The model 3 performance should lose less value if you buy it at 40k. thats how much they are used right now. highland will depreciate like every other tesla. buying one at 48k will depreciate quickly.

summon is dumb and doesn’t work well. I never used it. Navigate on autopilot is also not worth 6k. It just navigates you off an exit but you still have to pay attention, you might as well just be driving yourself. Same goes for lane change.

May I ask why you got enhanced auto pilot? It’s not worth it imo. I had FSD and I really only used the regular AP.

I have a feeling they will increase prices when that comes out. I dont see the M3P going lower than it is right now. I'll take it with the 7500 credit all day.

They lowered the regular LR price. Difference is 10k between that and the performance now, wow. Too many people ordering the performance? I wonder why they did that.

My real estate taxes aren’t high at all. I pay 1500 a year and I live 10 minutes from the beach. No income tax either. Florida is very cheap to live in, especially considering the weather and beaches we have.

dont hold your breath on the tax credit guys. The bill would need 60 votes in the senate to pass, meaning 10 republicans would need to be on board. I find that highly unlikely.

the 40k income limit is for used cars. And presumably not directed towards teslas.. it's for bolts, etc

No it wouldn’t be retroactive. Since there is a cap, they will track it by VIN. So only the new cars manufactured after bill passes will apply. Idk if I could hold out, it would be smart, but there’s a chance it won’t pass.

It’s limited by software. They don’t want the boost to be as fast as the performance.

I'm not worried about it, I think they will fix it via software update. First year with a heat pump, they will adjust.

It's my understanding that the acceleration is purely software. The range is affected by the wheels, the size, their weight, and the aerodynamics of them. Ignoring lead foot, no the boost will not affect range. But lead foot is real, and it will affect range.

I have a brand new wheel cap replacements, I bought them right before they made the change to the new ones. I changed my order from a LR to a performance so I do not need it anymore. I was going to return, but figured someone on here might want them instead of the new ones.

From what I have read, it doesn't seem worth much unless they had horrible luck. The model 3 seems very reliable. That being said - I think I am going new because the savings are less than I originally calculated. And over a 3 - 4 year span, I think the used car might actually end up costing...

I know the differences between the two. I have driven both of them as well. This is specifically a new vs used question, and more specifically because the 2021 has more changes to it.

Hello Need some opinions on buying a 2019 stealth performance, or buying a 2021 long range awd. The 2019 has 20k miles and 30 months on the warranty left, and the overall transaction would save me $6k over the 2021 model. I live in Florida - not sure how much the heat pump will help me. Thoughts?
