    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

I will not be updating any of our Teslas until there is confirmation of the extent of AP changes. The past dozen or so updates to my AP1 car have done absolutely nothing anyway.

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

I drove plenty of old MS loaner cars back in the day and no pre-9/2014 had anything but “dumb” cruise control. The first time I drove one it took me by surprise when it wasn’t decelerating for traffic up ahead.

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

Your last point makes it seem like they are including every single 2012+ vehicle to appease the regulators. Of course the update to a 2012 will do absolutely zero to further this recall. I highly doubt AP1 will be affected.

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2023/RCLRPT-23V838-8276.PDF Is anyone else concerned that Tesla will mess with our cars and neuter AP1 with their new autopilot recall? I enjoy using AP1 even more than my wife’s Y on my commute because it just works. It never tries to swerve to center itself...

Very odd steering wheel control button issues

Just an update: I repaired both the original left and right side steering wheel control modules with new scroll wheels and reinstalled them and now the voice button works (and NOT when I honk the horn). So these guys apparently need to be replaced in pairs only, unless I guess the software and...

Classic MS chrome deleting trunk trim completely

Thanks, I will try plastidip. I believe the process of removing the trim is very similar in X and S

Classic MS chrome deleting trunk trim completely

Any products/ideas for completely chrome deleting the trunk trim in early MSs? I want the look of the new S with the Tesla lettering also chrome deleted.

Very odd steering wheel control button issues

Just curious if you’d have some insight—if I swap back the old steering wheel volume button assembly would I expect the voice button to start working immediately or would there be a delay?

Very odd steering wheel control button issues

That’s actually very possible. I am getting the airbag in the mail soon but will try putting in the original set of steering wheel button modules first.

Very odd steering wheel control button issues

bump. I ordered a used airbag assembly, which includes the scroll buttons and associated trim. I suppose swapping that out will determine if the clock spring is bad. If it works then some wiring near the airbag assembly must have gone bad.

Very odd steering wheel control button issues

Video This happened after I replaced the left side button assembly because of a broken scroll wheel. As you can see the right side scroll wheel and voice button do not work at all, bottom button does. But when I honk it activates the voice!? I opened it up, replace the entire right side...

Steering wheel controls replaced still not working

sorry to hijack this thread but I replaced the scroll wheel on the left side and after that I got a very weird issue on the right side buttons. Video As you can see the scroll wheel and voice button do not work at all, bottom button does. But when I honk it activates the voice!? I opened it up...

Model S Plaid leaves me stranded; almost 30 days in service - No lemon law. What now?

I was just commenting this yesterday on Reddit—it seems like every major Tesla complaint is always from a brand new account and they always get reposted in the anti-Tesla forum there. Just like this one.

How to break a Tesla battery?

I know this will be controversial but I have to find out. I have a 2015 S 85 and the battery has degraded by more than 35%. Tesla refuses to replace the battery after a lot of back and forth and escalation. My warranty is ending in early January. I hear about a lot of 2015 batteries failing and...

    Suspension work, now tire rubs

Hello. I got a bunch of suspension work done on my S recently: front lower control arms, toe arms, front endlink, adjustable camber arms, and alignment. Now my front driver’s side tire rubs when turning at low speeds. Space between tire and front Space between tire and rear The passenger side...

    GPS tracking issue

Thanks for your insight. Could it also be the gyro system malfunctioning? GPS antenna failure seems like an easier issue to address, so I hope that’s it. I am going to start with replacing that.

    GPS tracking issue

It is possible for you. The Model S GPS antenna is near the back windshield.

    GPS tracking issue

Also sometimes it will suddenly snap back to the correct position after 30 minutes of being a quarter mile from the road I am traveling on.

    GPS tracking issue

2015 Model S. Weird GPS problem here, and wanted to get some feedback before I just start replacing stuff. When I travel north, 99% of the time my GPS position will stray from its real position within 5 minutes of the drive. This will cause AP to be really annoying as it periodically thinks I’m...
