Kicked out of the FSD Beta! (Long Post)

I got my third and final strike the other day due to new v11. I was trying to find the location of a setting that changed in the new software. I couldn’t even change the music without the damn thing screaming at me. It is way to sensitive. I should be able to complete standard car operations...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Right! Like it’s such a shock that tesla sold record credits with record deliveries. There is no reason that they should be viewed as a bad thing. The credits are doing exactly what they were designed to do, accelerate the transition to electric vehicles.

Model Y SR factory installed hitch bike rack recommendations

I am really interested in this rack. It is at the top of my list due to it’s compactness for a 4 bike configuration. Did you have any issues installing the hitch pin and lock? I have the tesla factory installed hitch and I have read of some issues installing the hitch pin and lock due to the...

    Model Y Hitch depth

I thought I would resurrect this post. I really want to get the Saris SuperClamp EX 4. I have looked as other bikes racks and I really like the compactness of the Superclamp. When you get into 4 bikes the other manufacturers stick out much further. Anyway, I was doing some digging on the...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

To this point, they will have to mature at some point but the question is how long will that be. I see Tesla as a modern day General Electric. GE ran the table for around 100 years. They use to make anything and everything. Unfortunately their time has come to an end and the business in now in...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

So I have been thinking about my long term holding of TSLA. I’ve been an investor since 2013 and have not sold a single share (only accumulated more) and don’t plan on doing so until 2030 at the earliest. Then I started think, once Tesla is a mature boring company, they will most likely start...

Curbed 20” Induction rims / Replacement question

Just touched it up with some flat black touch up paint I found at O’reillys. Actually surprised at how well it covers it up. Hard to see unless you are looking for it, even up close. May end up leaving it on for a while to see if it happens again.

Curbed 20” Induction rims / Replacement question

I ended up doing just this. Found a like new not refinished wheel for $550 including shipping on eBay. The refinished ones were only a $100 cheaper. New wheel should be here Thursday.

Curbed 20” Induction rims / Replacement question

Thanks for the info OCJeff. I was hoping to get away with something closer to $500 but I’m sure it will be every bit of $750.

Curbed 20” Induction rims / Replacement question

Yeah, the problem is where I live there are no local shops. I would have to mail it in somewhere. By the time you add up the cost of shipping and how long the car would be out of service it’s no longer worth it. Additionally I had a bad experience in the past where I had a wheel refinished and...

Curbed 20” Induction rims / Replacement question

Well the wife murdered one of her 20” induction rims on her less than one month old Y on a curb tonight. There is also a tear in the sidewall of the tire so it most likely should be replaced as well. She didn’t just rub the rim of the wheel but she actually scraped up two of the spokes pretty...

    Model Y Heat stopped working

Service center finished up my car today. They replaced the AC Compressor, Supermanifold and Sensors. Service advisor said that even though my Model Y was a new build (1/25) it had an old serial number on the compressor. He was kind of dumbfounded why my new build had an old version of the part...

    Model Y Heat stopped working

I’m one of the newly delivered vehicles with the failure. Took delivery on 2/10 (build date 1/25) failure occurred on 2/12. Service advisor on 2/15 told me that they have a new version of the parts to be replaced. The big question, if this is in fact true, why did my new build not have the...

    Model Y Heat stopped working

If the error is not being displayed when the heat is not working, it may be another issue than the common sensor / compressor failure. This may be why Tesla is telling it is fine. Unfortunately you may have a harder less common issue to diagnose.
  20. S

    Model Y Heat stopped working

Look for the climate keeper error on the climate control screen. All heat failures display this error when not working. I Attached the photo to my service request.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

if they did not decouple from the national grid there would not have been an issue. Proof of this is that parts of Texas not on the ERCOT grid are doing just fine. Power could have been feed from other parts of the country as plants within the grid began to shut down. This is a poster child of...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Yeah, I read the entire thread. My point is that he is making a bad faith argument about renewable energy. This is how he summed up the thread: Even though nuclear and natural gas had issues, it is somehow all renewables fault. The real culprit here it that they disconnected from the...

Brand new Model Y no heat!

UPDATE: Service center reached out to me on Monday and said they have already ordered the parts. I was told they will replace the A/C compressor with a newer version. Considering that I only had the car for two-days why wasn’t the newer version already installed? Anyway, I was asked to drop of...

Do Winter Heater Failures Portend Summer A/C Failures?

As new Model Y owner experiencing heat failure after owning the car for two-days and 180 miles the issue is real and is still occurring in new builds. Sales advisor said it is common on Model Y and new Model 3s. He used terminology of “sporadic but common.” To your question, the two-days we...

    Tax credit (Green ACT)

I’m hoping for this as well. Ordered 1/16 took delivery 2/10. Not holding my breathe but first of the year would be logical. The problem with the way the bill is structured now is it incentives people to wait to purchase EV’s which could hurt overall EV adoption which is counter to the whole...

Brand new Model Y no heat!

Yeah, he has been really good to work with. Other than this issue, the buying experience with the Model Y was fantastic compared to when I got my Model 3 in 2018. My Model 3 involved rejection of cars, last minutes rescheduling, cancelations, and pure lack of communication. This time around I...

Brand new Model Y no heat!

Scheduled my appointment which is showing about a month out before they can get the car in. I spoke to my sales advisor and he is going to have the service team reach out to me on Monday as it is a critical issue. Sales advisor said that this is a common issue with Y’s and new 3’s. He said...

Brand new Model Y no heat!

As a Tesla shareholder since 2013 and a multiple Tesla owner, I say with all conviction that yeah, maybe they should suspend sales of all Model Y until they figure it out. At the very least they shouldn’t have rolled it forward to the Model 3. The alternative is a mass recall of potentially...

Brand new Model Y no heat!

Yeah, I agree about starting a new thread. I couldn’t find the other thread when I made my original post as it was buried in the user interface subsection. Mod feel free to move my thread. However this is an important enough issue that it should not be buried in a subsection IMO.

Brand new Model Y no heat!

This isn’t a misaligned trim piece or body panel issue. This is no heat in below zero weather which can be deadly. I saw the rumblings of this issue throughout the forum and some of the YouTube videos and thought to myself that this is a severe enough issue that it should be resolved quickly...

Brand new Model Y no heat!

Vin 108xxx. Build date was 1/25. Yeah this is nothing to be dismissive about. Luckily there are heated seats which help a little but the car never got above 32 degrees their entire ride home. My daughter is still in a booster seat so the heated seat is worthless. This is serious item that has...

Brand new Model Y no heat!

Looks like I am one of the luck ones...... We just picked up the wife’s brand new Model Y on Wednesday and today (Friday) she experienced the heat system not working. She had a 45 minute drive home with my two kids (6 and 10) in 5 degree F weather with the vents blowing ice cold air. Not...

    Charging two Teslas

Thanks everyone for all the info. I decided to run with 48 amps on my car with the HPWC and run the wife’s car using the corded connector and limiting it to 30 amps. I like to keep the UMCs in the cars in case of an emergency which is why I opted to buy the corded connector. The wife’s car can...

    Charging two Teslas

This is good to know. I was looking for information on the corded connector but could not find anything which is why I was assuming that it would pull 32 amps same as the current mobile connector. Is this information listed anywhere on Teslas site? Knowing that it pulls 40 amps does change the...

    Charging two Teslas

My house originally only had a 100 amp service. I upgraded it to a 200 amp services a few years ago and added the 100 amp subpanel in the garage at the same time (it was 60 amp). Other than adding the Teslas, no loads have changed to the house. Since I never had an issue with the 100 amp...

    Charging two Teslas

    Charging two Teslas

I have a long commute and typically arrive back at home with about 20% charge in the summer and commonly end up at 5% remaining in the winter. I charge to 90% every day. It takes about 6 hours to charge. I do get home as late as 8:00 pm often enough which puts charging complete at about 2 in the...

    Charging two Teslas

Just the garage door opener, a few fluorescent tube lights and number of standard 110 outlets throughout the garage. There is nothing else constantly running.

    Anyone ever run out?

I did not actually ran out of charge but came very close one time. I made it 5 miles beyond 0% charge. I pulled into the garage and it died as soon as I came to a complete stop. what happen is I parked the car for an hour in winter at a SOC just below 20%. When I came out it had dropped to 15%...

    Charging two Teslas

I have a question about charging two Teslas at once. I currently have a Model 3 and the wife will be getting a Model Y tomorrow. Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

This is a great video and spot on. I loved my 2003 e46 M3 so much that I put up with a kids carseat in the back (yes two door). I had the car before kids but didn’t want to get rid of it so I powered through it. I thought I was a life long BMW member. Got the wife an X3 when the kids came along...
