All US Cars capable of FSD will be enable for one month trial this week

Small claims has a significant judgement/award cap. Cool! You won (a fraction of what you could have/deserved). A win is a win I guess. But $10k is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Also, I kinda call BS on you. Everyone in my family (but me) is an attorney. 99% of the time, the...

All US Cars capable of FSD will be enable for one month trial this week

You would have to get out of the arbitration agreement that you signed when you purchased car. Arbitration agreements can be very hard to get out of. Tesla has a very, very hard agreement to get out of. Very few parties have successfully sued Tesla. The only lawsuits against Tesla that go...

Good year tires pop Tesla y

Actually you are wrong. Goodyear took full responsibility and offered a replacement set or credit. Multiple alignment shops have confirmed that the design of the tire was to blame. My alignment was correct upon inspection. Goodyear has apparently updated the design.

EV maker Fisker says it may go out of business

My neighbor took delivery of one of the first Ocean’s in SoCal. The car is weird. Software is laggy. The key fob never works, the buttons for “California Mode” don’t always work. The car drives fine and has plenty of power, but driving dynamics are a little quirky. Overall, I believe that...

Good year tires pop Tesla y

I used to have the Good Year Electric Drive GT tires in my ‘21 MY. Worst mistake I’ve ever made. Those tires were awful. I drive conservatively and they only lasted about 18k miles. They claimed to better suited for EV cars and were supposed to make the road noise quieter. This was simply...

Model Y LR Acceleration Boost still offered?

Just do it. It’s worth it for the points -a lot easier to swallow than a $2k cc charge). I mean.. what else you gonna do wi the them points? Buy a few t-shirts or T logo scribble onesie for the baby? In my opinion, this 9500 credits option for AB is one of the best purchases you can make from...

Model Y LR Acceleration Boost still offered?

I got the acceleration boost recently. I used referral credits (my wife would kill me if I “wasted” $2k). I did the upgrade after driving my ‘21 MYLR for the past 2.5 years. I’m glad I did it now (especially at no out of pocket - credit card charge) instead of right of the bat when my car had...

    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

One of the main reasons why don’t frequent this site anymore. Instead of intriguing conversation every thread ends up being a childish pissing contest. A couple years ago I made a post about my Model Y being involved in a car accident that wasn’t my fault. Posted videos and everything just to...

    Tesla Low Trade in Offer

Wow, you are actually complaining about having to setup a new car with the presets? “Just wow” I know, I know, your time is more valuable…

    Tesla Low Trade in Offer

Nope, I obviously have not been following the thread, in fact, I haven’t been on TMC for weeks. I just hoped on today.. No need to get snippy though…. “Just wow”

    Tesla Low Trade in Offer

My car didn’t come with the window sticker either - I had to specifically ask for it with the sales advisor. Because Tesla’s are sold directly to the consumer and not B2B they are not legally obligated to provide the Monroney sticker.
  12. ScoobyDoo82

    Tesla Low Trade in Offer

Buddy, order your new Model Y Performance through Tesla on the phone (this way you can facilitate the FSD transfer), on the same day that the new car arrives have your Model 3 picked up by Carvana or Carmax (eliminate the crappy Tesla trade-in situation). Have both transactions come to you...

Vampire Survivors game in model 3?

I have an MCU3 car and got 2023.32.6 today and the game wasn’t included on my update either..
  14. ScoobyDoo82

    Launch is Imminent

Lol, then what are you saying earlier about the price being too high for $70k. Look at your earlier post please!
  15. ScoobyDoo82

    Launch is Imminent

Right.. and they said we’d have full FSD every 2-weeks. Nothing they say should be taken as absolute fact. If anything, I would approach every Tesla announcement with an extra grain of salt. Model 3 was supposed to launch back in 2017 @ $35k, that didn’t happen. Elon keeps saying “full...
  16. ScoobyDoo82

    Launch is Imminent

Yea man.. you have to think about business economics. Tesla currently has all four of their vehicles strategically priced. For example, the more expensive LR S/X have (just barely) better 0-60 time and range. The Model 3 performance (with a 3.1 0-60) is the only “cheaper” vehicle to match the...

    Launch is Imminent

Lol.. the battery day claims are no better than Musk’s “two weeks” crap.
  19. ScoobyDoo82

    Launch is Imminent

Nothing from that way back announcement date has any meaning today. That was years ago. The S Plaid was 140k years ago too. You saying “50%” is not the case today.
  20. ScoobyDoo82

    Launch is Imminent

I honestly don’t see Tesla ever reaching a 500 mile vehicle with the current kWh battery packs they have been using. In order to reach 500 miles they would need to use a 200 kWh pack. 4680’s or 2170’s
  21. ScoobyDoo82

    Launch is Imminent

The tri will go for at least $100k, maybe more. If they released the tri-motor cyber truck for less of a cost of the Plaid models (tri-motor S/X) then they would be cannibalizing the current tri-motor models which currently cost $108k. Everybody who wanted a Plaid would just get the tri-motor...

Is my 2023 Tesla Model Y Performance totaled?

You’re not wrong. But unfortunately, I can’t control what the insurance company decided to do with my car. Deep down I was hoping that they totaled it. But, at the end of the day, they decided to pay over $20k to repair it. Sigh. But, then again.. this was during the time when the vehicle...

    Launch is Imminent

Quite costly indeed. I don’t think the CT will be cheap once the price/specs are released. I honestly think that it’s going to be more in line with Model S/X prices than 3/Y. Stainless steel, air suspension etc.. yeah, this is going to be an $80k (minimum) vehicle. Especially when you...

    Launch is Imminent

I don’t have any issues with trucks. Never been super for or against them. Trucks are a common vehicle in my line of work and I completely understand why people love them. It’s interesting to note though, I never considered a truck until the CT, Rivian R1T, and Ford F-150 Lightning became a...

    Launch is Imminent

You and I are more alike than you think! We don’t want a CT for towing or off-road activity.. we want the CT for its ability to carry the cargo! I for one have been really wanting a Tesla with air suspension. That is a big selling point for me more than anything. The coil springs in the Y...
  26. ScoobyDoo82

    Launch is Imminent

I could care less about towing in an EV pickup, or going off-road in a CT. I just want a truck that I can throw my Milwaukee Packout in and drive to work. For me the CT is a win. My Model Y has served my job needs fine, but getting all the tools in the hatch is tight. The CT will solve...

My 2021 MY wouldn’t turn on

Very good and helpful advice. Thank you! However, the link you provided for the the BT monitor doesn’t work. Can you please provide me with more info? I definitely want to get one asap. Thanks.

Is my 2023 Tesla Model Y Performance totaled?

It’s most likely not totaled. However, as someone who speaks from experience after a very similar accident repair on the same vehicle… your car will never be the same again after the repair. Even with “Tesla approved” repair centers doing the work, my car was never the same after my accident...

My 2021 MY wouldn’t turn on

Weird story for ya. Today I got home from work and relaxed for an hour before I had to leave for a doctors appointment. I got into my car to leave for the doctor appointment and was sitting there looking at a blank (black screen). Car was completely dead. The Tesla app was showing (my last...

Model Y - Gigafactory Texas Production

Well.. yeah.. F would have to cut prices to hang with the CT. I’m a fan of Ford and have always respected them for coming out of the the ‘08 crisis without government assistance (unlike GM). I also genuinely like Farley. But… the Ford electric vehicles will probably never get even close to...

Model Y - Gigafactory Texas Production

Who cares if the car is going to an employee or first reserving customer. The point is that Tesla has finally produced vin/serial 000001 and production is officially underway and that the project has moved out of the pre-production phase more or less. This is the beginning of the light...

    Retrofit for Steam

Yea.. it principal or not - the Steam integration is not very good! It’s not any better than a Steamdeck, and any multiplayer games with cheat protection won’t run on the Linux API (Tesla or Steamdeck). So what’s the point? Play GTA V or Cyberpunk in your car that much? Not worth it.
  33. ScoobyDoo82

Rotate tires or just get new ones?

There is zero chance that all 4 tires are at 6/32 after 25k miles - regardless of how easy you are on the acceleration/driving habits. All dual motor 3/Y Tesla’s are primarily rear-drive dominant. Even if you’ve baby’d the car after 25k miles your rears will be more worn. I call BS.
  34. ScoobyDoo82

Rotate tires or just get new ones?

Yes.. I agree with this. However 4/32 can quickly become 2/32 which is bad. OP, keep an eye out on those rears! 2/32 is not safe to drive on! Basically, the moment you feel the rear end “shimmy” on the freeway @ 75mph you know it’s too late.
  35. ScoobyDoo82

Rotate tires or just get new ones?

As a general rule, you SHOULD rotate your tires on a Tesla every 6,250 miles. These cars roast tires. I’m on my 3rd set of tires on my Model Y after 55k miles - and that’s with doing my own rotations as per the recommendation. If you don’t rotate, the rears will quickly get chewed up while...

    DIY tire rotation

Nowadays pretty much any 18v impact driver will do the trick. Doesn’t even have to be lug nut/socket style impact. My 1/4” hex Milwaukee Fuel M18 impact with an 1/2” socket adapter cracks the 129 ft/lb with no problem. These newer power tools produce a ridiculous amount of power now that they...

    Tesla and MyQ

I used to share the same opinion as you. That all changed when my garage started to close while I was backing in. The MyQ api bypasses the infrared beam between the two sides of the garage door track, the API call had glitched out and my garage began to close on my car. It’s completely...

Convince me to stay with a Model X

Here’s one key reason to keep the Model X…. How many other cars (that’s not a Rolls Royce or Bentley) let alone, EV’s have fully automated power doors?! The Falcon wings are cool yea yea.. but the fact that the front driver and passenger doors are full auto open and close is my favorite...

Can I use a tire sealant as a temporary fix to get me to a tire shop?

Don’t use “fix-a-flat” type sealants! They screw up your TPMS sensors and could end up costing you a lot more than a new tire in the long run.

    FSD 2023 build

I resubscribed Thursday night and received 2023.12.10 Friday afternoon. What was odd was that I received a Navigation/Maps update as soon as I pulled into my garage this afternoon - first dedicated “maps” update I’ve ever had in 2 years. Then immediately after that, my car started to download...

    Goodbye all; Good riddance Tesla

At the end of the day, all car companies (and especially dealers) suck! It doesn’t matter the name or the demand for said vehicle. The car business is a wild thing. Enjoy your BMW. Hopefully Tesla will get their customer service game in check, maybe then you’ll be tired of BMW and come back!

    FSD-beta 2023.6.15 rollout speculation

I get ya. Honestly, $100 or $200 is not worth either at this point. I’ve wasted so much money and feel duped.
  45. ScoobyDoo82

    FSD-beta 2023.6.15 rollout speculation

If you paid for EAP, then your subscription price should only be $100/month.. not $200. The $200 price is for cars that only have basic AP and want to get EAP features (NavOnAP, Summon, and Autopark) and FSD (eventually). Cars with EAP just adding FSD access only pay $100/month
  46. ScoobyDoo82

    FSD-beta 2023.6.15 rollout speculation

Please read above. Paying the $200 is basically just for auto lane changes. Sure, you can full around with summon.. but it will only do what you want it to 1/10 times and the other 9 times that you say to a buddy “hey check this out!” Your car will end up parking itself in the middle of the...

    Plaid Regrets?

Yea the faster zero to 60 is great and all.. but in the MYP you need to replace the tires every 10,000 miles.. especially if you are demonstrating the faster speed. Not being able to rotate the tires is a HUGE mistake. The ride quality not “being so bad” is subjective to the locale. On a...

    FSD 2023 build

Lol.. welcome to the club. You just spent over $100k for the “Walmart” experience of car ownership.
  49. ScoobyDoo82

    Plaid Regrets?

The only thing that sucks about the Model Y performance is that they chose to ship the car on 21” wheels with low profile tires - like rubber bands, with hardly any sidewall on COIL SUSPENSION. Ride is rough as hell. Then, to add insult to injury, they decided to stagger the setup so now you...

Homelink Not Available for 2023 Model Y?

Although the MyQ is pretty great and safe… be careful with putting your trust in the open/closed state. I’ve had MyQ in my Tesla get the state confused and close an already open garage and vice versa. Also, my MyQ in the Tesla sometimes doesn’t work without the 10 beep/flash delay, but usually...
