Of course, the Tebay chargers that were due to be added any week now if you consider Tesla's own statement of Q1 2023 have now been removed lmao. What a joke.

Tritium to deliver 10,000 EV DC fast chargers to the UK by 2030

I've seen a couple of chargers in Scotland that used to be 22kw (two AC connectors) converted into 25kw single CCS DC "fast chargers". IMO even 50KW shouldn't be called a fast charger, the cut off should be 100KW.

[uk] Public charging - the media may have a point

Until the data and established long-term trend of sales vastly outpacing chargers changes, it's not being pessimistic, it's being realistic. Tesla knows damn well how many cars they intend to make and sell years in advance, failing to plan for the infrastructure to support their own sales is...

[uk] Public charging - the media may have a point

What's "under construction" (You'll find most of the planned sites for Q4 22/Q1 23 aren't under construction by any definition) pales in comparison to what Tesla delivers every 3 months. More Tesla's on the road every 3 months with superchargers being built a much slower rate means things will...

[UK] Would you buy another tesla

I hope not. I hope by the time my M3/MY needs replacing they'll be other options on the market and if Tesla open up the supercharger network fully, there really will be no need to buy another one.

    Order deposit

I might give that a try. I don't want to just let them have £200 haha
  7. I

Same position but I have a company order so nothing I can do, I just keep telling them to delay it now.

    [UK] Price cuts

1% a year until 2028 I think. After that you know they'll try and milk EV owners for every last cent.

    Nightmare! (Supercharger queues)

The bulk of the population do not buy new cars in general, there's what 70M people now in this country and only 1.6m new cars a year. Tesla buyers are people that are currently/previously buy new Audi/BMW/Mercedes/ect, for which Tesla's sales don't even get close to reaching. Audi/BMW/Merc are...

    [UK] Price cuts

If BIK raises quickly in 2025 then you should just sell the car to yourself when the value of it tanks even more, that's what I'm hoping for. (assuming it's your company)
  11. I

    Nightmare! (Supercharger queues)

I do. Demand isn't just based on price/the economic climate. Let's face reality here, the vast majority of Tesla buyers are quite comfortable. The a major part of the problem is sentiment and the newspaper headlines of people waiting many hours to charge their vehicles over the Christmas break...

Instavolt 120kW chargers - what’s your best Tesla charge rate/output?

They one of the few semi decent chargers between Aberdeen-Inverness and both of them are at petrol stations right on the main road rather than supermarkets. Sometimes I feel like they just throw a dart at the map and hope for the best. I needed a quick charge in Edinburgh a few weeks ago and the...

    [UK] Price cuts

10% cut without notice is a sign of things to come imo. This is good for new buyers and old owners. New ish owners are the ones that should feel pressed but I'll be happy when the 3LR is reasonably priced again.
  14. I

    [UK] Price cuts

I hope prices keep crashing tbh. The amount Tesla overcharge on white interior/any paint other than white/1 inch bigger tires is insulting. When you can buy a non poverty spec 3LR for near £40k, then it will be quite an attractive car again.
  15. I

Instavolt 120kW chargers - what’s your best Tesla charge rate/output?

Loads of old ABB 50kw around Scotland, I've only got about a 20% success rate using those machines and I've never actually pulled 50kw from one. So it makes instavolt look good lmao
  16. I

Instavolt 120kW chargers - what’s your best Tesla charge rate/output?

Instavolt sucks for price/speed but it's one of the few charging networks I have yet to find broken/out of service when I've used them. I'm sure they have downtime but the reliability seems much better than most other networks using 50kw machines.

Target opening in Q4 2022 according to Tesla's own website... I get the feeling that won't be open until the summer.
  18. I

    Nightmare! (Supercharger queues)

I've found preconditioning to be a waste of energy to be honest. If you've got a cold battery, it's worth doing a 5 minutes of it but if I've just done 100-200 miles and pulling into a v2, I usually get 150kw or near enough without pre conditioning.

Model Y third best selling car in the UK in 2022

Just bringing it in line with US pricing would help... It's a $40k car in the US (£33k) which should be £40k with vat, UK buyers are effectively paying an £8k premium. Prices for new and used will tank even more soon imo.

Model Y third best selling car in the UK in 2022

Delivered 54,622 Teslas this year... Guess how many supercharger connectors they added? 223. Around 1 connector for every 250 vehicles they delivered.
  21. I

    Nightmare! (Supercharger queues)

Take those numbers from supercharge.info with a pinch of salt. The construction/under permit entries are just publicly sourced info. Tesla's own map shows they plan to open around 30 new locations in Norway in 2023 and quite a few of the uk ones 'under permit' have been so for over a year...

Have you lost faith in Tesla?

Lost faith? Tesla people sound more and more like a religion/cult by the day. I have two, probably won't buy another again and am even less likely to buy again if the supercharger network is completely opened up. Mercedes and Audi are still someway off but by 2025 I could see them having a car...

    Nightmare! (Supercharger queues)

I've had visits where I arrive early at Tebay (say before 8am) and it's empty but before I leave an hour later, there's a queue of 3 or 4 cars waiting. It's not so bad during the off peak season but summer and Christmas have been bad since 2020. I waited at least 10-20 minutes on all my visits...

    Nightmare! (Supercharger queues)

I was caught up in the Tebay saga, towards the tail end of it later in the evening as I only waited around 50 minutes. Still pretty bad, between the M8 Preston and Glasgow, there's a total of 18 superchargers. Should be double/triple that considering the amount of Teslas on that road, Tebay...

Second hand market coming to its senses?

Depends on age I think. I have a 2021 M3LR and a quote from this week was still within 2k of the purchase price. I imagine a 2019 car doesn't get the same price while still being the same model/car.

Model Y standard range for UK - will it happen

It will happen but probably not until mid-late 2023/2024 imo. I can see the LR just becoming the SR/basic MY when 4680 Ys are available with a 400 mi range.

    Model Y UK Delivery

Just delayed my delivery of my MYLR Red/19/white, was due to pick it up on the 16th but I have too much going on this month so will now be waiting until May. Hopefully it ends up in good hands:D

Could really do with a couple up in Thurso. Somewhere along the A96, somewhere like Keith or Huntly would also help. Additional capacity in Abington and Tebay would be good too. Those two fill up quickly outside of winter.

Would have preferred a city location but I guess it's still more capacity. Charging in Edinburgh is a pain in the backside at the moment and the lack of city superchargers in the UK is pretty disappointing compared to the US.

    UK standard 3 pin charging

Yes, I meant the socket, the plug is fine. It was only a short term thing while living between houses during a move. The plug in question was old but not that old. Maybe 15 years or so. It's been working fine since but I'm not going to risk it again when I move in a couple of weeks into my new...

    UK standard 3 pin charging

I did a couple of full 24hr charges in an older plug recently and the plug was all cracked and damaged afterwards. Swapped the plug out for a new one and now charge on 6A instead of 10A, no problems since. It's slower but better than a house fire.

SR+ name dropped, now just “Model 3” and listed range increased

Interesting to see that the M3P is now "340 est" rather than the M3 and M3LR showing 305 wltp and 360 wltp.
  45. I

Have you had a Model 3 LR delivered in the last 4-6 weeks/Q3?

335 miles @ 90% charge? That's around what I get at 100% on my April built LR, definitely gotta be a bigger battery if that's true, that would be 370 miles full. Pretty amazing for a £50k car.

UK Model Y Order Book Open

I will potentially wait 12-24 months for a MYP, by then the structural improvements and battery improvements may be in the German or MIC Ys which I would hope gets it north of 350 WLTP for the P. Happy with the range on my 3LR but couldn't go lower.
  47. I

UK Model Y Order Book Open

Yep, I find the range to be quite disappointing and enough so that I haven't ordered when I intended to order on day 1. I have a M3LR rated for 360mi, highest I've seen during 100% is 338mi and in the cold weather on a long trip it's 200-250mi at best. I wanted to go for the MYP but going down...

Model S/X Refresh UK Waiting Room

RHD models are always the last ones to be made. EU est is Q1 2022 so I would expect RHD models would be Q3/Q4 2022. The website originally said mid 2022.
