Tesla recalls 2 million vehicles to limit use of Autopilot

I just got a notification as well that it’s ready to install, not download. Bummer

Torquing Lug Nuts with Torque Sticks 120ftlbs or 140?

That's why you just put adapters on.. you know.. 3/8" to 1/2" to 3/4"... Works great 'til it breaks :D

Torquing Lug Nuts with Torque Sticks 120ftlbs or 140?

I usually just tighten by hand and say, “yeah that feels tight”, out loud. Does the trick 100% of the time 90% of the time.

Live View cameras reversed (funny thread w/pics)

In the interest of steering the thread back on track, I noticed the Live View being flipped since day one, and it's driven me crazy. Seems no one at Tesla has either noticed, or cares. Also, when are they going to bring the B-Pillar cameras in to Dashcam, they added it to Live..?!

Torquing Lug Nuts with Torque Sticks 120ftlbs or 140?

Torque sticks should only be used with an impact wrench. If you're using a hand tool, it doesn't work. You'll over torque. $72 on amazon for a 1/2" torque wrench Amazon.com

Replacing Llumar CTX tint with Llumar Stratos worth it?

I've got Stratos 40 on the fronts, and Air 80 on the rears. The Stratos dealer near me didn't stock 70 - and told me that 'it was backordered' and I wanted to be able to see out of my windows - so I opted for Air from a different shop. As for IR rejection, it doesn't really matter. The factory...

    Supercharger - Lowell, MA

Paid Lowes a visit.. Still no transformer. No change to the lines (just in case the Lawrence striping crew might’ve done a nearby site..)

Until they work out the bugs/force me to have more nagging/strikes.

Anyone still holding out from upgrading? I’m still on 2023.44.1 🥳

Is it me, or do the lines seem a little off? The stations aren’t really right justified to the spot.

Las Vegas to Grand Canyon - ABRP vs Tesla Trip Planner

Don't forget you'll need some juice to back track to a supercharger or your final destination (hotel?) that has charging to continue your trip.

    Supercharger - Norwalk, CT

Ooo. This will be a nice location if it goes through. There's not much on that stretch of the Merritt. The one at TJ's in Stamford is only 150kW and can get busy..

Rear Glass - Slightly Higher Where It Meets The Roof

Yeah I was wondering what was wrong with even a little chalk pen that they scribble on the windshield a note that it’s good to go.. Gone are the days (hopefully) of the little magnetic cones they’d stick on the roof of the car for “waiters”, or numbers for service that would scratch paint. At...

Mass: ChargeSmart/National Grid Customers - Issues linking Tesla to ChargeSmart?

Yup. For me I just started a new job that has Chargepoint spots that are $.18/kWh. That affords me $.15 or $.13 off peak rates which beats the snot out of my $.33/$.30 at home. I don’t foresee myself charging at home much anymore.

    Supercharger - Lowell, MA

I went by the other night picking up some food at the nines. Lots of snow piled up where they were trenching/had the ground opened up. Otherwise a very nice job of cleaning out all the spots, and the pad for the transformer is exposed. But like others have said - zero change.

Visited this site yesterday for all the wrong reasons (vet bill, yay!) Didn’t see much of a change from the last set of photos. Busy driveway with the Starbucks though!

Covered in my other post, the program has expanded to charging anywhere in Massachusetts; not just at home.

Mass: ChargeSmart/National Grid Customers - Issues linking Tesla to ChargeSmart?

The downside of doing the charger, is you won’t get the rebate while out and about. Of course if you link your car and it’s location, it’s a non-issue. If you get free charging at work, you actually get money back for off peak charging while at work (if within MA).
  24. Chewy13

Mass: ChargeSmart/National Grid Customers - Issues linking Tesla to ChargeSmart?

Well, they need to know you’re in Massachusetts when charging. That’s how they’re going to credit you or not. And they need the data to see how much you’ve charged while off peak. While I agree it would be great to do it without big brother, I’m not sure how that would work.

    2023 Model Y 25,000 (24,524) Mile Update - Cold Weather Impact

@AAKEE - it just dawned upon me.. at home with L2 charging, should I nerf my charging amperage from 40A to something lower when charging overnight? I imagine the lower and slower the charge, the better battery life?

Is the heated wiper tray just weak on the ‘22+ Model Y?

Thanks for that. I drove in the snow storm a few days ago here in MA/NH - and triple checked that I had the windshield heater/blades on, and had the HVAC on max defrost, nearly went deaf while driving; apparently I can't adjust the fan speed while it's set to blow on the windshield. Definitely a...

Rear Glass - Slightly Higher Where It Meets The Roof

If you insist 🥲 When you wash your car, sit down and look at your hard work - and your eyes immediately go to the roof line to see something just isn’t right.. I make it a habit now of looking at other MY on the road and notice several have the issue. From what I’ve noticed, they’re on MY...

Mass: ChargeSmart/National Grid Customers - Issues linking Tesla to ChargeSmart?

Yeah I did that 4 or 5 times. Nat Grid did respond to me, saying that their engineers discovered an issue and pushed another update. I still couldn't get it to go... I just tried the app once more, and this time it's all sync'ed up. Hopefully it stays that way!

Mass: ChargeSmart/National Grid Customers - Issues linking Tesla to ChargeSmart?

I got an email saying that for 2024, we have to re-link our accounts. Went to relink and got an error message - it said to then disconnect and reconnect the account. I did that, still errors. The Pair Your Car button is still greyed out. I tried a browser from my phone. Then finally the...

2023 MYLR, One year ownership experience

I thought with one of the later updates introducing single pull down for AP. That you could adjust the setting so it’s still double pull down for AP, and single pull for TACC. Could be wrong.

Welcome to Model Y ownership. I have a similar issue. I’ve just learned to live with it. Service center didn’t really have an answer for me when it was brought to their attention.

Tesla recalls 2 million vehicles to limit use of Autopilot

Assuming that the tenant pays the power bill, why would the landlord have any say over charging? I'm not saying you can install an outlet on their property, but who is to say a tenant couldn't get one of those auto-sensing dryer plugs that swap between EV charging, or drying clothes? I'm also...

Tesla recalls 2 million vehicles to limit use of Autopilot

I suspect, after some issues with the Tessie app, this is a breakdown in communication between Tesla's API and TeslaFi. APIs are not bulletproof. Edit: Also, FWIW - I just signed up for TeslaFi and it's saying I installed 2023.44.1 today, which is not the case. My iPhone will download...

Tesla recalls 2 million vehicles to limit use of Autopilot

Oh for sure, and that's exactly what I did whenever possible. Going from the corner(ish) of MA to the corner of CT at 95% SOC, I would arrive at my parents in the 20 degree weather with an estimated 15% SOC, which ended up being 7% SOC when I pulled into the driveway. The challenge with trying...

Also means to me, that vehicles that are much larger and heavier could potentially cause an accident - keeping up with the flow of traffic I find is much easier to drive in. If I park it at 65 in the right lane, I get tailgated and cut off non stop. Very often having to disable AP because it...

TPMS tire location wrong after rotation

It could also be a limitation of the technology. Obviously it’s hit or miss.. The way...
