Question -- do you know if a plugging a puncture is permanent, or can a tire shop reverse the plug and put a proper patch in? I guess I'm wondering if I can plug in an emergency so that I can get to a tire shop on my own and then properly repair the puncture and avoid voiding the warranty.

There's a bunch of different patch kits on Amazon that I'm seeing. Anything you would recommend?

Update: the tire had a nail embedded in the inner sidewall. Tire guy told me slime wouldn't have saved me with the position the nail was in. New tire installed, and I am very impressed with Tesla roadside assistance.

Yeah the slime kit I have includes the compressor. Couldn't increase pressure above about 25psi and it would fall once I turned it off. We'll see how bad the puncture is once I get to the tire shop.

I have the cloth seats and a 1.5 year old. Absolutely no regrets--the cloth is fantastic. Also, cleanup doesn't seem to be an issue thus far, although I don't give my kid any liquids other than water when we're in the car, so I can't speak to milk/OJ/apple juice/whiskey/beer.

I'm so paranoid about this happening that I'm parking a good foot short of curbs until I get a better feel of where the limits of the car are. The parking sensors are problematic in that they can't detect curbs that are tall enough to scrape the undershield. If only there were a way to "aim"...

Ended up costing $650 -- $300 for paint correction and $350 for coating. If I recall correctly he also offers Opticoat and 22PLE as other coating options.

Yeah living in Orange County I have the benefit of good roads (not many potholes) and great weather year-round. If I lived elsewhere the 21s would have been an easy "no" on my order sheet.

The only issue I had was that there is a grey plastic strip on the panorama roof between the glass and the headliner that had some really oily fingerprints on it. They fixed that in about 2 minutes :D You have excellent taste ;)

Update - car went into production Friday morning (3/21/2014) and is complete and being prepared for delivery as of this morning, 10:30AM. I guess they're working weekends/nonstop to produce.

I'm 99% sure it's not yet available. The 2013 form was released around January or February of this year, if I recall correctly.

Update: as of 10:05AM VIN 34759 is finally IN PRODUCTION! :biggrin:

My crappy detective work suggests that SimpleSolar's setup is Vorsteiner VSC-101 or VSM-310 in gloss black. Looking at the rear wheel pic I think I see a tire size of 285/35-20. Those are some gorgeous wheels.

I probably would have crashed trying to take a phonepic of it. Living in Orange County I see plenty of nice cars, but the first time I saw a 458 in white with gunmetal wheels I pretty much drooled onto my shirt.
