UGH - The smell of it. [AC Smell]

Try to do something to block the foam from going back up the intake. It will take the path of least resistance. 👍👍

UGH - The smell of it. [AC Smell]

In regards to this part, I thought the same thing and tried some temporary pieces of cardboard placed in the filter locations to force more foam into and hopefully through the evaporator. Worth a try. It took 2 yrs for my first smell to appear but after Klima (1 can) with the cardboard I'm going...

Help identifying a part: Grey Rubber Grommet

Good point, that's definitely a possibility. Something to check and verify. I hope that would not be the case but unfortunately we all know about the reputation of some service centers. There is a few bolts that also hold them on so I don't think they will fall off but missing clips could cause...

Help identifying a part: Grey Rubber Grommet

Since they had your rocker covers off to paint, it looks like part of the clips that are used to hold the rocker panels up to the car. There are some metal clips that go over the rubber pieces. Here is a pic of them installed on the rocker covers before they are installed. I had mine off to...

Time to replace upper-control arm ball joints

Good find and great info, thanks. Now we wait for availability...lol. You would think they would transition fast into production and be available soon after. Either way I'm good for a while, just had mine replaced under warranty at 36k and still have my other sets ready to go with the...

    Anyone using a QuickJack

The boards work great for clearance with the 3 and the side skirts. I didn't have luck with rollers either. But I did install a couple of cheap handles that really help moving them alor. And some tri-roller dollys that I use to roll them around until its about halfway under the car, then remove...

Tesla denied warranty for Upper control arms because of Aftermarket Suspension

Wow, did this really turn into a debate about oil on a TESLA forum? On a topic about upper control arm warranties.... Wait don't answer that. Someone will write a 7 paragraph article on how its relevant and related.. Dont get offended now, just pointing out the hilarious twist on how the topic...

Can any shop do wheel alignment

As noted above, Is this specialized equipment used by Tesla? Yes. That said, is this equipment required to do an alignment at a non-tesla shop? No. But this also depends on the shop and their capabilities and who your askjng (we know what teslas answer is). As you said, "any qualified shop"...

Tesla denied warranty for Upper control arms because of Aftermarket Suspension

I wonder if they (tesla) are coming out with a newer version yet again. Even amazon had them for a while. I see multiple companies overseas showing them on websites. Skeptical myself until something is proven. Now back to your regular programming...ding ding...

Costco had the bundle on sale for 300 off. Keep an eye out for the sale. They are hydraulic, 110v. Quickjack has many options available. Some are longer to operate in the standard fwd aft orientation. I have no issues using them sideways and it allowed me to purchase the lower cost 5000tl. I...

UGH - The smell of it. [AC Smell]

Good point!! Even tho we can only see the front side, I would hope the drain does go on both sides of the evaporator, (condensor is at the front of the vehicle unless it has heat pump, I believeit has both). Inject enough cleaner up that drain till it covers the front side then it may cover...

UGH - The smell of it. [AC Smell]

I think it can be both, or more. All due to a bad design. Both my filter and the lower area was dry, even after a Seattle wet winter. But I did have a smell and some fuzzy mildew/mold on my evaporator or on the backside or the evaporator where we can't see. Either way the temp fix is the...

UGH - The smell of it. [AC Smell]

I'm at 37k, had the issue once at 2 yrs and 3 months. I did the cleaning once at that time (slightly different way as noted) and its now 4 months later and still no smell. Coins fell down the side of the passenger seat... and then "somewhere"

I did it with the seats out. If you move the seats all the way fwd you might be able to get in there. Any kind of foam could work. I cut up a 12x12 piece I got from my local hardware store. Someone may come up with better way, that would be great. I had to retrieve an item that fell in there...

Coins fell down the side of the passenger seat... and then "somewhere"

There is a spot where the front and rear sections of carpet meet under the front seats. Anything can fall through and into this worthless void of nothing (or empty channel). You may hear something slide or roll back and forth when turning or cornering hard. Here in a pic of the locations. I had...

Just north in Arlington. Grew up in Marysville. Yes agreed, I did notice the jack pads on the rubber did have more flex. Another reason I installed the wood pieces into mine. Very solid and stable with the jack pads on the wood.

    Anyone using a QuickJack

Very good point!! I dont think it needs the Tesla style jack pads as long as you lift it the same locations the jack pads use. Personal preference I guess. Use the rubber pads just like you would any other car. Definitely more than one way to do it as long as its safe. I don't know the...

    Something rolling around....

I do not, sorry. If you unbolt the seat and tip it back you will see the seam in the carpet and the gap/channel right below it. Don't tip the seat to far or you can damage the plug (unless you unplug it of course) that picture it from the front looking back with the seat tipped back.

    Skid plate justification

I haven't seen any aluminum skid plates/aero shiels do this yet... And yes, I feel better that my coolant lines in front of the battery are more protected by aluminum than plastic and fiberboard.

    2018 Model 3 "stealth performance" ... that actually isn't

This is when I lucked out at the end of 2019. My Service Adviser found a way to preorder a stealth in November. Jumped on the deal.as fast as I could. $52,990 (+$1500 for 19" wheels I added). Control arm under warranty? [when over 50k miles on car]

    Skid plate justification

Pieces of wood I cut for lift8ng the tesla. This will also give me more clearance to add the wheels to the quickjacks. The wheels will raise it slightly. Anyone using a QuickJack

I agree, I'm going to try to bleed the system again and see if it has more air in it. I think something in the pump is wrong and its sucking air into the system. So many videos I've watched of this system and not one has done this ( that I've found, yet). Worst case costco has a great return...

Well, crap, My quickjack seems to be having issues from day 1. Everything bleed just fine, very easy. They go up evenly and come down nicely even with no weight. Smelly stinky socks / mold in Model 3 AC

The smell could possibly come from the filters, the evaporator or both. Its great they say Antibacterial, but probably wont help and funk that may be in the evaporator. Need the foam for that. Think I'll try them stp filters myself, good find android04 thanks!!

Smelly stinky socks / mold in Model 3 AC

Something to try for the ones having continuous problems. With the way the duct is designed, there is nothing forcing the cleaner foam all the way through the evaporator. Some of the foam wil take the path of least resistance and just go fwd into the duct. I used some temporary pieces of...

Smelly stinky socks / mold in Model 3 AC

I didn't have the issue until 35k miles. I was on my 2nd set of filters (3rd if you count the originals) then one day...Whoa! Always run in auto with the ac on. And the smell appeared on filters that were only 2 month old non tesla filters, supposedly with the charcoal. Using Tesla...
