About to order 255/50/19 Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 tires (non spec). Any considerations/ other recs?

Ahh man, I'm going down the tire rat-hole right now myself. Currently have the 20" martians but not entirely happy with how harsh the ride is. Was thinking of going down to Gemini's, or even based on Magellan's post, 18's! But not sure what tired to get if I go either way. What direction did...

Model Y rattles and noisy rear suspension

Woah I’m dealing with this right now too, (2022 MYP) sounds very similar, and driving me bonkers. Baby on the way and if I can’t solve this it looks like the car has to go, wife says it’s too “rough of a ride”, I agree with her. What’s weird is I just got adjustable shocks / coilovers...

How happy are you with your Martian wheels?

That's a really good question - I wonder too but alas too late now :) - This is good advice for anyone with a similar issue to get a road-force balance vs. just a traditional balance.

FS: T Sportline TS5 18" Model 3 - Flow Forged Tesla Wheel and Tire Package inc Michelin winter X-ICE - only 800 miles - like new.

Bump - still for sale - price drop ! 1800. Would also consider separating wheels and tires.

How happy are you with your Martian wheels?

Hey Jombolo - problem solved! (Although I took the nuclear approach vs. the long troubleshooting path). Last week I took the car in to my tire guy, twice. His diagnosis was that it just sounds like super loud tire noise and didn’t seem localized to a specific tire - also nothing wrong with the...

How happy are you with your Martian wheels?

Thanks so much for the thoughtful reply, I think I’m going to do exactly what you’ve said - confirm it’s not the wheels through a wheel repair place 1st, and then try swapping each tire with just 1 new tire, one at a time, (I hadn’t thought of doing it that way, but it makes perfect sense)...

How happy are you with your Martian wheels?

Quick update and to answer your question jombolo: I think at this point the answer is no, I’m not happy with the Martians, and no, I wouldn’t buy them again :( as much as I want to love them. The one saving grace is that I’m not sure yet if my issue is wheel or tire related (hoping it’s tires!)...

How happy are you with your Martian wheels?

lol I wasn't proposing to use tires off my Uberturbines, they're R21 and will _not_ fit r20 martians. I was just thinking if I did it again I would have ordered the Martian wheels with 275/40-20 instead of 255/40-20 (both recommended sizes for the Martian 20"). The 255/40's I have look a little...

How happy are you with your Martian wheels?

Yeah just to be clear - it wasnt really a vibration perse, it was more of a wha wha wha wha tire noise that was vibrating in my head :) Turns out the wheels did need balancing, have them back on the car and its much better - but still more tire noise than my acoustic foam uberturbine 21"

How happy are you with your Martian wheels?

Dropped the Martians off earlier today, picking up tomorrow morning - will send through a pic or two and update when they're back on the car tomorrow afternoon. I bought them on 4/25/22, and they were delivered 7/16/22 - I will say that Drew from Martian wheels was super communicative during the...

How happy are you with your Martian wheels?

I went from 21" ubertubines on my 2022 MY to 20" Martians, was super happy around town (way nicer/more forgiving) but also feeling vibration above 65mph on the freeway. I'm heading over to get them balanced today to see if that fixes the issue (for what it's worth, I had Martian mount and ship...

FS: T Sportline TS5 18" Model 3 - Flow Forged Tesla Wheel and Tire Package inc Michelin winter X-ICE - only 800 miles - like new.

FS: T Sportline TS5 18" Model 3 - Flow Forged Tesla Wheel and Tire Package inc Michelin winter X-ICE - only 800 miles - like new.

Thanks Daekwan! Appreciate the kind words. As far as for the Model Y - I don't believe these meet the load requirements, otherwise I'd be tempted to use them myself, albeit with larger tires.

FS: T Sportline TS5 18" Model 3 - Flow Forged Tesla Wheel and Tire Package inc Michelin winter X-ICE - only 800 miles - like new.

Asking $2000 (Paid $3186) Bay area pickup. Selling my Model 3 T-sportline TS5 18" Wheel and Tire, satin black - winter setup. Like new - Approx 800 miles used (two Tahoe trips from SF). Planned to do some heavy Tahoe trips to splitboard, hence the winter tires, ended up selling my 3 and getting...

Fixed!: Brand new Model Y rear passenger wheel well rattle!

Hey everyone, Thought this was interesting, new Model Y owner here, have put about 50 miles on the car so far and could hear a terrible rattle from my brake caliper cover on the passenger rear. Service was booked out until end of may, so I pulled the wheel off and decided to poke around. Low...
