Reading another thread, I see that it is possible, but the process is convoluted. I am not able to follow the other thread's instructions--how do I change the scheduled departure time to a charging start time? Any screenshots/detailed instructions would be really appreciated.

Is there any aftermarket software that will allow me to set the charging start time, perhaps different start times for different days of the week or a custom schedule? The Tesla app just has a start charging now option, and then there is the option to specify what level you want to charge to and...

Oh wow, good to know. Pass on that option, then. And now I remember Tesla also updating them because of too many warranty returns/claims. IIRC, Tesla blamed the Chinese supplier...!

jcanos, thank you for the great info. I will look at the other options ...the Tesla charger is my last choice simply because it is Tesla specific (if I understand it correctly). I would prefer to be able to charge any brand electric vehicle, if possible.
