. We really don't know what the production car options will be, since that design studio is not up yet.
I would love to have a flat credit card (or smaller) with an embedded RFID chip that could just stay in my wallet. No need to fumble with keys or a big fob, just walk up to the car and it unlocks itself, then I just drive away.
Same here. (also 6'2"). Just pull into a camp ground, hook up to the 14-50 for a charge, and be able to sleep in the back. At the reveal over 3 1/2 years ago, Elon talked about "a nearly Queen sized bed" in the back.
wk057,
Wonderful project! I have been following it for quite some time. Congratulations for getting all the solar on line.
I was wondering if you had considered splitting it into two independent systems? You already have two load panels, each with their own transfer switch. The benefit...
You need to pay attention to which side the electrical conduit is on, which determines which side the charge cable will hang from.
As I see it, there will just be the first spot on the near side next to the transformer, and the other 7 will be on the far side of the row.
The transformer is installed!
The paving is being completed:
The transformer connections are complete (just not turned on yet):
This site could possibly open Thursday or Friday.
As long as the utility gets the transformer set, this supercharger should be open in time for your trip. I will keep an eye on it and let you know when that happens. The I-70 cross country route is probably quite a bit more direct than any of the alternatives. It is 213 miles from the...
More progress!
The concrete has been poured for the light pole bases and the curbs on the sides.
The precast slab for the transformer has been set, with protective bollards next to it.
The equipment surround fence has been installed.
A bunch of bushes have been planted.
The wires have been...
The main concrete curb has been poured (they still need to pour the curbs on the sides and the light pole bases):
The wires have been pulled between the superchargers and the power distribution cabinet:
The power distribution cabinets (grey), and supercharger cabinets (white) have been placed on the slab:
They have snaked mule tape through the conduits (but no wires yet). Here is a close up of the bus bars in the distribution cabinet:
They are nearly done setting the forms for the concrete...
Update: Slab has been poured, getting a non-slip broom finish:
The charging pedestals bases are set in concrete, and adjusted to be precisely aligned using two string lines:
Something has to be keeping those vinyl posts plumb and at the correct height until the slab is poured. It is indeed concrete:
Fast-Setting Quikrete to be exact:
A few form boards, and this slab can be poured:
You added plenty - they actually worked on a Saturday! I am truly shocked!
They set the poles for the equipment surround fence. That looks like vinyl to me (at least on the outside).
I wonder if they are set in concrete or just gravel?
Looks like the electricians are done running the conduits.
Location of the transformer:
Meter socket and what will be the equipment enclosure:
Five charging pedestals propped up:
Underground conduit elbow next to utility pole:
Now we need the general contractor to come back and pour...
From the tire tracks in the slush / water puddles, it looks like possibly a truck pulling a trailer was there parallel to but away from the curb, and the Tesla had to pull in behind it to charge.
