Who makes gateway type devices for 400A service homes?

I believe Savant energy will do this for 400A service

    SPAN - Smart Electrical Panel

These are all first world problems for sure, but the idea of the span and being able to prioritize circuits on the fly during an outage is "in theory" pretty cool. It also depends on how often you might have outages, etc. I agree that it's a shame that the app cannot aggregate multiple panels...

    SPAN - Smart Electrical Panel

My suggestion would be to AVOID SPAN. I have a home with 400 amp service (2 x 200amp) in California and the installation has been a complete an utter nightmare. To make a long story short, our home prior to installation with SPAN had a 20kW solar array with 2 Powerwall 2s which all worked fine...

    Powerwall in New England ?

Yes, we are seeing near daily “events” for 0.1kW many days in a row. This is in southern RI. I was also happy to get a check from Tesla for the summer events in Feb/March of this year. We did also have some events here during winter as well, so I’m not sure what sort of time delay there will...

    Clear wrap installer

I would highly recommend Luis Oceguera at X-Act Auto Tinting in Ontario. He fully wrapped both my S and X in addition to tinting as well. His price was reasonable and the quality of his work excellent.

    Falcon Wing Door "stuck"

I had this happen in January and I could not get the drivers falcon door open (also took place on a busy Sunday). In an attempt of desperation, I found the first responder manual which shows a manual release just behind the speaker in the door. I pried off the speaker cover and pulled the cord...

    Glossy seat backs + kids

Yes, someone beat me to it. They are Clek seats and when the kids are older and no longer need the seat backs (and just the booster part), the back comes off. They are well made. On another note, I did end up getting my seat backs covered in Xpel and the car looks much nicer without the Brica...

    Firmware 7.1

Also installed this update 2.13.120 this morning. For some reason, I have been getting intermittent outages of the lefthandside "skip" and "rewind" buttons on the steering wheel. After the last update, the buttons no longer worked (in addition to loss of mute on pressing the scroll), now...

    Model X service plans

Hi, Has anyone heard any news regarding the service plans for the X? I am coming up on 60 days relatively soon and their website states plans must be purchased by that time. From what I've heard, they are still working those things out, but I thought I would ask if anyone has more concrete...

    Ultra high fidelity sound?

As an owner of upgraded stereo systems on both the S and the X, I can unequivocally state that the quality in the X is leaps beyond the S. The soundstage is better defined to say the least. I'm not sure anyone knows the difference between the standard and hi-fidelity upgrade other than Tesla...

Post Initial Problems with the Model X

No, I pointed it out to them, but they improved upon it at the last service visit. That said, I'm still hoping for some additional tweaks. After waiting for so long, I know many of us want our cars to be perfect (if there even is such a thing)...but, all in all, I'm thrilled with the car.

    Auto Presenting Front Door

yes, i did have that happen and the door partially popped open while I was talking to someone. After I walked far enough away, the door just closed itself. One thing I wish the car had was a way to open the trunk hands-free such as a foot wave under the bumper...but that's another discussion...

Post Initial Problems with the Model X

I remember reading about that as well...I do have a slightly larger gap on the right compared to left side that has improved since my last service visit. However, what bugs me more is the audible "thunk" on closure/latching with some irregular chaffing marks now appearing on the plastic hub...

Post Initial Problems with the Model X

Is anyone out there having issues with the trunk being off alignment and making a thump sound on closure? My X trunk does not close nearly as smoothly as my Model S and there is a mild chaffing of the plastic on the underside where it meets the latch. Just curious if anyone else is having...

    Wireless Phone Charging

I was just toying around with the wireless base charger I have...this one will actually fit into the holster once I change the plug for a micro USB. The side rails will also hold it in place and the phone can just rest against it (with all of the ludicrous mode caveats withstanding). If it...

    Auto Presenting Front Door

jason, i haven't had any such behavior that you're describing. i do regularly get the door to open differently depending on where is senses I am coming from-- shallow open on approach from the front and wider open when approaching from the trunk. if i'm hanging out in front of the car, after...

    Headrest moved into up position

Funny, I just noticed that both the headrests on both front seats are now raised. I also can't seem to figure out why or what seat position might have prompted this (even after toying with the seat controls on both sides).

    Wireless Phone Charging

Thanks for the pic! I have something similar in mind, but plan to install it against the base of where the iphone currently docks (threading the charging base cable through the port currently holding the lightning connector). I have the phone in a wallet case which I prefer to use and have...

    Wireless Phone Charging

I was curious if anyone has experimented with setting up a wireless charging device (Qi or otherwise) in their vehicle. The current phone charger port is not as ideal as I would like, but the configuration makes it possible to thread a cable to the USB port and place a charge pad in that...

    Auto Presenting Front Door

I wanted to reiterate my love for this new update...much-improved FWD, auto-open and close...I'm just waiting for the time when I'll leave the Model S with the door wide open and just walk away. On a different note, prior to the update, this past weekend, I did have an issue where the drivers...

    Glossy seat backs + kids

Do the kickmats take away from the look...absolutely. I couldn't agree more. I'm still trying to figure out what to cover them with and until then, this seems to work. I'm meeting this weekend with the guys that did my wrap, so I will ask them their thoughts on how best to protect the surface.
  23. S

    Glossy seat backs + kids

I have been using Brica Kickmats for the backs of the front seats and 2nd row (also use them in our S). That said, I will probably also look into some sort of 3rd party covering given the super shiny nature of the seat backs.

How are your Ultra White Seats looking?

They seem to hold up quite well (so far). I also have kids and was worried about this. The seats wipe up nicely with a soft damp rag and I haven't had any issues so far. If I had to make the decision again, I would keep the Ultra White. However, the biggest question is how these will weather...

    Tesla Model X Moments

Funny, I was thinking the same thing the other day. I went to my local supercharger to top up for a trip with the X-- I had intended to be there 25-30 minutes and ended up showing the car for over an hour and half! It was a fun experience for all around with many Tesla grins and shared stories...

Some Sig X owners have scheduled delivery dates in December 2015

Any 'Upgrade Signature' reservation holders know where they stand?

Having car wrapped prior to accepting delivery

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had a Tesla SC/delivery center allow the car to be sent to a detailer and "wrapper" for Xpel prior to accepting delivery. I have done this with other vehicles (non-Tesla) in the past without issue, but I would rather not have to take the time to drive back to...

    Buying Model S for RI

Hi there, Any one here have experience with buying a Model S for Rhode Island? I know there are no service centers in RI, so I would have to buy it online or via one of the stores in MA or CT. Anyone here in RI purchase a MS and have it delivered to their home? If I pick up the car in MA at...

    Suggestions for Kid-proofing MS

Hi all, Any tips on what sort of seat protector and kick mat is the best for the MS? Since many of the kickmats & seat protectors wrap the top around telescoping headrests, I thought that this might be a problem to find something suitable. Suggestions would be appreciated as I'm expecting...

Car wrapping and tint for new Model S

For me it's my OCD nature....it's the same reason I wrap my phone as well. I have another vehicle (an Audi q7) covered and on a few occasions it has covered any door dings and chips. 3M will replace the film and also cover the repair underneath. I would just like to find a place that does...

Car wrapping and tint for new Model S

Thanks for the quick responses! As much as I would love to take factory delivery and drive it down...the reality of my schedule and life with little kids makes that impossible. As far as the material they used for the wrap, was it 3m? What degree of tint did you guys go for? Thanks for the...

Car wrapping and tint for new Model S
