MY sold can't see how to remove it from the Tesla app

Hi all, I traded in our MY yesterday (for an i4) and am trying to figure out how to remove it from the Tesla app and notify Tesla it's been sold. I also have a powerwall so don't want to just delete the Tesla app. The instructions online don't jive with what I see when I log into my account. Any...

Windows and trunk randomly open on their own while I’m away from my car.

It's been nearly a month now and we've not had it happen again after recalibrating the windows. It doesn't explain others' rear hatch opening though.

Windows and trunk randomly open on their own while I’m away from my car.

The same thing has happened to us. Once yesterday (when it was raining) and again today. First the front passenger's window then today the rear passenger's window. I'll try the window calibration procedure and see whether this fixes the issue: The door needs to be closed Press the window up...

Phantom braking in my new Model Y

Well it's a beta feature you can't turn off as phantom breaking happened to us even when we consistently disabled emergency auto braking after each charging session while on the road.

Phantom braking in my new Model Y

We were driving down 395 in the eastern Sierra, no cars ahead of us and none in the oncoming lanes (separated by a wide median) and the car would brake hard 200 yds or so ahead of an intersection with no traffic signals.

Phantom braking in my new Model Y

The stock adaptive cruise control (which is what we were using) should not be "beta."

Crap on windshield! does it look like glitter or soap scum

If you're going to try clay bar on the glass be mindful to get a glass specific clay bar as it is denser and a more aggressive cleaner compared to paint clay bars that have to be softer.

Textile-based rear wheel wells on '22 MY?

Our 21 MY has the pliable textile in the wheel wells. It doesn't snow here though so can't comment on that aspect of your inquiry.

Phantom braking in my new Model Y

We had a slew of phantom breaking events on Hwy 395 in the eastern Sierra a couple weeks ago. It's a flat road down a valley and straight as a could be. Little to no traffic we'd be coming up on a cross road w/no traffic on it and the MY would break for no reason whatsoever. This was with stock...

Phantom Breaking on recent road trip

My bad. I meant to indicate radar. IIRC Tesla stopped including radar AFTER March 2021.

Phantom Breaking on recent road trip

The tech suggested that it may be an issue on the relatively remote roads we were on that their software had errors with. 14 and 395 from Bishop to Mojave isn't exactly remote though.

Phantom Breaking on recent road trip

Tesla just called me and wondered if the windshield had a lot of bug splatter that can affect the camera above the rear view mirror as that can affect the emergency breaking function. I told the tech that we clean the windshield with "Invisible Glass" every time we stop when on road trips. He...

Phantom Breaking on recent road trip

This last weekend we drove from our home in Arroyo Grande CA to the Mammoth Lakes area. Enroute, we experienced a number of unneeded emergency braking events while on the highways at speed (65-72 mph). While this happened about a dozen time, 5-6 of them were significant slow downs and could have...

Pick up MYP yesterday, paint issues

It amazes me that Tesla is still having these issues after all this time. Our MY delivered 3/31/21 was flawless but it's looking like we were just lucky. I've since put full frontal ppf on and ceramic pro so the paint is just lustrous. Not to brag but Tesla should be able to be more consistent...

Sorry to say your refundable deposit will not qualify you for the fed tax credit. That's been discussed endlessly on the Mach e and i4 forums.

What's your next EV after Tesla?

The downside of the i4s is the long lead time for them 10-12 mo estimated today by my BMW sales associate. That seems to be the case with all EVs these days. I seriously considered an i4 40e but they dropped adaptive cruise control on the 40e and as of 1/1/23 the only BMW that will qualify for...

What's your next EV after Tesla?

Well it looks like the fed tax credit for EVs not made in America (which includes Canada and Mexico) is ending the end of this year and with BMW now showing any willingness to put ACC back in as an option, I've pretty much written the i4 off as a future EV. At this point we'll sell Shannon's...

What's your next EV after Tesla?

I'm all ready to order an i4 40e just as soon as they add back in adaptive cruise control (only available on the M50 right now). I'm planning on a nonMsport version with few options as it's pretty well loaded as it is and I prefer rwd. It's also $10k less than a fully loaded M50. Also have a...

Tow hitch bike rack for model y

We've been using a Thule rack for the last several vehicles and it's sturdy but light. This link is for their 4 bike rack. All of the above. I carry a can of fix a flat, plugs and an air pump, and on long trips a modern spare.com Our 2017 Volt didn't come with a spare tire as many, many new vehicles don't anymore.

EXISTING vehicle orders will not include the mobile charging connector (per delivery advisor)

Is that because you already had a 220v charger at home when you got the tesla and just use the j1772 adapter to plug in?

EXISTING vehicle orders will not include the mobile charging connector (per delivery advisor)

Wow, that's going down the road of Kia who also isn't providing 110/220 chargers with their EV6s. I personally don 't know anyone who has a Tesla who doesn't use the OEM 110/220 charger that came with the car. Tesla is no longer including the mobile connector with new vehicles

DIY Ceramic coating - don't waste money with a pro

I ordered our MY on 3/23 and it was built 3/28 and delivered 3/31/21. Tire rotation

I bought a road hazard warranty from them after getting a very slow leak from a screw in a tire. They fixed the flat (tire off the wheel and patch on the inside), re-balanced it, and rotated the tires at the same time (6500mi) as part of that warranty. Well worth the piece of mind.

    daily battery charge rate recommended

For me at least the OEM 30A charger is quite sufficient for overnight charging. All I needed was to add a second 240v 40A plug in the garage (our Volt uses the other 240v receptacle).

    Long Line for Charging

That long wait for chargers happened over a Xmas or Thanksgiving holiday travel weekend when a pass over the I-5 to the east was closed because of a snow storm so all I-5 traffic was diverted to the 101 that runs through San Luis Obispo.
