I didn’t pay attention. Maybe someone can decipher from the photo? I don’t see MFG from the photo but again I don’t really know about license plates.

This one has perfect fit and finish

What an exciting night! After an awesome event and some interesting ADS discussions with the Director of Perception of Cruise, on my way back, a set of very bright light bar shaped like ___ - - caught my attention when it approached from behind. I thought I was pretty familiar with all the...

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

April 2021. I think the retrofit is only for model y build after Jan 2021. But if you have already DIYed, you may have better chance to activate the button than before.

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

Reporting back. Today I was waiting in the car and the fan felt extra strong. I went to turn down the Fan and saw the Biohazard button! Yes! Tesla did it remotely and free of charge. There is also a message in my Tesla app from a nice technician explaining that the work has been done and no need...

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

Parts were less than 100, nowadays they are doubled. Installation labor should be 200+

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

Well, I already paid for parts and DIYed the installation. The button is just an OCD thing, will I pay $153 for OCD? I think it will depend on my mood during the appointment.

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

Sure, I will report back. In fact, they changed the date and told me they are missing parts and payment estimate is wrong. I think the reddit poster got lucky. I told them my parts are already installed, I just need the button, they then changed the appointment to next Thursday and changed...

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

Woohoo, what a twist! They said ignore the previous message and set up an appointment for free! Finally! Have been asking for this for almost two years.

    Ok, they said no.

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

It looks like the retrofit is officially available (though not listed), at least for model y produced after Jan 2021. I have sent a service request quoting the document screenshot from this post and let’s see how Tesla responses.

Unable to make it to Kettleman on Performance Model Y (from Fremont to LA)

310x184miles = 57 kWh. You can’t squeeze 57kwh from your 74 pack? Seems weird. My LR got there all the way from San Bruno, doing 80 on 280 in the rain, then 90 on i5 since it seemed I would have plenty charges left, and get there with 14% left.

    Replacement Tires for 19" wheels

Accidentally posted it and no way to edit. I previously reported that my new DWS06+ tires have reduced the range by 10%. The America’s Tire shop that changed my tires don’t do wheel alignment on Teslas, so I had my wheels aligned at Firestone last week, for the first time after 24k miles. The...

    Y tires

They do! I had 4 flat tires last year and two of them are unfixable. Which let me eventually changed all tires prematurely. Three things I can think of. 1. Wider tires. 2 higher tire pressure. 3 fsd beta, it does not always move like human so higher chance end up driving over debris.

Do you enjoy using "Autosteer on city streets" (current pre-release FSD) -- a poll

If the city street is just like NYC downtown, I’d vote no. However it helped me on a lot of. Suburb drives especially road trips involving long segments of 2 lane road. AP wasn’t too good there.

Do you enjoy using "Autosteer on city streets" (current pre-release FSD) -- a poll

Hey Brad. Love your insight on self driving cars. I voted first option. FSD has a steep learning curve but once you mastered it, it’s gonna be very helpful. It is a better AP, just accept it can’t do everything well and correct often.
  18. G

Has anyone heard of a Tesla being rear ended because of phantom braking?

There was multiple incidents claim or suspect AP was in use during crash. One example is a model S with old couple in Florida (both died), recently just proved to have nothing to do with AP. But I don’t remember hearing Tesla correcting anything.

    Electrify America general discussion

My point is he got more than what he paid for, and you I assume and everyone else got less. unreliable charging networks are the fault of the networks not the people taking the free charges from them.
  20. G

    Electrify America general discussion

By your logic, he (and me TBH) clearly got more than what he paid for, compare to everyone else who didn’t take the free charging advantage of EA’s failure.
  21. G

Famous YouTuber shows how FSD has major phantom braking problems. Still.

I’m ok with people having extremely negative opinions towards Tesla. However, making up things and being a troll only reduce your creditability and damage whatever agenda you want to push. Kyle only gets his FSD beta after wide release.

    Why not OEM tires?

Continental ExtremeContact DWS06+ currently at 300wh/mi after 2k miles, vs 283wh/mi I got on stock ProContact tires (20k miles before popped), with a more conservative driving style on the new tires. Note my first 10k miles had a poor 290+ efficiency due to an aftermarket part, after its removal...

    Replacement Tires for 19" wheels

What a pity. Pirellis was actually my choice if not for the DWS06+ discount I got. Maybe try the comfort suspension retrofit if they become available.
  24. G

    Why not OEM tires?

I’d agree. However… I use Kettleman City as my go to fuel station traveling to and from LA/LV. I enjoyed the lunch there while it gave me a full charge, usually enough for the rest of the day travel. I used to arrive there at 14% in summer and 9% in winter. With my new DWS06+ and further battery...

    Replacement Tires for 19" wheels

I have the same replacement tires. They are great… except efficiency. Though I don’t have 20%. At most 15%, possibly 10%, consider they are new tires and now it’s winter. Ride is noticeably smoother. If not for the discount from continental, I’d go with some low rolling resistance tires or...

    Keep phantom drain under control

I have the same issue as OP since two months ago. I also noticed that it happens every time I charge my car. i.e. if I charge the car overnight to 60%, in the morning it shows 57% and 3% drain in standby and suggesting plug in (funny this happened every time it was plugged in, if not plugged in...

19" Tire options: Continental vs Michelin?

Today’s round trip from San Bruno to Berkeley, outbound 238wh/mi (27mi, downhill and tailwind), return trip 305wh/mi, 25mi. Average 270wh/mi. Heavy traffic so speed is EV friendly. Driver profile is FSD beta average, not the most efficient driver on utilizing regen. Road is 70% dry, 30% wet...

19" Tire options: Continental vs Michelin?

The result is out. This morning same drive, I end up with 296…. This is I tried my best to feathering the pedal. One big difference I noticed is the road is wet today(also windy). The other day I got 360 on highway was also wet. I knew wet road is efficiency killer but it was not this severe...

19" Tire options: Continental vs Michelin?

Surprise surprise! Took a look after wife drove the car, 255wh/mi! That’s from picking up kid from school. That’s close to what I got on the same drive before I changed the tires. Then again she might usually do 23x before, I don’t know… I will do the same drive tomorrow so let’s see…

19" Tire options: Continental vs Michelin?

Goodyear’s EV tires have very few reviews, one person on this forum reported terrible efficiency, not sure what’s going on with them. It only works on continental.

19" Tire options: Continental vs Michelin?

I see. I live in SF Bay Area, in the last few years 95% of the time I drove in dry road with mild climate, occasionally makes a few winter trips to Tahoe but I tried to avoid big snow storms as much as I could. OE tires been fine to me and the efficiency was exceptional. This year has been...

19" Tire options: Continental vs Michelin?

Same story here. I read this forum and learned about 50% off. My OE tires were at 5/32 after 20k miles but I got a puncture near the sidewall of one tire. I contacted continental and still got 50% off (which isn’t exactly 50% when redeemed via America’s Tire or Tirerack, more like 40% of the...

Auto high beams still comically bad

If this is the meaning of working well, you may as well remove your high beam. Are you a city only driver?

Auto high beams still comically bad

Just had a trip through Death Valley. On the way out in the dark FSD Beta did not turn on high beam the whole trip. There was car in front of me at least a mile away with barely visible taillight, and completely dark road.

Most time it changes lane in the last second because it thinks it is in the correct lane until a new lane expanded or merged.

    FSD Beta 10.69

Tried an experimental feature, failed to supervise and blame it on the car. Hope you have other reason to justify the switch. Otherwise your solution is simply turning off the experimental feature.

    FSD Beta 10.69

Ah that sucks. That reminds me my first two nails was right in the middle but the tire shop (America’s tire/Discount tire) had no problem fixing them. They definitely had to tear out the foam and reattach them. The third one was also in the middle, but it’s also right next to a previous patch…...

  46. G

    FSD Beta 10.69

How unlucky you have to be to replace the tire every time hitting the nails. I consider myself pretty unlucky with 3 nails this year (and of course I lay the blame on beta), but only one required tire replacement.

    FSD Beta 10.69

It’s useless to compare customer’s FSD beta video with media person’s CNGP and NCA videos that often accompanies with an engineer from respective company on the passenger seat, and often running the same route in the Guangzhou city. I did see one end user’s comment on CNGP (without video...
