    FSD Beta 12.3 GA

Credit where credit is due. 12.3.3 is a vast improvement over 12.3.1. My speed problems have been mostly fixed and for the first time ever, the car drives properly and safely on winding two-lane country roads that don’t have lane markers. Also the car drives much more like a human and less like...

    FSD Beta 12.3 GA

I’m with those who are highly frustrated by the car’s unwillingness to maintain the set speed in many situations, even when forcing with the accelerator. Big step backwards. Smoothness and logic are indeed better, but I’m very disappointed with the slow speed issue - and they even took cruise...

    App won't wake car

Thank you Mengy. Our house and garage in Maine have great wifi but little to no cell signal. Begninning in November (I think), the app began to have trouble seeing our cars at home. So we couldn’t pre-warm them without a trip to the garage. After having Teslas since the first Model S release, we...

Can't connect to car using App when phone is on home Wifi

So far I have good news to report, at least for my particular problem. Once I went in and made sure Sentry Mode was on, with no location exclusions, for every driver profile, in each car, our app wakes both cars at home very quickly and reliably. At first I had a few profiles that still...

Can't connect to car using App when phone is on home Wifi

I completely agree with Ostrichsak. Our house and garage in Maine have great wifi but little to no cell signal. Begninning in November (I think), the app began to have trouble see our cars at home. So we couldn’t pre-warm them without a trip to the garage. After having Teslas since the first...

Oops. Missed the most recent posts. Much more authoritative. Sorry.

Supercharger - Newton, MA (RT-128 SB service plaza)

There has been a fenced off area with some equipment for a month or so, but no construction activity I could see from the highway. Will be another convenient, short charge option for our trips between RI and Maine.

    RI Area Body Shop

I just had a great body shop experience at Curreri Collision in Johnston, RI, right off 295. I had backed my Model Y into something in my garage (like a knucklehead). Curreri is a Tesla certified center, did a great job, gave me a loaner and charged me a very reasonable fee. They are proud...

    Highway grime!!

I share the bug magnet problem. I clear wrapped the front end and bought a vinyl cleaner at a marine supply store. Used once with a microfiber towel, but seemed to work fine.

    Driver window doesn't stay up

Ok. I hope it continues to work for you.

What are the odds of an in-app acceleration boost purchase?

We would buy it for my wife’s Long Range.

    Driver window doesn't stay up

are you driving on rough roads when it happens? The same thing was happening to me and I realized it only occurred when I was trying to auto-close the window on relatively rough pavement. You might want to try it when the car is parked and see if it happens then.

E-Z Pass in the Model Y

Works fine if placed immediately to the right of the rear view mirror. I think the owner's manual addresses this too.

Paint protection film and ceramic coating in Maine?

We had a good experience on our two Y's at ACP Paint Protection in Attleboro, Ma. They gave us a loaner while they worked. Takes half a day. We did the Full Hood and Fender Package. Very good workmanship.

No more Stealth Model Y Performance?

Boy I’m sure glad I ordered my Model Y Performance without PUP before Tesla removed the option from the configurator. I love my thrilling acceleration, but need higher suspension and longer range - so no PUP was perfect for me despite the cost. How do others feel? Maybe Tesla would...

Walk Away Door Lock (Doesn’t seem time work)

Thanks Stellavator and LevelHeaded. Your answers explained why the setting worked on my Y and my wife’s didn’t (she hadn't gone anywhere since the update). Saved some head-scratching here. Thanks again.

Model Y Test Drive - New England

A test drive is worth it to compare to a Model 3. The main difference is how much more quiet the Y is than the 3. Of course it’s also nice to see how much space is in the car and how good the handling is. As soon as my wife (Stealth Model 3) rode in my Model Y, she ordered one. Having had...

2020.16 and Stop Sign and Stop Light Recognition

Hi Riguy! I had seen some of your other posts and figured you might be from heah. Naak, yes, I agree, but I love autosteer and it's what, twice as safe as self steering based on Tesla data? I'm probably using autosteer 90% of the time, so hoping for a future with fewer tradeoffs. I'll...

2020.16 and Stop Sign and Stop Light Recognition

I like the stop sign and stop light recognition software. It works well and is intutive in its commands. You certainly have to pay attention or you’ll stop at green lights. At least for now. My concern is that when enabled, this version limits your maximium non-highway cruise control speed...

Video of 2020 Model S with 2020.12.6 and FSD Stopping at Traffic Lights

Was looking for a forum on behavior under 2020.16 (Model Y) and 2020.12.11.1 (Model 3). Not sure if this is the right one, but feel free to point me in the right direction if you think there’s a better one. I like the stop light and stop sign function, but do not like that it will only allow...

    Northeast delivery?

I think for all Orderers, including RI'ers, it's a time to be patient. COVID safety and Fremont shut down can't help. If you get a weird call from Las Vegas be sure to take it, that's your Vin confirmation. Also, my wife was offered some cancelled cars, but she is determined to have blue, so...

Actually took delivery 3/28. Love everything about the car. Wicked fast, quiet and roomy.

    Northeast delivery?

I’m very fortunate. Ordered first day and this will actually be our 5th purchase from Tesla (with three traded in or sold). I received my VIN last Saturday (0024xx) and got the text to confirm delivery at the RI Service Center this Monday 3/30. So excited.

Tesla Model Y Accessories are live

Thanks for noticing. I quickly ordered the garage door opener as these sometimes are hard to get. I admit I’m still scratching my head about Homelink. I was pretty sure it was in the specs before, but i know it isn’t now. Anyway, thanks a lot.

Ordering the Performance Model without the upgrade

Personally, I’m very happy to pay for higher range, higher suspension and performance acceleration. Becasue of the way we use our cars, the hardware add-ons are actually negatives for us. One other consideration for people on this Forum, road noise with the larger tires. My wife had an early...

    Performance Y without lowered Suspension

Good points 2xM3 and Mayonayze. I'd buy a Stealth Y in a heartbeat.

    Performance Y without lowered Suspension

lozza, I’m with you. I only just realized there was such a thing as a “stealth” Model 3 and my wife has one. Perfect for us, as it has performance acceleration, but quieter aero wheels and higher suspension. I’m betting Tesla will make Acceleration Boost available for Ys as well as 3s, so I...

    Supercharger - Portland, ME

It was totally live yesterday (Saturday the 19th). We noticed it had a live icon on the car’s screen when we left RI for our trip to Maine. I’ve attached a photo of us plugged in and a screenshot of the charging rate. The Hannaford is a nice one, with bathrooms at the front of the store, so...

    Rear Drive Unit Failed

We too have thought that the early, rear-wheel-drive-only aspect might be complicating the replacement. We didn't push too hard to explain the difficulty because we quickly realized that we'd be happier if we replaced the RWD with AWD Performance, so we focused on that, and as I've said, Tesla...

    Rear Drive Unit Failed

Thanks ChrisH. They gave us a super fair trade-in price. No penalty, perhaps a premium. Then upped the trade-in price by $500 on their own. The total package is a crazy bargain and sales staff have been accessible and responsive. We are 100% pleased with how we've been treated.
  34. Beavertail S

    Rear Drive Unit Failed

Sorry not to have been clear. It was our Model 3, rear wheel drive, long range model that had the failure.
  35. Beavertail S

    Rear Drive Unit Failed

My wife's rear drive unit failed at just under 20,000 miles. They are having a really hard time finding a replacement. We proposed trading in, and not only did they give us a very fair trade price, they also gave us a nice discount on the Performance loaner they gave us that only had 25 miles...

    Model Y price outdated

I just went to My Tesla, chose edit and the new prices were reflected. I agree with others that it's all subject to change until production is close.

    Performance Y without lowered Suspension

I have the same concerns sabrtooth. I want the acceleration of performance, but would prefer height. My wife's RWD Long Range Model 3 scrapes our daughter's driveway. My Model S with air suspension doesn't.

    Tesla expanding to Rhode Island

Sales open! Service soon. Will have public destination chargers. Opening ceremony Saturday. Owners reception the week after. Much better to have it than not CarlSagan. I thought your post was more mean than funny. Tesla didn't have to spend the money to serve us better, but they did and I'm...

    Supercharger - Freeport, ME

I love the Freeport chargers for being pretty and close to great shopping and good restaurants, but I joke that they are the most expensive in the country because I always end up spending money at Bean’s. If you’re worried about being ice’d and having little left in the “tank”, then supercharge...

    Tesla expanding to Rhode Island

No update here. There are destination chargers at Gurneys and Vanderbilt, plus a few J1772s in town. Enough to get you easily to the East Greenwich or Mansfield superchargers.

Anyone got pics of the hatchback open?

I’m interested in seeing these too. A little odd not to have shown this on launch when the car’s main value proposition is to be great at carrying stuff. My wife and I are still Tesla lovers anyway.

    Apple Car Play?

I rented a car with CarPlay recently and loved the voice driven text messaging system. One way or another I'd like to have that functionality in my Teslas. I'm personally fine with all other aspects of the Tesla infotainment system.

Wind noise and early Model 3 VIN's

I just installed the RPM Tesla gasket and it is transformational. Our Model 3 now just as quiet as quiet as our Model S. I couldn’t be happier. I’ll also post a review and thanks on RPM Tesla. FYI, it took them two weeks to ship the part but I got it in a day or two.

    Phone Call Echo

We tried forgetting my wife’s phone in the Model 3, then rebooting the whole system as suggested in this string. Didtn’t work. I think we need to wait for a Tesla fix.

    Phone Call Echo

Just confirming we have the same problem. I call my wife in her model 3 from my model S. I get a horrible echo most of the time, but not always. Calling back doesn't fix it. Both of us have iPhone 8s, no Apple watches. I'll try a forget device and reboot when my wife is back home. A really...

Supercharger - Kennebunk, ME (I-95 NB and SB service plazas)

Now open. I guess I was one of the first users. I charged on Friday, June 15. Very convenient. Came up on my nav system as a routing suggestion. Nice lobster/crab roll truck in the plaza. Yes, near dog walking but not competitive. No spots were ICE'd. Not as charming as Freeport, but...

We took delivery on Friday 2/9. Had to be trucked to RI to avoid paying Massachusetts sales tax. All went very smoothly. We love the car.
