Pedestrian Warning System - Self Install

So my connector was terminated and just had a blanking plug in it, no need to re-terminate. My car was also one of the first 2021-refresh cars from America at the end of 2020. The Tesla Service Centre near me got me to sign a waver but then just charge me for 10 minutes or so to do the...

I go past this site on my way to work. It's had 6 Gridserve chargers installed for the past 3-4 months but they have yet to be turned on and have railings around them still. No sign of any groundwork for other charging though.

Drivers seat has turned very uncomfortable at 90k miles

Sorry for the delay in replying. I requested the below part numbers in the app and the associates quantities. The service manual for the replacing the cushion is here - Model 3 Service Manual | Tesla. It took me about 2 hours, but probably could do again now in an hour. Most of it was...

Drivers seat has turned very uncomfortable at 90k miles

I did this but still digging in at the back. Just bought a new seat pad from Tesla to install this week. Feeling the difference, the foam on the side bolsters is a lot firmer and supportive on the new pad. Will upload pictures this week.

    Driver seat creases in bolster

I have a M3LR 2021 and now at 100k miles. The seat base has started to crease on the right bolster. I think it's more of an issue with the foam base as after driving for about 30 minutes I start to get pain on my hip. You can also feel that the foam is compressing too much and the metal of the...

    Service Centre assistance with self-repair

    Highland test drives

I test drove a Highland RWD this morning as well. Coming from a Model 3 2021 Long Range. Firstly, it only had 13 miles on the clock and as such the Autopilot hadn't finished calibrating. Until calibration is done the automatic driving direction detection cannot be enabled. The feature is a beta...

Drivers seat has turned very uncomfortable at 90k miles

Currently have about 96k miles in my Model 3. Recently I have noticed the seat has become very uncomfortable, and can feel it pushing on lower hip/joints, especially on longer drives. I am only 26 so its not a matter of ages. Has anyone replaced the seat foam? I’ve seen a few people say they...

What is the most efficient AC charging speed?

I assumed that keeping the MCU active whilst charging would take up a fair chunk. Let's just say certain energy tariffs give you increased off peak windows if you charge at a slower rate, thereby reducing cost of home energy usage ;)
  19. H

What is the most efficient AC charging speed?

So I often charge at the minimum current of 5A with a line voltage of 240V, leading to a 1.2kW charging speed. My charger can output at 32A but wondering whether I am losing much in efficiency by charging at a lower current as the onboard AC/DC converter will inherently have losses. If...

    [UK] 2023.44

I can concur with the previous comment, when moving at speed the slow downs when passing in the fast lane are dramatically reduced (1 in 250 miles of driving), but when going slow it would constantly highlight cars in the slower lane and stop for them, even if they weren't moving. This was after...

It's not just leaking but I had issues with wind noise from a wind screen replacement. Over 40 there was a whistling sound coming from the centre dashboard. Ended up getting Tesla to replace it.

Has anyone had Front Upper Control Arms replaced for free out of warranty?

Thanks for the info. I hadn't really looked at other options other than Tesla. I still have 3 years left on an extended warranty from the dealership I bought the car from so I have to get it repaired at Tesla.

Has anyone had Front Upper Control Arms replaced for free out of warranty?

Had my FUCA's replaced today. Nice quick service. Only cost £179 for both nearside and offside arms to be done. Asked them specifically to use the new part numbers for the cast aluminium arms, Service Tech said he didn't even know they had them. Hopefully won't need to be replaced for the...

    Are the Hankook tyres magic?

I have driven roughly 21000 miles since I bought my M3 LR used. The tyres started off with around 5.5mm of tyre wear and now, just before I get an MOT, they are only at ~3.5mm. Maybe I was lied too when I was told EVs chew through tyres. Don't get me wrong, almost any traffic light I am...

Has anyone had Front Upper Control Arms replaced for free out of warranty?

Long story short, I have a relatively high mileage Model 3 that is covered by a 3rd party warranty with Marshalls (administered by Car Care Plan). My front upper control arm ball join on the near side has just started to squeak, and so I went to the warranty company to get them to agree the...

Model 3 Creaking Sound Rear Seats Fix

I have been experiencing creaking coming from the rear seats of my Model 3 (21 model year) since I bought it used a year ago. It appears normally as a leather-on-leather rubbing sound coming from the offside rear corner, but then when the body is flexed going up a hill and taking a corner it...

    Front suspension Squeak

I have a Model 3 70 plate (21 model year) and never had the issue but a friend has the same vehicle, mere 300 apart on the VIN and had the upper control arm squeak. He is out of warranty so we took the wheel off and released the pinch bolt and moved the ball joint in all directions. This...

Pedestrian Warning System - Self Install

Yeh I will probably do this.
