    [UK] 2024.8.x

I have EAP on my 3 but seem to be last to the party most of the time. My colleague who doesn't have EAP on his Y always gets them weeks before me!

    Camping in/with a Tesla

I camp in my 3 with my two kids (10 and 12) every year since I've had the car. I have home made window blinds which are padded on the inside and have dark velvety fabric on the outside, put the rear seats down and use matting and a big duvet. It's a bit cramped but works just fine. I use the...

Late 2021 onwards MIC Model 3s Have poor/faulty air conditioning from factory

I'm afraid your guess is as good as mine. I'm sure if you got the same tech assigned they would remember though. If enough of these get fixed then maybe it'll go into their system so that other techs can see the fix. It's a shame there was no part number or anything mentioned on my invoice really!

Late 2021 onwards MIC Model 3s Have poor/faulty air conditioning from factory

This is clearly a fairly widespread problem but as it's not that serious the SCs have been able to fob people off!
  5. ChrisSFoot

Late 2021 onwards MIC Model 3s Have poor/faulty air conditioning from factory

It was MK. It had been in before where they did the system tests and told me nothing was wrong! I'm guessing that the factory either had the wrong instructions or a short supply of the part so just left it out!

    Sanity check model 3 vents

This is the exact problem I was having with my car which the service centre have now fixed. Details here: Late 2021 onwards MIC Model 3s Have poor/faulty air conditioning from factory

Model Y Air Blowers on face

I wasn't responding to that post, which is why I didn't quite that post. I was responding to the issue in the thread in general! My model 3 had virtually the same problem until Tesla service fitted the bit of foam insulation that the factory forgot. Now the vents adjust right up to the ceiling...

Model Y Air Blowers on face

Maybe you have the issue we talked about here: Late 2021 onwards MIC Model 3s Have poor/faulty air conditioning from factory

MIC 2021/22 AC problem - anyone in the Oz forum had this?

I have had this issue for two years and have now had it fixed. More details here: Late 2021 onwards MIC Model 3s Have poor/faulty air conditioning from factory

Late 2021 onwards MIC Model 3s Have poor/faulty air conditioning from factory

I finally got fed up of not being able to get any air to my face and went in for service again today. This time they found that there was a bit of foam insulation missing from inside the dash so the air was mostly just going back behind there instead of out of the vent. Insulation fitted and now...

Idiots in Carparks (why we can't have nice things)

This is exactly what happened to me (except it was Wickes carpark and it was pretty much empty and the numpty chose next to me instead of the other 100 empty spaces). Police not interested at all and it's going to court as the other insurance company still won't pay out!

First Long Drive - autopilot problems

I'm on 2022.36.6 and had this 3 times at the weekend on NOA. The last time it happened was directly after me ignoring it's request to do an unnessary lane change (move to the overtaking lane to follow route!?) and I was holding the wheel and looking out of the window like a good boy when it...

Late 2021 onwards MIC Model 3s Have poor/faulty air conditioning from factory

MK Service centre agreed that it was not right but couldn't find any hardware issues so they suggested it might be a software fault. My colleague's Fremont M3 delivered 6 months before mine works correctly, mine does not :(
  14. ChrisSFoot

Late 2021 onwards MIC Model 3s Have poor/faulty air conditioning from factory

It seems more and more like there was an issue for just a few months from the china factory perhaps. Mine is was delivered June 21. It doesn't matter what settings I set on the screen, the air never goes above my neck height, the passenger side does seem to be fine though. Tesla service said...

Late 2021 onwards MIC Model 3s Have poor/faulty air conditioning from factory

So I just got off the phone to Tesla Service MK. My aircon did actually start blowing cold before I took it in for service, just after I got the 2022.16.3 firmware but it's currently not able to blow above chest hight so I get a hot head! Tesla Service said that there were no faults or errors...

Late 2021 onwards MIC Model 3s Have poor/faulty air conditioning from factory

That's the next version on from what I'm on. There's one version newer than that 2022.20.5 but it's not rolled out much in the UK yet. TeslaFi has lots of interesting stats!
  17. ChrisSFoot

Late 2021 onwards MIC Model 3s Have poor/faulty air conditioning from factory

When I first got my M3P last June the air-con blew cold immediately, now it doesn't blow cold at all. I'm convinced they've nobbled it in software. My car is going in on Thursday so maybe I'll know more then. I'm on 2022.12.3.16
  18. ChrisSFoot

Late 2021 onwards MIC Model 3s Have poor/faulty air conditioning from factory

I've noticed this on mine as well. Had already booked it in when I found this thread. I found it fine before they implemented this 'fix', now it's pathetic. I also get a lot of clicking behind the dashboard when the air-con is attempting to work. Could it be related to this: Tesla recalls Model...

    Games while driving

Plenty of adults play games too, my Mrs (who is often in the front of my car) is one of them!

    Games while driving

Oh well, I guess we might as well just scrap any form of self driving all together then, just in case someone decides to climb into the back while it's on. Better disable the horn after 11pm in case someone decides to drive around beeping all the time. In fact, maybe people shouldn't be allowed...

    Games while driving

Opinions like this are the reason that so much of autopilot is restricted in the EU. What happened to trusting people to follow the law and be responsible for their actions?
  22. ChrisSFoot

    Games while driving

The point is, like seatbelt wearing that you mentioned earlier, this is already illegal to do and you'll get points for being caught doing it if you're the driver. Disabling the use of the games at all while in motion disadvantages the front passenger but doesn't appear to offer any benefits to...
  23. ChrisSFoot

    Games while driving

So what you're saying is that we should no longer trust people to follow the law or 'do the right thing' and instead should just force everyone to do so instead? Starting to sound a bit minority report!
  24. ChrisSFoot

    Games while driving

But they can self regulate their speed? That doesn't make sense. It seems that what you're saying is that because some people are idiots then the rest of us should suffer? That person who doesn't have the self restraint to not play a game while driving will probably just use their mobile phone...
  25. ChrisSFoot

    Games while driving

Personally I think that drivers should be taking responsibility for their actions. Yes, you can play some of the games when driving (might be just solitaire and skyforce) but you have to press the "I am a passenger" button. You can also drive at 145mph, that's not legal in many places. Why...

    Dinged.... with PPF

They haven't actually told me what they are going to do about it in that regard but they did indeed request the footage.
  27. ChrisSFoot

    Dinged.... with PPF

It's being done by Frosts in Milton Keynes (they are a Tesla approved bodyshop) but I've no idea what they are planning to do or how much it'll cost the insurance company. All I know is that they want it for 3 days!
  28. ChrisSFoot

    Dinged.... with PPF

I've a dent in my passenger door caused by when the numpty who parked next to me (in a virtually empty Wickes car park) tripped when getting out of his door and slammed it into mine! He didn't even look at my car to see if it was damaged. I didn't notice till I got home or I'd have waited for...

Does anyone else car leak water?

One thing to remember is that most cars stop their air-con when you stop the engine. Teslas keep it running till you get out the car and then sometimes for a while afterwards so you are much more likely to see the water than in an ice car. Additionally, it seems that the outlet is close to the...

New style Aero Cap covers now in stock

I got these ones from Aliexpress in grey and I think they look pretty nice. The colour is a good match for the wheels. Undecided whether to keep the red kerb protection trim (already saved me as you can see from the photo...) or change it to black though! Can be found here: 25.81US $ 24%...

Enhanced autopilot - broken and overpriced

Then clearly what we need to do is crowd fund some shiny new Teslas for anyone in the British chair, I bet that would speed up relaxing the regulations! 🤣

Enhanced autopilot - broken and overpriced

Would be lovely if the government decided to see sense and make our own rules. Wasn't that what a big part of the Brexit campaign was based on? Doubt we'll see any changes though

Enhanced autopilot - broken and overpriced

So I went on a different road today, one that supported NOA and it was able to do the lane changes while it was enabled. I had previously tried to use it on a fairly major dual carriageway that doesn't support NOA and it didn't work so presumably you can only use it on roads that are NOA...

Enhanced autopilot - broken and overpriced

If that is indeed the case I wish they would update the manual as the current downloaded manual says : Auto Lane Change is available whenever Autosteer is active.

Enhanced autopilot - broken and overpriced

I’ve had my Model 3 for a little while now and I’ve come to the conclusion that Enhanced Autopilot is hugely overpriced and mostly broken. It’s currently £3,400 for the following: 1.Navigate on Autopilot This seems to be basically never available, I’ve not seen the option in any of my...

New Model 3 came with short charge cable

I picked up my model 3 LR from Brent Cross yesterday and have come to charge it this afternoon and found that they have only given me a 3m charging cable. The previous tesla my company bought at the start of the year came with a 6m cable. Unfortunately, the chargers at my workplace are across...

Model 3 is getting pedestrian warning noises (AVAS)?

My Renault Zoe from 2016 has a dedicated button for it's PWS. I'm pretty sure it's forward and reverse. You can temporarily disable it or choose from 3 different sounds by holding the button. I used to compulsively turn it off when I first got the car but just completely forget about it now as...

Tesla - Extended Order Status v0.2 [user developed chrome extension]

I've tried the extension and I like where you're going with it! It doesn't work very well for me though, I have a delivery appointment of May 21st and found my VIN in the final invoice document, however, the extension says no vin assigned and delivery in June

Thanks for the info guys. Seems like they just matched me with one on the boat from China which I believe means the newest interior 😁😁😁. Very excited, bit of a step up from my Renault Zoe with its 60 miles of range!! 😂

Wiki UK 2021 Orders and Pending Deliveries

I ordered my M3LR on 19th April and had delivery date today of 21st March. Tesla rep said they have matched my order to existing stock and I'm picking up from the showroom in Brent Cross. No VIN yet though weirdly! Does this mean I'm getting an ex demo?
