OEM CCS adapter now available to order in North America, Retrofit for older cars coming in 2023

Got mine ordered first thing this morning as soon as I saw they were available. I've been waiting on this for a while. It isn't something I'll use all the time, but it will have its benefits for sure. After a year and half, I'm still using a 120v outlet in my garage. 95% of the time this...

Traded my M3P for an RS3 - My thoughts on both cars for what it's worth

Nice comparison. I definitely really like the new RS3, and while I'm not seriously looking for any vehicle change currently, it is on the radar as a potential future replacement. One thing I did want to know: how do they compare in size?

We have 'vent' for windows. But can we have 'auto-close in the evening' please!

Not sure how well, if at all, the IFTTT app integrates with Tesla, but could there be a way to set that up to automatically close the windows at a specified time every evening? If not, just set an alarm to remind you and take care of it. That'll only take a few seconds every day, and you can...

    Any configuration regrets?

No regrets. I have a white on black Long Range with 18’s. White was my favorite color on this car (previous car was white too), so added bonus there’s no up charge. I sometimes wish I had gotten the 19’s, but I’ve heard the ride quality is better with the 18’s. But really I actually like the...

Question about odometer reading on a new car

Mine had 15 miles on the paperwork, but only 3 miles on the odometer at time of pickup. I think most manufacturers do this anyway, but at a minimum, it makes sense to put a higher (but still low) number on the paperwork to speed up paperwork completion without having to actually have someone...

    Another price increase tonight [04/06/2022]

I am typically not one to catch things at the bottom or get the best deals available, but I totally lucked out getting my M3LR a year ago for the brief period the price bottomed out! I knew it was amongst the lowest prices, but I didn't realise the $45,990 price I paid was only ~2 weeks before...

Gloves that work with the Tesla touchscreen?

I got some Head running gloves from Costco that are designed for touchscreens. While it hasn't been super frigid, I've worn them in the high 20s/low 30s and they've kept my hands warm enough. But they really do work exceptionally well on touch screens, including the Teslas screen.

Is anyone using a screen protector on the display?

I have the spigen matte protector. I didn't mean to order the matte version, and thought I had ordered gloss, but didn't catch the mistake until it was already installed. So I figured I'd leave it for now and change it later. I have no desire to change it anymore. I thought it looked good from...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Must just be the mobile version of the site versus desktop. Glad to see that's not getting removed after it was just released.

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

It was listed on the site previously at least for some period. It wasn't listed when I got mine, though it does have it, then a few weeks after I picked it up I saw it listed in the features.

Question for those in sunny/warmer climates! (glass roof)

This is correct, there is no retractable sunshade. Seems to be the going trend with EVs for some reason (aside from the ID4). Mustang Mach-E, Polestar 2, Taycan (I think), and several others have full glass roof with no shade.

    Test drive or not?

Always take a test drive. As others have mentioned, it doesn't matter how something appears in writing, so much of this is subjective and you need to determine for yourself if it's the right car. Ergonomics, comfort, features, accessibility, etc. all should be checked out. In my case, I...

Door panel update in US M3?

Most likely. From what I've read, and as it worked for me, they'll honor the price at time of order. And as new features come out, they tend to come on new builds moving forward. So as long as yours is a new build and not from existing inventory, it's a higher probability you'll get the new doors.
  20. TechJunky

    Prices are slowly going up?

Glad I got my LR when the price was at the bottom (for now)! I'm not surprised they're raising the price given strong demand and they keep adding features. It's definitely a unique way to do it adding $500-1,000 at a time versus just increasing a few thousand dollars once per year. I'm only...

Door panel update in US M3?

It'll cost you another $500 for that trim apparently as pricing was bumped yet again. I like the look of the new panels, but not enough to have any jealousy and wish I had waited. Interesting that they still aren't listing the heated steering wheel anywhere on the site that I can find.

Thoroughly impressed [with my model 3 LR]

I just wanted to say how completely and thoroughly impressed I am with my M3LR. I've had it almost a week, and it has exceeded my expectations. I'm well aware I'm still in the honeymoon period, and I'm not considering this any kind of long term review. I just keep finding excuses to go for...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Took some more time this morning to go over everything. A few minor misalignments here and there, but nothing worth bringing in to get fixed in my opinion. Will it come fully charged?

I fully anticipated a 70-ish percent charge today when I picked up, but was quite surprised to find the car at 97%. No complaints here, as we kept taking it out on quick runs just for fun and fairly quickly got the battery down to 78%. Charging to 85% tonight just to test charging out, will do...

Everything went smooth! Probably took 20-25 minutes total. Car looks great. I was able to go through inside and out before accepting delivery and couldn't find any issues. I figure if I find anything later, I'll deal with it then, but if I didn't find anything when looking close then I doubt...

    Prices are slowly going up?

Looks like it went up another $500. The M3LR was $45,990 when I ordered mine towards the beginning of the month. A week or two later, it went up $500 to $46,490. Now it looks like it's $46,990, another $500 sometime in the last few days. I can't speak to the other ranges, or other models, to...

Columbus. I'll of course be hoping my appointment gets moved up earlier, but a few more days is fine. As it tends to go with these things, the anticipation is a killer, but once we have them in our possessions a few days, we'll forget all about the agony of waiting.

He responded back and went ahead and scheduled an appointment for Saturday 3/27 in the afternoon! Well after my EDD changed from actual dates to 2-14 weeks this morning, I just checked again and now there is a VIN in my account! Positive step in the right direction! Now every time I get a text I'll be hopeful that it's Tesla contacting me to schedule delivery.

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

After another several days with a blank EDD (after a couple days showing March 31-31), I got hopeful yesterday when it came back with a March 24-31 range. But today it's showing 2-14 weeks from delivery. My only remaining hope is a marching configuration occasionally popping up in existing...

Wiki Model 3 Order Tracking Spreadsheet

Curious as to what constitutes an order? Is it simply placing the order online with the $100 deposit? Or is having all tasks (registration, trade-in (if applicable), financing, etc.) complete? I placed my order on 3/8, but it was March 12 before all of the tasks were completed (held up by my...

Really? I haven't heard/seen that anywhere, but admittedly didn't think to search for it. When I ordered mine, I had intended on using my friends referral code, but ended up ordering there at the store right after the test drive. Once I realized it later that day, I shot an email to my...

2021 Pricing Changes on Model 3/Y

Looks like the M3LR got a $500 bump. I'm guessing the SR+ and Performance did as well, but I'm not as familiar with their pricing to know for sure or by how much. My question is: I placed my order on Monday. I do not have a VIN or delivery date yet. My account still shows the original pricing...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

I've tried to look this up, but can't quite get a clear picture: does anyone know when trading in a vehicle whether the trade in valuation has to be completed before you can get assigned a VIN/scheduled delivery? It's still early in the process for me as I just placed my order on Monday, but I...

Tesla loan comparison spreadsheet - auto updates hourly

Thanks to everyone for the advice in this thread. I would have been happy enough with 2.49% (which I've seen a few places state, and my advisor state yesterday, was the current best/lowest offer Tesla had), but followed the advice here and emailed them to request a lower rate. Sure enough, I...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

New here, but just placed my order today. Been researching these for a while, and breached the topic with my wife last weekend. She was surprisingly receptive and told me schedule a test drive. The test drive happened today, and the car surpassed my (high) expectations. She was equally impressed...
