Why do people consider other tires than the Continental ProContact RX “19? I assume that the OEM tires the most tested to match the Model Y characteristics. I also assume that Tesla doesn’t cut corners for quality. What are the benefits of the other brands?

Hi, I’m on a long road trip and the car accumulated a lot of dust. Should I be concerned about Autopilot sensors (aka repeaters) visibility? I can spray water on the vicinity (maybe coin op wash), or use my detailing spray, till I get home.

Is use BT a lot for playing Podcasts/Apple Music/YouTube. I also use Streaming - it’s easy to use and has is nicely curated. Don’t use Spotify that much as the UI isn’t that nice.

It’s a free market and you should have the right to pay your way into getting the car faster. But it also creates unnecessary scalping. I guess it has become big enough of an issue for Tesla. Especially since it takes some of the profit from them (economically speaking).

Hi, I need just a bit more storage for road trips. Since I have a hitch, I’m thinking of skipping the roof rack / cargo setup and go with a hitch cargo box (less expensive setup, easier to remove vs roof rack). Any thoughts? Anyone has experience with such a setup?

Reliability isn’t a big thing anymore, when the service comes to your house and with OTA updates. Also usually issues are not preventing you completely from driving. The abundance of features, great driving experience and high safety scores compensate for that. CR is unbiased in my belief...

That was my suspicion, which my further drive today confirmed (Total score continued to drop even though daily score continued to improve). Thus the idea do limit driving today. I actually go this idea from Jesse at NowYouKnowChannel in last week's episode.

I’ll check that but I think I already have the answer, which is I shouldn’t have continue driving: After driving to work, todays score got slight better but the day’s weight also increased, so in total I was dinged down by one further total point. So I guess if you screw things early in the day...

When I bought my Model Y back in March I was kinda pissed at the $1000 surprise price hike after making a configuration change. Looking back, I bought the car $5000 cheaper than today and only had to wait 3 weeks for delivery. How things change!

I’ll try to drive more and see where it takes me. If it improves then I’ll drive even more tonight :) BTW my average daily miles are ~25. I mostly drive autopilot on the highway so I don’t get penalized for breaks.

It just dinged I had a forward collision warning pop up. My total average went from 99 to 98. I fear if I drive more today it will account higher weight.

I hope I’m not repeating the question, Does anyone know if the weight of a bad drive is by the single drive miles or the entire day? Just wondering if I should cancel my plans :) I was at at 99 up until yesterday, but todays score is 49 :(.

BTW, my issue only resolved with Tesla replacing the RH body controller.

The big difference is iPhone is not used for emergency handling of a vehicle. It could be that excellent drivers will benefit but I doubt the average driver won’t at least see a huge learning curve while operating a dangerous machine which requires training and license.
