They can (and will, eventually) but for now the existing Model Y production is (presumably) running at capacity. Until they get Germany and Texas facilities up and running to make more Model Ys, I don't see them swapping out higher revenue/margin product (LR and P) for lower revenue/margin...

The MY SR is a bit of a unicorn these days. I agree with Ken_Y's speculation that it returns at a later date with the LFP battery but at a higher price. I just don't think it'll be Q4 since Tesla demand is already good through Q4 2021. I think it's late Q1/early Q2 2022 before it emerges...

Ah, gotcha. Yes, you are right. Buying the LR over the SR does provide you with an additional motor and acceleration boost in addition to the range.

What's the updated trim? Yours should/will have the updated console with the leather and suede finish instead of the piano black.

Looks like they're hitting you with the price increase of the SR that were on again, off again, on again. It was my understanding that the $39,990 was a limited time and then they reverted some of these back to the $41,990 plus an additional $1,000 to account for two rounds of $500 price...

Someone reported this earlier but it looks like they've increased the base price of an SR Model Y from $39,990 to $42,990 on these.
