    West London one stop shop

I used 1080 London (in Battersea) for Ceramic coating and highly recommend them. For tints, I took my car to Polimax motor sport (Wimbledon), but I will never touch them with a barge pole, as I had to go back 3 times to get their shoddy workmanship rectified.

    Summon stopped working

Mine only started working about a month ago, (after some car update). I tested it just now again and it's still working...so fingers crossed it stays that way.

Tesla Service - Paint chip repair

Very nice repairs! I think in about 6 months time I would have accumulated enough chips to warrant for some touch ups like this. I wanted to ask, did you need to hand the car in to the garage, or do they carry out mobile repairs? Also, how long did it take...just that I live in London but visit...

    Summon stopped working

Same here, wheels straighten, lights on...that's about it, where as a few months back it used to work.

    Fix chips immediately or not?

2 chips? Wow you're lucky! I have at least 50, over the bonnet, front bumper, the panels under the rear doors and I have only had the car 5 months...but to be fair, I have managed to do 17,000 miles. I personally think you should try the chipex method, you can't ruin anything, as it comes with...

    Chipex for scratches!

I used the Chippex on the stone chips on my car...what I found is that as long as the chip is at a slightly lower than the main paint level and you can fill it in, it works pretty good, but if its a slight scratch and not deep enough, then when you do the stage of wipe over it with the cloth and...

parking assistance is now working anymore

I have had my car for 4 months ths, the first 2 months the Blue Park assist icon showed up all the time when I would be trying to park, but for over a month it hasn't showed up even once, so I have booked mine in for a visit to the service centre in 2 weeks time. I had booked a mobile visit, but...

    Paint Chips

"My worry is what will the car be like by the end of the 4yr PCP." My last car was a BMW 3 Series whose paint was very tough, but kid you not, after 5 years of ownership, the front black bumper looked grey, as if repeatedly shot with a small calibre shot gun! I've had my M3 for 3 months, 10k...

    Insurance UK

I live in London and my Direct Line insurance for 30k miles a year, off street parking, cost me about £1100...and I got £40 back for having FSD, but they charged me £40 when I told them I am getting Tints. I did visit Direct Line website via the Tesla, not sure if that makes any difference as...

UK to France in a M3 - Video

2 weeks back I drove from London to Wroclaw (Poland), 1014 miles (as I had to take a detour to avoid Belgium and Netherlands) and it took me 23hrs! 760 miles in this video...is it meant to be on par with a trip to the moon? :D

You call that a stone chip.......?

I have exactly the same chip on my bumper and was like what the hell caused that....straight after that I increased my FSD car distance from 2 to 3 cars, but that still doesn't help as I still see new chips left right and centre, but I also do 120 miles motorway driving a day! I bought touch up...

    Does anyone wave anymore?

I was driving in Germany over the weekend and my wife asked why that M3 driver waved at us...my response was, either he's mad or just confused me with someone else, as I never knew it was a thing...Also, this MS guy flashed lights at me in Richmond Park last month on an empty road, and my first...

New windscreen fitted - Model 3.

This was the Gatwick Service Centre, however I have just heard back from Autoglass (as below), so have booked my glass replacement and calibration from there. Its miles away from where I live, but this at least it saves me driving around from Autoglass to Tesla trying to get this sorted. "As...

New windscreen fitted - Model 3.

Some more updates about Camera Calibration: I booked a Camera Calibration with a Tesla Service Centre and they called me back with in 10mins and said, Autoglass don't know what they are talking about and I myself can simply carry out the calibration from within the car using the Camera...

Tesla 3 point charge cable waterproof?

I was looking at buying extension cables and all the other day and came across a few people talking about using one of these: Masterplug Weatherproof Box I have one of these Master Plug boxes and as a test put the Tesla mobile charger in to it, and can confirm that it fits in just fine. But as...

    Accident damaged Tesla Model 3

One thing though, considering car #3 hit car #2 (OP) and pushed it into car #1 (range rover), shouldn't car #3's insurance pay for damage to #2 (front and back)? ...and insurance company of #2 only pays for damage to #1?

New windscreen fitted - Model 3.

I just called Autoglass to tell them to fit what ever they fit by default, but at the same time I was told that they managed to get a quote for the original Tesla windscreen, so it would be £80 excess + £350 extra for the windscreen  I would imagine may be £100 on top and I could have just...

New windscreen fitted - Model 3.

I am only a bit concerned by using a autoglass provided screen because my last BMW's original windscreen was fine for 4 years, I even drove twice past 2 grit trucks and close behind cars on the motorways for about 70,0000 miles, and I didn't notice any damage to the screen, then one day it had...

New windscreen fitted - Model 3.

Could you please tell me if your new screen has all these numbers and all on it? (its a photo of my windscreen bottom corner) If its a full fledged Tesla original screen, that's brilliant and I might tell them to fit what ever they are offering.

New windscreen fitted - Model 3.

3 weeks I got a chip on my car so I called Direct Line who told me to call their AutoGlass number. I spoke to them and said I wanted an original Telsa windscreen and they said they don't fit original windscreens and said if I wanted one I would have to pay the cost difference, I agreed. That...

    Auto-Pilot - I give up, it's downright lethal

yep, same happens to me, but I have now learnt, when overtaking a truck, always keep the foot ready to press the accelerator....all I can hope is this issue gets fixed soon, as today it happened to me while driving on the M3 with empty lanes, and nothing else that should caused this!

    crack sound

Thanks for letting us know the outcome. Please do let us know if that popping sound happens again, if all good, then I might book mine in too. Hopefully you didn't have to leave your car with them and were able to hang around for a few hours while they did that?

    crack sound

Strangely, since I wrote this post, it hasn't happened! I need to keep a diary so I can figure out how long after getting in the car it happens and then once I get the rough timings, then try to record the sound and let the service centre listen to it...but as this sound is random, I think I...

    crack sound

Hi all, I have had my M3 for just over a month now and since the past few weeks I hear this really loud crack sound, like some one threw a stone at my windscreen. Directline insurance FSD and Acceleration Boost

I would suggest give them a call again and give my example, if they still don't understand (as happened with me, I was on the phone for 20 mins), then ask them to speak to the underwriting dept. (which must be UK based) and see what they have to say about it, , as opposed to customer services...

Model 3 (not so!) Long range

I have a LR, and found that taking the average of any given journey (with air con on) and travelling at about 78 mph, I automatically tend to write off a little bit more than quarter of the displayed 340 miles. So in reality out of a 340 charge, I only expect about 240 miles.

Directline insurance FSD and Acceleration Boost

I called Direct Line last night to tell them I forgot to mention I also had FSD and at first they said as the modification\upgrade was more than their allowed price bracket of £800, they have no choice but to cancel my insurance all together!!!! I had to then explain that its not a physical...

I ordered a M3 LR on the 10th of May and I thought it was being manufactured in China from scratch, but it was ready for collection on the 28th :) I am really happy to have collected a car with not a single scratch or fault, so hats off to the hardworking Chinese Tesla employees! :)
