Supercharger - "free for life" or "free for the life of Model S"?

I think you are all right. I probably was "overthinking" it. Tesla have also confirmed that it is still the same: "free for life" not just for the life of that model car.

Supercharger - "free for life" or "free for the life of Model S"?

When Elon launched the Superchargers he said they were "free for life". To me this meant free for as long as the car was on the road. This could mean twenty or thirty years. Essentially Elon's boast was that you would never have to pay to use a supercharger. He didn't say anything about "free...

    False BMW claims

Somebody very kindly gave me an email address at Tesla so I have now forwarded my correspondence with the ASA to them and I hope they will deal with it from now on.

    False BMW claims

I have now a had a slightly more promising further response from the ASA as follows: Dear Mr Kelsey, Thank you for your email, I’m sorry you were disappointed with my response. I will reopen the file on your complaint and put the issue you raise before the independent ASA Council, who act as...

    False BMW claims

I appreciate the Top Gear based humour brianman but things aren't quite that bad here. The ASA is a serious organisation but it seems that they aren't taking this particular complaint very seriously. I'll keep on at them and see if I can persuade them to change their minds. If I had an address...

    False BMW claims

I have now received a reply from the Advertising Standards Authority, which it seems is a lion with no teeth! See Below: I'm very disappointed and will be replying to them shortly. Dear Mr Kelsey, Your complaint about BMW (UK) Ltd Thank you for contacting the Advertising Standards...

    False BMW claims

I appreciate the help yobigd20 but, just for the record, the exact quote from the Telegraph on that date was exactly as I quoted it in my original post. I wouldn't put an approximate quote on here would I. Of course they may well have written it differently elsewhere. Under the main title: SOME...

    Refuting Claims of other Manufactures

As I have pointed out in the thread "false BMW claims" BMW are advertising using the following text: "The new BMW i3, the world's first premium car to be truly born electric from the ground up." This appeared in their advert for the new car in the Daily Telegraph, a national newspaper, on...

    False BMW claims

It was in the Daily Telegraph, a national newspaper, on Tuesday August 27th, on page 3. It was part of the spiel in a half page advert, which had the main title "Some lead, others follow." Indeed, Tesla led and BMW followed! It's not a big deal but I don't think they should get away with lying...

    False BMW claims

The latest BMW advert in the UK for the new BMWi3 claims: "The new BMW i3, the world's first premium car to be truly born electric from the ground up." The Model S was launched in June 2012. It's a premium electric car, truly born electric from the ground up. The BMW claim is false and I've...
