Hi, 23 MY owner here with identical issue. Bought new module off ebay, followed directions. Got auth issue.

I bought this car from Tesla a year ago and it has always done it after I configured for auto fold and unlocked at home.

My 2018 model s mirrors auto fold as I approach garage. Within 3 hours after parking and leaving the passenger mirror (only) will auto unfold. I have no idea why it does this and would like it to not do that. Ideas?

I'm glad you asked. I looked at the Carfax sources and low and behold...source is the dealer. Lol.

So I'm talking with a dealer about 4 year old model s. Carfax says ~40k miles and this is what the dealer is listing. But the odometer on the tesla screen says ~20k miles. The vin on the screen and the Carfax matches. dealer has no idea why and is pricing the car based on the higher miles...

Thanks @domodan. I definitely will do those standard checks as well. I'm more looking to understand any common model s tesla-unique issues I should be looking for. For example, warning signs of upcoming hardware failure or questions to ask about common items that may have failed and been replaced.

I am looking to purchase a 2017 s 75 model s. Other than the fusc and unlimited data topic, what other options, defects should I look out for when inspecting the car. Btw, is there a southern California tesla inspection service/mechanic I can pay?
