DIY Trailer Harness for Model Y

One more share... this is how I gained back some clearance under the bumper for the chains vs. jamming the connector in that same recess. (hitch extender rated to 3500lbs)

DIY Trailer Harness for Model Y

@Synder have you tried out a brake controller yet? I bought this one and it worked great on my first trip with it. Sidesteps the need to send a signal back through the dashboard wiring harness. https://www.amazon.com/CURT-51180-Controller-Bluetooth-Enabled-Proportional/dp/B07JQ99SDD

DIY Trailer Harness for Model Y

@a2t2 last check, Tesla was still not selling this part so it has not been an option. eBay (or scrap Model Ys?) might turn those up as time goes on.... Can also keep an eye on Parts Catalog

DIY Trailer Harness for Model Y

@Synder very interested to see this post; excellent information! I stumbled through this myself a short time ago and got it working; it would have been very useful to have your cheat sheet of parts first! https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/posts/5320509/ I also see the trailer icon show up but...

Model Y Trailer Wiring Harness - Part Number?

In case people are interested, I've come across an eBay listing that had the Tesla part number for the 7-pin connector. This is the short cable that comes off of the existing Molex connector and provides the 7-pin trailer outlet: 1534249-00-A-003 Tesla service has not yet confirmed...

Model Y Trailer Wiring Harness - Part Number?

Hi thanks! This video (like many other resources online) is for the brake controller which is *after* you install the hitch and 7-pin connector on the rear end of the Model Y. They've purchased the Tesla package and it comes with the 7-pin controller and outlet. I found this diagram which...

Model Y Trailer Wiring Harness - Part Number?

Hello Tesla People! I've been hunting high and low for this. Like many of you I've ordered an aftermarket EcoHitch for my Model Y and am happy to work through the installation on my own. Re: a wiring harness, I have not found any 7-pin connector solutions and also can not see a reasonable way...

    Tesla Y trailer wiring harness

@Haemmer did you ever resolve this or find a model Y trailer harness? I am also looking for a proper 7-pin plug that goes into the existing outlet sitting at the model Y bumper. I found the model X part number (1046032-00-C)... just need the one for the model Y (or maybe this one is wired the...
