    SPAN - Smart Electrical Panel

Hi, all, I have a 10 kW Sunpower solar system with two Powerwall 2 batteries, located in TX. I just got the Span panel x 2 installed, and too early to draw conclusions, but there seems to be some issues that I have noticed, thus far. One such issue seems to be now that my Tesla app sometimes...

    Rear Quarter Panel Damage Assessment

Hi everyone, Just got rear-ended on the highway earlier today when avoiding a Prius that lost control in front of me, and was wondering what your best guess would be on repair costs for the damage seen in the photo below for my Tesla. I will let you all know what the cost turns out to be once...

WHERE is our Carbon Fiber Spoiler and Badging!?!?!

I heard the same thing about poor adherence to ceramic coating. I was told that the ceramic coating could only be removed by polishing.

Does anyone else have zero interest in EAP?

I also like the idea of a subscription service for Enhanced Autopilot - I would probably pay $100/mo for it, too.

Any others with this early issue on the Model 3 headlights?

Hi, everyone, In August 2018, I sold my RWD Model 3 to upgrade to the AWD version. The RWD Model 3 had the phantom touch screen issue, requiring replacement of the screen, and the AWD Model 3 that I just picked up has a headlight issue, as follows: I picked up the AWD Model 3 (VIN 100,XXX) on...

Red Model 3 for sale 'cause Performance big brother is coming

Interesting, I have a silver Model 3 LR, 6,600 miles, and everything except EA and FSD, and today, 8-3-18, Vroom offered me $47K, but givemethevin.com offered only $46.5K and said that they couldn't match or beat Vroom’s offer. I’m going with Vroom.

Phantom touch on the Model 3

Randy1077, that is exactly what the phantom touches look like on my screen, too, with the Sketchpad open. I'm still waiting for a firmware update to hopefully fix this issue, as I am still having to reset the touchscreen while driving when it happens, occurring maybe 1 or 2 days per week, on...

Lights stay on after exit and music keeps playing

Hi, all of the above is still occurring on my car, despite being on firmware 2018.4.9 700fb88. I will let you all know how Tesla solves this, I plan on contacting them next week.

Phantom touch on the Model 3

Yes, unfortunately! I am on 2018.4.9 700fb88. I am waiting now for Tesla to guide me to the next step - wait for yet another firmware update, or replace the screen/hardware. When driving, I still get the volume changing on its own and random phantom inputs on the screen. Once, when this was...

Phantom touch on the Model 3

Unfortunately I spoke too soon - I am still having phantom input issues, despite removing the clear film from the screen! Tesla Tech Support states that an upcoming firmware update should take care of this issue. If not, they tell me that the MCU/computer screen will have to be replaced!

    Volume changing on its own

Another OP Update: Hi, y'all, I apologize, but I think I spoke too soon - I am still having issues with phantom inputs and volume changing on its own, despite removing the clear film from the screen! I spoke with Tesla Tech Support again, and they told me to expect at firmware update soon to...

Phantom touch on the Model 3

I had the same issue as the OP - turns out that at delivery, the film over the screen was not removed, and that appeared to be the cause of the phantom inputs and volume changes! Remove the clear film from the touchscreen, and it should fix the issue of phantom inputs!

    Volume changing on its own

Update: Hi all, Turns out that the issue was actually a simple oversight! The clear film over the screen was not removed at delivery, and that seems to have been the cause of the screen inputs and random sound volume changes! Don’t forget to peel the film off the screen at delivery!

    Volume changing on its own

Hi, everyone, Just picked up Model 3 yesterday. Today, on my commute, the music volume would go all the way up or down, on its own. I tried to reset, mess around with the left scroll wheel, adjust steering column, etc. No luck. Tech support says that an upcoming firmware update should fix it...

Driver side door won't open or close

I recently had the same issue as OP ckwong. The fix for me was as follows: 1. Perform reset (using scroll wheels). 2. Manually open driver door fully. Step out. 3. From outside of the car, slowly close the door (over a 20 sec duration). 4. Using FOB, lock the car, then unlock, then lock, then...

I agree, I find TACC to be untrustworthy, unfortunately. I have experienced sudden deceleration to 45 mph while driving 65 mph on a local tollway while using Autopilot. Solar inverted needed with Powerwall 2.0?

Hi, there, It appears that for new installs, a separate inverter is indeed required, as per a local installer TreeHouse in Austin. Here is a direct quote from them per an email inquiry that I sent them recently: Yes, Powerwall V2 is $5,500! This is the cost of the battery only and does not...

Sold my 2013 S85 to CarMax - Price Data Point

Maybe it varies by region, but I recently got a $71K offer from Carmax for my one year and one month old Tesla P85+ with 10K miles ($115K purchase price). It was less than the $77K offered by Tesla, and it was less than the low-mid 80's offered as a trade in credit by BMW.

12V battery issue- stranded at Mt Shasta supercharger

I just got a call from Tesla, and they did explain to me that it was a main battery pack issue rather than the 12V battery. 12V battery issue- stranded at Mt Shasta supercharger

Agreed, as well as the low profile tires on the 21" wheels, which are very susceptible to sidewall damage. This morning as I was getting ready to leave for work, I hopped in the car and my Tesla, 13 months old (VIN P17833), notified me on the driver screen that the 12V battery power was low...

    2013 P85+ trade-in value at local BMW

Hey, guys, I am a little bit like TexEx in that I like to change cars more frequently than recommended! 2013 P85+ trade-in value at local BMW

Greetings, guys, Today I went to my local BMW here in Houston, as I was simply interested in what my 2013 P85+ would trade in for. My car cost $114,520. It has 8,500 miles. 10 months old. Perfect condition. Guess how much they offered me? In the mid $80's. Just wanted to share that with you...

    Charge port pops open

My car does this as well - I unplug the UMC from the car and walk to the other side of the car to place the UMC on its wall hanger, and then by the time I walk towards the driver door to get in, the charge port occasionally pops open spontaneously! I might mention it to the Service Center next...

Regen and Brake Lights - Highway Issue

I agree with this post. I certainly don't want the brake lights to come on after passing someone on the highway and returning to the right lane. I'm used to briefly coasting upon return (with my foot over the brake pedal just in case, especially if there is a car somewhat close in front of me)...

Anyone know where I can rent a Model S 85kWh or P85 in Houston, TX?

There are, however, Tesla charging stations at the Houston Galleria (mall) and likely at the service center (although I'm not sure if they are accessible there). The spots at the mall, I find, are oftentimes occupied, even on a random weekday. Good luck

U are probably correct. They were not exactly identical to the 21s, but very close in appearance. Maybe this is what the OP was referring to?

TM/OEM 19" Turbine wheels -- the real story?

I also remember the 19 inch Turbine-style wheels being online briefly, and as of last month, I was surprised that they were actually still on display at the Houston TX Galleria store. They were silver, not gunmetal. You should try calling them.

Help on going from 19's to 21's

I live in Pothole City aka Houston, and I regret getting the 21" wheels (I suppose I had to since I got the + version), as I have had 2 flat tire incidents in the first 2 months of ownership after two (relatively) minor sidewall tire scrapes (one on curb, one on pothole). I am awaiting...

    Service Bulletins

Hi, there, I received my Tesla Model S in Sep 2013, and thus far, one of my only complaints is this squeaky brake issue, which occurs when almost at a stop. Early in my ownership, I mentioned this to the local service center (Houston, TX) and I was told that it was normal for this type of...

Another flat tire Hi, everyone, Last night I got another flat tire after driving over a relatively shallow pothole here on the streets of Houston, TX (near Chinatown/Bellaire). I was going maybe 30 miles/hr, and when I drove over the small pothole, it didn't seem like any significant issue...
