Tire consideration for a leased M3P (OEM T0 vs. not ...)

    I've got a '21 M3P so it has Uber 20x9, a 245 is a perfect fit :)

Tire consideration for a leased M3P (OEM T0 vs. not ...)

Yeah, I understand the general leasing aspects, returning to stock, etc., been doing this for quite some time, across 20+ vehicles :) Wear is absolutely a consideration, no biggie, I'm planning the tire change around the expected wear and mileage at return, so no problems there, obvious stock...

Tire consideration for a leased M3P (OEM T0 vs. not ...)

Howdy Folks! We've got a '21 M3P that will be returned sometime mid-2024, I'm thinking I'll want to do a fresh set of tires in the next 2-3 months, so that would mean it gets returned with whatever I get installed. My preference would be to move to a 245/35-20 vs. the stretched 235/35 OEM...

Anyone using slip-on spacers with extended shank lug nuts?

Pretty much any motorsports supply store has them (even through Amazon), but the 14mm slip on spacers for Tesla are usually packaged with them: https://modelplusstudio.com/products/h-r-wheel-spacers-for-model-3-model-y

Anyone purchase an ICE after your Model 3?

I've continued to ruminate over another ICE vehicle, and maybe at some point I'll still consider something special like a classic from the 60s or a GT4 for track weekends, but for all other cases, I won't go back to ICE, with the exception of a PHEV. That being said, I also won't be going with...

Official Tesla App for Apple Watch?

Yeah, and you can build pretty complex automations (aka "shortcuts") too, that are accessible via Siri. String together multiple events, read data from other sources for logic, etc., pretty neat stuff.

    Vendor Official Tessie app talk

Hey James! I saw one of the other Apple Watch apps now allows a Watch to be setup as a BT key (vs. just accessing the car through the network). Seems like a terrific option (especially for non-LTE Watches), any thoughts about this for Tessie?

Oh sorry, @MrFusion4 is correct, there is some minimum number of posts required for a few functions/area access, you must be under that threshold.

    Trade in

Model 3/Y leases do not have a buyout or trade provision, you can return the car to Tesla and pay any early termination fees (which at the moment are very high due to the price cuts, you can check this in the Tesla App), or transfer your lease to another person (not a dealer in the scenario you...

Confused by lease return payoff quote

Yep, they're adjusting that residual on the fly to adjust for the market, including their own significant price decreases. Back in the summer of '22, my early termination was $0, mid-Fall it bounced around $3K-4K, today? It's over $10K. I have a Rivian on pre-order, 16 months left on this...

Trade Rivian R1T for Plaid Model X/S

I see one R1T in the NC area, no R1S (they're mostly too new / just starting deliveries). Not unexpected, people jump on something new without thinking through the entirety ownership, i.e., cost (of a nearly $100K vehicle), a BEV that may not match their typical use case - or even just people...

App (iOS) v.14.6.1 Allows viewing any SuC in the world ... [?]

For example, I'm in St. Augustine, FL, but I scroll up to Atlanta, it refreshes and I get all the SuCs around the ATL area: And I can get SuCs anywhere in the US, and I scrolled across to the UK, and sure enough, getting details there as well. Neat!

App (iOS) v.14.6.1 Allows viewing any SuC in the world ... [?]

So this is new behavior, right? Now I can scroll, and as I do it shows SuCs in the general vicinity of the map center, and I was even able to scroll over and zoom in to different countries. I know this worked in the car itself, but I don't recall seeing this in the app until just now someone...

One thing I'd mention (this is for the OP as well), is with CarPlay, you can run both PlugShare and ABRP (A Better Route Planner) right on the car system: PlugShare ABRP FWIW, those apps are also terrific for general planning, and they're available on several different platforms (even...

    Lease Transfer Experience -caution-

Thanks for the information, I posted my M3P up for a lease transfer, it would avoid the early termination costs, but this sounds ridiculous (not the first time I've heard this either). @narkotic let me ask you this, when did you take possession of the car? I would be the "seller" in my case...

'21 Model 3 Performance, Lease Transfer/Takeover, $0 down, 9051 miles Looking to get out of my Tesla M3P, I could just return it, but the payoff has been bouncing around so figured I'd give this option a try. :) It's going away soon, so the only caveat is the timing for a transfer, if this is...

What's your next EV after Tesla?

I'm about 90% there, I haven't placed an order, I think I'm going to track one down lightly used. Tesla Finance told me to wait 5-8 weeks to transfer my lease?

Figured I'd just bump this existing thread. I'm about ready to get out of our leased Tesla, there's some amount due for an early termination (it's been as low as $0 and as high as $7K). It's not a ton, and the hassle may be well worth just paying and returning to Tesla (we have a SC about 30...

What's your next EV after Tesla?

Actually ... I might buy a very lightly used one, save a few thousand dollars, get it immediately / get out the Tesla much quicker. If we didn't have so much going on, there's one pretty local to me I'd go check out, but I need to focus on some end of the year delivery and travel/Xmas!

Returning lease but lease balance is greater than Vehicle Value and Tesla is charging the difference, does it make sense?

Thought I'd bump this to mention: Tesla does allow a lease transfer on a 3/Y, I'd assume since that's not a termination and nothing is mentioned in the fees section other than two fixed admin type fees, a transfer would circumvent the balance due (The fees appears to be $150 and $500, so $650...

Is it possible to get 250 miles on the interstate with a 2022 M3P?

Yeah, for our semi-recurring (12 or so in the last couple of years) airport trips out of Orlando/MCO, I do just that, either hit it up on the way there for a little juice (if I'm picking up), or on the way back (if it's all of us traveling). It's ~130 miles one way, right at coasting in on the...

Returning lease but lease balance is greater than Vehicle Value and Tesla is charging the difference, does it make sense?

The only time I've seen better is for Jeep, specifically Wranglers since they hold their value so well, the RV on our 4xe is 68 I believe (and doe lower/mid-tier Wranglers I've seen 70). Yeah, I saw the same thing, we have a '21 M3P, for most of this year, the quote for the amount due on an...

Is it possible to get 250 miles on the interstate with a 2022 M3P?

We go to Universal (Orlando) quite a bit, its right at 120 miles door-to-door (so to speak). We leave with 100%, most of the drive (I'd figure close to 95%) is highway miles (I95 / I4), where I usually drive right around 75. Depending on whether I'm a little under or over 75 by a few MPH, and...

I haven't done a good "hands on" with one yet, only seen a couple on the street. They have a real presence , enough unique design elements to make a notable impact, without looking overdesigned, or just, silly. Reviews seems to be pretty consistent about the very high F&F, sure, they've had...

There are! Dozens of them on YouTube, I reviewed a few before starting, just started with a "Replace AC filter Tesla Model 3" search. It's really very easy, the worst part is sort of standing on your head :D It's two plastic panels and one screw. If you want a little assistance with push...

Swapped them out, pretty easy. My originals were pretty nasty, the lower filter was actually stuck, had some mold on the bottom edge. Same here, just got 36.5, and 36.6 is on deck. FWIW, when I had x.24, I went from .5 to .6 in 2-3 days, and then 6. to .8 in about 2-3 days too. So maybe we'll get .6 pretty quickly. :)

Yeah, you know, if I had the space and time, I'd probably get another S2K for a weekend car, maybe do a hardtop for track use. That's the thing with some of these big ballsy cars, to really get something out of them on the street, you have to get into ticket territory (and attract a lot of...

MPP Comfort Coilovers - Do I need additional parts?

Yeah, I see quite a few, for < $200 I might pick up a front set, seems like something that would be easy to turn around if I wound up with a setup that didn't require them. Thanks for the clarification on the fitment (i.e., same for all Model 3s)

MPP Comfort Coilovers - Do I need additional parts?

I'm on stock '21 M3P brakes and Ubers (with original Pirelli). FWIW, I was going to do some 255/35 (vs. the stretched 235/35) on the stock wheels, maybe do a 5mm slip on in the front and a 14mm slip on with extended shank lugs, but that's on hold as I may wind up going with aftermarket wheels.

    Frunk opening by itself

It almost sounds like a short in the wiring/harness, like the switch is getting a bogus signal. Yeah, you do not want that to open at any kind of speed, I'd get service on it ASAP, emphasize the potential dangerousness of the issue (even if it hasn't happened while you're moving).
