How can I make the “home” location more accurate

Presumably you can find your house when your right beside it!
  2. R

Are you satisfied with the range you get?

Some people just like to complain.
  3. R

    Black rubber stoppers

Could they be related to the bump stops found along the rear hatch? I would check there.

Autopark is finally here! 2023 MYLR

Does auto park require enhanced autopilot or FSD? Have to turn on any special settings?
  5. R

    Model 3 Road Noise

What specifically is the lubricating product you used for the rubber gaskets around the doors and windows?

Really getting annoyed at Tesla - delivery experience

Get used to it. The rules and conditions change monthly and without notice I.e. pricing, incentives, etc. It’s maddening!!

    Wall Charger

Why don’t you call a couple of electricians in your town and get cost estimates on the work needed to be done? Seems silly to be asking for cost ideas from across the pond.

Hips...Easier to get in and out of a Model Y than a Model 3/

Recently traded a 2022 M3 for a 2024 MYLR mainly due to my difficulty in entering and exiting the M3. Once I was seated in the M3 the car was a dream to drive. The MY is just so much easier on the body and still very nice to drive.

Trade my white seats for black ones - 2024 Model Y

You are showing both YOUR age and ignorance. Well done!
  10. R

Will Tesla Service Center replace rear hatch/trunk lid?

I would think if there is a manufacturer defect in the rear hatch and the SC agrees, then it would be replaced or repaired under warranty.
  11. R

    Even Trade-In from 2023 to 2024 Model Y

Trust the Tesla trade-in estimate at your peril! My bet is this estimate will be appreciably lower at the point of delivery.

My Experience Taking my Model Y down to 0%

And what battery science facts are you basing your opinion on?
  13. R

My Experience Taking my Model Y down to 0%

With reasonable care and attention, I feel confident about not running out of battery. Certainly didn’t need to run my MYLR battery to 0% for me to feel confident. Your exercise seems unwise per Tesla’s recommendations re: maintaining battery health.

    GYEON LeatherShield - Stay Away

I just applied Gyeon Leather Shield to the white seats of a 2024 MYLR and, surprise, the white seats stayed pristine white. As usual, there is a lot of anecdotal misinformation perpetrated on these forums that gullible people take as fact. EV charging behaviors, battery degradation, the use of...

Gyeon LeatherSheild Cermaic Coating reapplication how to?

Directions state to clean the seats well and remove items like crumbs etc. Only then should you re-apply another coat. The Gyeon leather cleaner would work fine before applying the ceramic coat.

Windshield cracking, could it be a manufacturing defect?

Similar situation happened to me after an ice storm and blasting the defrost on front windshield. Developed two large cracks near the lower mid-section of the windshield. Made an insurance claim since I have a windshield replacement policy but never thought to make a Tesla warranty claim instead.

Credits: Enticing us to get Acceleration Boost?

I just got 10K loyalty points for trading in a M3 for a 2024 MYLR.
  18. R

Credits: Enticing us to get Acceleration Boost?

Kinda in the same boat. I recently purchased a 2024 MYLR and received 10000 loyalty credits. To me, the acceleration boost is simply not worth using credits on. Paying $2000 for a software upgrade to go 0-60 0.5 second faster is ludicrous. The stock MYLR is plenty fast when it needs to be. Just...

    Charging cable management?

Seems like much ado about nothing. The obvious answer has already been mentioned and now someone will opine as to why it can’t be done.

    Model Y Repo

Can’t you call someone at the nearest Tesla Service Center and see if you can arrange immediate payment and avert the repo?
  21. R

    Even Trade-In from 2023 to 2024 Model Y

Don’t count on Tesla following through with their $40K trade in estimate. Will likely end up being less.
  22. R

Trading in my M3 for MY - Sales process is a JOKE!

Took delivery of an inventory 2024 MYLR Stealth Grey/White seats/tow today with a trade-in of 2022 Model 3 LR in pristine condition with 22K miles on it. Initial trade in estimate was $28,100 but final amount was $25,500 since the techs had to remove frontal PPF to get the car back to factory...

    Considering Model X purchase

For chauffeuring a dog that big around, I’d look for another vehicle instead of trying to modify a $100K Tesla. Seems crazy!

Rear Glass - Slightly Higher Where It Meets The Roof

May try adjusting the 4 bump stops on the rear hatch to see if you can even out the gaps.

    Finally got to Zero!

Why is this occurrence newsworthy and of interest?
  26. R

Replacement side and rear view mirrors that aren’t dimmed/filtered?

+1 on the Suma Performance mirrors. Best mod I’ve done for 2021 Model Y. Really boosted the safety and visibility factor tremendously.

Any recommendations to help make an automated car wash a less stressful experience?

Take a Xanax tab an hour before you go thru the car wash. Everything will turn out fine.

Curious supercharging recommendations for M3 SR+

You are always free to make more frequent charging stops with less duration at each stop. On a road trip, I try and keep my charging stops to 20 minutes or less.

2023 MY LR - Wife wants to drive the car

Have you considered consulting the owners manual on how to add driver profiles to your vehicle?

Traded Model 3 for new Model Y

The inane lecture from you is so refreshing. Must be insufferable to be around you.

Traded Model 3 for new Model Y

I have a 2022 M3LR and wife has a 2021 Model YLR and I've been struggling of late over whether or not to trade or sell my Model 3 and get a new MY. Problem is I really enjoy how the M3 drives and handles and I don't enjoy entry/exit from a low vehicle despite using not so easy entry/exit...

Best way to precondition / Charge for retired people

OP….I don’t think you are going to find a definitive answer to your inquiry using this forum. To many differing opinions and to much toxic attitude. You may want to contact Tesla directly with your question and describe your situation and concerns. Rick

    Battery Depreciation at 7000 miles

I wish people would stop using changes in the miles/% numbers on their screen as an indication of battery degradation. Seems to be so many simple minded Tesla owners out there who refuse to take the time and educate themselves about EV batteries.

Front Driver Seat Side Bolsters Flattening

Well you could either lose about 40 lbs or buy a Honda CRV. You’ve got options!

    2022 M3 LR...First 1500 mile road trip (3k round trip)...suggestions?

Stop talking to friends who don’t know what they’re talking about re: your EV trip. Have done several cross country trips in our Teslas and it’s always been super easy, fun and satisfying.

    Model Y tire rotation schedule

I have mine rotated every 6500 miles per recommendation of Costco tire center. No issues.

    Battery Degradation question

Not sure why people are so obsessed with trying to measure (inaccurately by the way) battery degradation in their low mileage vehicles. Simply looking at the stated range next to the SOC % of the battery does not measure degradation. It seems through extensive testing by several sources, the...

    OEM Wide Angle Side Mirrors

No, I have not been bothered by sun glare or beams at all. If you’re worried about that possibility, a lot of folks have had good luck with the blue tinted mirrors. Yes my driver’s and front passenger door windows were tinted when I had PPF installed.
  39. R

    OEM Wide Angle Side Mirrors

I can wholeheartedly vouch for the Suma mirrors on the Model Y. I use the ones without the blue tint as my feeling is the “auto dim” feature is overrated. The blind spots especially when changing lanes were greatly improved. Rick

    Ear pain/Pressure help

I went to Home Depot a couple of days ago and picked up some 5/16 OD tubing now wondering if I should exchange it for the 3/8 OD tubing since I haven't started this project yet on my wife's 2021 Model Y. I got the sense from watching the video that the 3/8 OD was a bit tight and difficult to...

Fixed my squeaky seat (issue I haven't seen on the forums)

That dark metal clip situated on the very top middle was making my passenger seat squeak and I taped it so it was immobile and that cured the squeak in my case. Hope this is helpful.

    Model 3 Road Noise

How is the material staying in place with the door opening and closing frequently?
  44. R

    Model 3 Road Noise

Is it possible to take a picture from a greater distance to better understand the location of where to place the sound deadening material? Thanks
  45. R

    Maddening rear crackling noise

Yes. Removed the front passenger seat headrest and then the seat back panel. Secured a metal clasp near the top middle with tape to keep it from rattling and also secured wire harnesses in seat back for good measure. No more squeaking sounds.

    Insurance in Washington State

I live near Vancouver, WA and have Amica insurance for both our Model 3 and Y. No issues.
  47. R

    I don’t fit in a Model 3

I’m 6’0” and 205, 33” inseam and I have to sit on the edge of the driver’s seat first and then swing my legs in. Reverse when exiting car. Could never figure out a good easy entry setting to make ingress and egress easier. I wish the M3 didn’t sit so low. Once inside, it’s pretty comfy except I...

How can I permanently disable automated braking?

I have a 2021 MY LR and 2022 M3 LR and I don’t use autopilot or TACC when driving either vehicle. Mine and my wife’s safety comes first. I did not buy two Teslas because I was enamored with AP and TACC. That said, if Tesla successfully figures out a way to reliably eliminate PB, then for long...
