I believe it used to say something to this effect on Tesla’s Connected Solutions page. Now it just says something like “performance will depend on your system and other factors.”

Thanks for clarifying my lack of clarity. I would add too that if your solar panels are producing more than your house is using during an event, that export is also added to your event average along with your Powerwall export.

Yeah I shouldn’t have said grid in that sentence. Power to your house during an event counts towards you average event export since if it wasn’t coming from your battery you would be using it from the grid anyways… its all about reducing the strain on the grid.

The payout is based on average kw to the grid during events. So as long as you participated in all the events, your average is not lowered by how many events there were in a season.

Even though the app said the ACH would take 5-7 days, the deposit posted in my checking account yesterday. One day after asking for the payout in the app. 🤷‍♂️🎉

I second these observations on our PW2s. We see the same numbers now. A few years ago when they we installed though it was always about 5kw per PW regardless of mode.

This seems to be for Eversource. Connected Solutions for National Grid has not changed.

Like @nyprepper said, you can’t charge the PWs in this setup. But this is the setup supported by Tesla. I have the same setup. In four years I have not had to run the generator and all grid down situations have been navigable without just the PWs we have. My generator transfer switch is setup...

If your 200A main panel is is now fully backed up from the gateways (ie - main panel from before Powerwall install was turned into backup loads panel after install). And the sub panel and generator isolation switch are wired into the 200A panel, then yes you can run your generator just like...

I don’t remember seeing any stacking specifics on the spec sheet like there used to be for the PW2.

My app always opens to the last used, unless I force quit the app, or use it on a device with less RAM and the app running in the background is purged from memory by memory management.

Same here. iPhone 15 Pro loads the animation fast. iPad mini 6 never really loads unless you walk away for ten minutes.

SMART is a declining rate block program. If all the blocks are filled there is. $0 rate and as they fill the rate above $0 are lessened. Since 2020 they have filled mostly. If there is any space left to sign up in a block you would find it here...

This is what I would bet on. Essentially a PW3 that they leave so parts out of so they get economy of scale in manufacturing only one box and can retire the PW2. Let’s call it the PW3- .

Event discharged 5-7pm as scheduled. So that was a weird first. Maybe the demand was so high during the day that they changed the charging behavior so that the grid had less demand all day. 🤷‍♂️

The app doesn’t control anything. The app is just an interface. The gateway in the Powerwall (separate or integrated with PW+) install controls the drive on solar feature and determines when and where the power goes.

This seems like a really basic toggle Tesla could, and should add to their Drive on Solar feature.

Realize not completely relevant since I’m not in CA. But the docs you reference here with mounting specs have been online since at least my PWs were installed in 2020, 36” above grade and 10” apart.

Looks like an inverter cooling issue from what I’ve seen with other posts of similar issues here. You must have more than one inverter and that is why production doesn’t drop completely off when one of them is overheating during peak generation.

Dude, you either want the Powerwalls for backup or to make some money with Connected Solutions. The argument you keep making seems to be with yourself. Pick one or the other.

As others replied, events have always worked this way. The solar for the whole day charges the batteries only until they are full then the solar will power the house and go back to the grid. Now there are just graphics in the app showing this. I for one love the connected solutions program and...

My gateway buffered data during nearly a week long internet outage we had due to an ice storm last winter. I’ve also seen the reverse happen and data disappear even though it was once there. After a server issue at Tesla in 2021, we lost all historic data in the app before June 2021.

No guessing needed. The event payout is based on average kw over the length of the event times the dollars per kw in your Connected Solutions contract. See earlier discussions in this thread going back two years for more detail.
