Am I crazy? Model Y without home charger...

OP lives in Staten island, NY which is about 2500 miles away from you. I go to NYC area (NYC, Staten island, Long Island) all the time to visit my families and there are no superchargers cheaper than home charging rate.

Am I crazy? Model Y without home charger...

Supercharger rates are about 4-5 times more than home charging cost, so your fuel savings will be minimal at best.

    Goodyear Eagle 1 tire damage

Tire/wheel doesn't move by themselves. The driver is the culprit and responsible for the curb damage.

    Brake Service

Has anyone DIY'd MYP brake service? (Removing caliper and brake pads, and then clean and lube). The manual says replace the bolts and I am wondering Tesla service sells those bolts or I can just reuse those bolts. I have owned many German cars with those "one time bolts" and reused multiple...

Should I change both rear tires?

There's no benefit of switching side to side. Most wear for the MYP rear tires will be faster inside wear due to several factors, such as factory camber setup, acceleration, load, etc.

Should I change both rear tires?

OP has MYP = no rotation

Should I change both rear tires?

Just replace this tire. Thread looks good and should be on the other side. There's absolutely no need to waste money. I have done this many times due to nails and did not impact anything. Also, you can simply plug with the plug kit and it will hold since the area is still contacting the ground...

    Model 3 Window tints acceptable?

They left the gap too much. It is amateur quality job at best. They probably used cheap precut film.

Burning 25ft 10/3 cords using my mobile connector in the rain with a 120v outside GFCI outlet

electrical fire is very dangerous that you don't want to experience. Improperly used wires and connection can burn the whole house down within minutes.

    Bye.
  17. N

Tesla still has build quality concern.

Try to apply some masking tape over the gap and re test it. it might not be the culprit of the noise. Is this your first EV? maybe you have too much expectation in terms of noise. It is not ZERO noise car.
  18. N

Tesla still has build quality concern.

It must be the interior trim pieces or weather seals. IF (hypothetically speaking) Tesla removed and replaced "A-Pillar", your car is totaled.
  19. N

Tesla still has build quality concern.

A Pillar is not a removable part. It is part of the vehicle structural body. Are you referring to the interior trim or weather seal/strip?

    Car wash?

Car wash places use the water filter before they spray water to the fabric and silicone "brushes" through the nozzle. So those small dirt particles that you mentioned, they are already filterd out before they reach the nozzle. Otherwise, those particles will clogged up the nozzle before they...

    Painted Brake Calipers Voids Warranty

Remove and Reinstall part is totally legal and protected by the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. The issue is the "modification" part and Tesla can argue that the caliper was "modified" by the owner. https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/businesspersons-guide-federal-warranty-law#Magnuson-Moss

Is the new Macan EV a MY killer?

Honda is way too late to this EV game. They don't have anything special.
  26. N

    Painted Brake Calipers Voids Warranty

The tech is as dumb and clueless as high school dropouts working at the fast lube places. It is not the removal and reinstall of the parts. It is the paint that you applied on the caliper. Spray paint can get into the areas that can cause "sticking" issue that can create the noise that you are...

Is the new Macan EV a MY killer?

not $30k better. maybe $10k better in some areas, and the rest of the cost is just the name you pay for it. Also, the average price of Macan will be at least the double the price of MYs.

Model Y Alignment & Anxiety-Triggering-Angles on the Steering Wheel

Not really. If the alignment is way off the limit and cannot be adjusted for whatever reason, Tesla should cover the work. Based on your post, your car alignment was way off (or you were exaggerating a bit), and you should be able to notice within 100 miles after you took the delivery.

Charger port cover broke from power outage

Is that a scratch on the tail light going from the charging port door to the tail light? It locks like something hit the area. I also see some scratched paint on the body just forward of the charging port door.
  36. N

Model Y Alignment & Anxiety-Triggering-Angles on the Steering Wheel

It sounds like an warranty work rather than modifying yourself with a drill. Every car I have owned had some kind of steering/alignment issue, so it is not Tesla specific issue. I have no issues with the alignment, so as my other friends and family members (15 Tesla cars total) have no issue...

    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

I think CarWow is highly biased against Tesla. They used snow tire equipped Model X Plaid compete with other brand cars with summer performance tire, and they constantly do this kind of negatives against Tesla. I guess they get paid big bucks by the other legacy auto makers.

MY23 - Windows move when I first get in and press brake pedal - version 2023.44.30.4

It has been that way for a long time. When the temperate outside falls below certain level, the windows go down slightly after you close the door to prevent potential stuck/frozen windows. When you press the brake pedal, all the windows will go up to fully closed position.

What features do you wish the Model Y came with (Dec 2022/Jan 2023) Wishlist

Widget is just a shortcut to the Tesla app, so when you press the frunk button in the widget. it will either open/close and then take you to the actual app.

What features do you wish the Model Y came with (Dec 2022/Jan 2023) Wishlist

Yes you can. Assuming you have an iPhone (if not it might or might not applicable), you can create a Tesla app widget on the phone and you can use the widget to control the frunk for both open and close functions without any issue.

until another Tesla updates mess up the button functions and we have to wait until the buttons get their own update which is a hassle.

In my own opinion, painting anything on the car makes the car look tacky, especially coloring the badges and logos, etc.
