You gotta be kidding me. Electricians won't add a Tesla wall connector on the backup side of ESS

I have 2 ACs on 2 Powerwalls in a full home backup setup. I agree that they would run down the batteries pretty quickly but to me, the real benefit is that if there is an outage during the day (such as a brownout in the summer here in SoCal), my 11 kW solar system can comfortably run both AC...

    $5500 main panel upgrade??

Thanks Wayne, that all makes sense. With one EV I don’t come anywhere near 100A. If I get a second EV, I am probably still ok (using the charging connector that comes with Tesla MX and draws 32A and comfortably charges the car overnight). And if for whatever reason I need more than 100A, I can...

    $5500 main panel upgrade??

I have NG heat and dryer and no plan to go electric on those. If my need increases going forward, I can easily relocate non-essential circuits (like the EV) back to the main panel and only back up 100A of loads. Or I can upgrade the panel then and replace the short run from the main panel to...

    $5500 main panel upgrade??

What Vines said. Main panel needs to accommodate a 200A branch breaker or lug kit to connect the gateway. My brand new Siemens panel did not. The label inside the panel should specify amperage of compatible breakers. edit - just saw your photos - your maximum branch breaker is 100A. That is...

New Tesla Solar install .. some questions

It’s a good idea to get the SolarEdge app. That is how I found out Tesla did not properly pair one third of my panels and they were not producing at all.

    Number of Strings

My SE app shows all 33 panels on one string. I had a tech out for a different issue and asked him about it. He said that in fact there are three physical strings but for whatever reason it was mapped as one string when commissioned. All panels produce well so I am guessing it’s fine.

New system underproducing/SolarEdge app layout not as expected

Actually yes. Tesla came out today and fixed it. Not entirely clear what the problem was. The tech said the wiring was all fine but he could also only see 21 panels on the inverter so he re-paired them all and that did the trick. My production went up 50% immediately and I can see all panels in...

New system underproducing/SolarEdge app layout not as expected

Thanks for the responses. I am pretty confident one third of my panels are not connected. I put a call into Tesla. I could write a book on all the things they screwed up, so this is just another chapter...

New system underproducing/SolarEdge app layout not as expected

Thanks - I do have that in the browser. However, only one string with 21 panels.

New system underproducing/SolarEdge app layout not as expected

Thanks. There is no Show Tree in the app or browser.

New system underproducing/SolarEdge app layout not as expected

Thanks for the responses. Yes, the system generates about 5 kW between noon and 1 pm. My daily production on perfectly sunny days has been around 27 - 30 kWH. There are no obstructions - I get a nice smooth curve on sunny days.

New system underproducing/SolarEdge app layout not as expected

I would appreciate your thoughts on this. I have a new 11.2 kW system (33 panels at 340W, mostly S/SW facing). System has been running since November, though I just got PTO last week and SolarEdge account this week. My peak production on a sunny day in November/December was about 5.2kW. I am...
