Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

to be completely honest, I would much prefer they work on keeping the max horsepower band at high speed by giving M3P carbon sleeve motors. I'd rather have a constant 500 HP at high speed than lose 30% of it past 90 mph (and watch ICE cars take over)

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

The fade comes from 1. current M3P uses DOT3 brake fluid. 2. Poor brake pad. 3. non metal brake hose and 4 aero dynamic wheel cover that traps the heat inside the brake system. Easy after market fix but I do hope Tesla addresses this issue. Stock M3P isn't track/spirited driving ready. It's...

Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

I do like most of the refresh on the Highland but they really shoulda add HUD and redesigned the center console to maximize the storage space. I prefer the open space for center console, not closed. Volvo does a good job on the center console design imo.

Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

It's really easy to change the cabin filter yourself on the current model 3. Way easier than getting a girl to right swipe on you on Tinder

you know you can peel those letters and the T in the front off right? I did that with my last M3P. looks much nicer without those letters and T

Discussion: Model 3 and Y price drop Jan 2023 / April 2023 / Oct 2023 and All other Pricing Speculation going forward

why does the price change affect your ability to order or not? It's a company car isn't it? The company is paying for it regardless.

    Model Y Performance Wheel Specs

I have Advan Racing 18*9.5J on my M3P, I'm sure 19*9.5J for Model Y would save you a ton of unsprung weight and they look super nice.

Long term being away, plugged or unplugged?

Hi guys, So…I will be out of the country for a good 6-10 months depending on the assignment situation. No one will have access to my garage to help charge or drive around when I’m away so I have few questions regarding my M3P 1: will the car will be drivable after I return without needing any...

Aftermarket bucket seat installation, need help

Hi all, Does anyone here have installed aftermarket seat on their M3 before? I just installed a Recaro Sportster CS seat on the driver side and the system is telling me that there’s an error on the driver’s safety protection and ask me to contact Tesla service center. Is there any way I can...

Torque and Horsepower upgrade kits on M3P?

Is the extra 25hp just to compensate the extra weight Model Y has vs the 3?

do you know where I can find such info on eliminating errors ?
  17. B

For those who miss engine sounds - take out the rear seat cushion!

interesting, so it's okay to just unplug the connectors and the system would still be fine. I wonder if I can do the same for the aftermarket bucket seat for the passenger side.

For those who miss engine sounds - take out the rear seat cushion!

how do you remove the rear seat without triggering error code from the sensor?

This is exactly my point. I'd be totally fine with the same top speed but faster 80-130mph time.

Comparison of Model 3 Performance w/ the Two Versions of MPP Coilovers and the Standard off the shelf KW-V3

so is it a bad idea to run mpp's super spring set on kw v3? I'm currently running V3 on my M3P and am thinking about swapping the springs out for Mpp's super spring set.

My 2021 M3P slow upgrade [mod] documentation.

isn't MPP sports nearly the same as KW V3? I don't think if the rebound would be vastly different from each other. But i'm no expert.

Torque and Horsepower upgrade kits on M3P?

Just to throw it out there for more discussion, I know Elon once said there will be ludicrous mode for the M3P but haven't yet delivered. Which sounds to me that there definitely is more the car can output but Elon either doesn't want to or completely forgot about it.

Torque and Horsepower upgrade kits on M3P?

Hi guys, I know there is a performance boost kit/controller type of thing for SR and LR but is there any for the M3P to unleash more horsepower and torque? I believe the hardware has the capability to output a lot more for the track performance but the software is limiting it. If anyone knows...

Side to side swaying while on Autopilot?

if your car is all stock, then yes, it's common as the stock suspension doesn't perform well at high speed. A bunch of my fellow model 3 owner friends and I all experienced the same thing. The said swaying disappeared after we upgraded our suspension to either MPP or KWV3

    Upgraded To OEM Performance Brakes

Yup, I don't like Carbotech's noise when cold, when temperature gets up to the working range then it's fine but on the street, it's killing me. Could you kindly link me to the Raybesto ST-45 and Ferodo DS3.1 please?

    Upgraded To OEM Performance Brakes

Thanks for the explanation, could you kindly link me to the said SAE master class? I'd like to gain more knowledge on the brake system and bust all the myths stores advise them to be.

Yokohama A052 - Good for Fast Laps, Terrible on Wear

interesting, what's the spec of your wheels? specifically the width and offset. I imagine it has to be carefully calculated so it doesn't rub the control arm and the fender

What do you think of the uberturbine wheels on the M3P?

agreed. should be the stock set up for the M3P
  30. B

What do you think of the uberturbine wheels on the M3P?

I personally swapped out the stock 19s on my M3P and track with 18/9.5J/+35 wheels. I don't think I can ever go back to 19s after using 18 inchers. They are simply just very light and gives a lot of performance advantages vs the 19/20 inch counterparts.
  31. B

What do you think of the uberturbine wheels on the M3P?

Looks fine but I don't see them performing well on the tracks and spirited canyon driving. Heat dissipation should be pretty bad on these wheels.

    Upgraded To OEM Performance Brakes

I've never used any BKK in my life so just wondering the overall feeling. Currently I'm on stock performance caliper and rotors paired with Cabotech XP24 front/XP20 rear and run SRF brake fluid and I felt it was enough (but definitely could be better and would like my stopping distance to be...

My 2021 M3P slow upgrade [mod] documentation.

I love it, it's perfect for daily drive and canyon runs. However, I do find it not enough for track use. At least on my local track that has 23 mid speed turns. The body still rolls too much. I'm really hoping the KW would release the clubsport version. Or perhaps if anyone knows if i can...

Vendor Mountain Pass Performance Intro - Updates

@MountainPass Would you guys consider releasing a more race focused coilover kits? Me and my fellow sport coilover kit owners felt that they are good on the streets but not 100% enough for tracks with 20+ mid speed turns. Car still rolls too much. Or maybe a stiffer spring sets to go with the...

Anyone on MPP and THEN added swaybars? Any improvements?

if you want to do that, you also need to upgrade your tires, not just the sway bars. I'm currently using Potenza RE-71RS where I live.
  42. B

Anyone on MPP and THEN added swaybars? Any improvements?

I've got KW V3 suspension and then added the UP sway bar afterwards. Very noticeable difference as the car becomes stiffer (but very responsive at cornering and the rear becomes more dynamic. I started with medium setting both front and rear for about 2 weeks before making them both end hard...

    BMW F80 M3 v Model 3 Performance--From Someone that Owns Both

nice write-up. As a former F33 owner, the only thing that still makes me miss about my F33 is when the weather is nice and I put the top down for a ride. Other than that, my new M3P beats everything F33 had to offer and more ,for a much cheaper price.
