Just got done with the service and they say it’s a firmware issue. The modem itself works, just have to wait until they fix the current FW stack. Yay.

I have the same problems, it’s not a router issue. I literally have to reboot the car for it to be fixed.

I realize it's supposed to make noise, I'm merely stating I personally haven't heard it in my vehicle. I've also asked family members who've been outside the vehicle when driving forward and they haven't heard anything either.

I really think the speaker only works in reverse. While driving normally at slow speeds I hear nothing.

I thought it dropped it to 4.2, interesting. I know for a fact my 1/4 mile is pretty consistent at 12.2 with AB.

I felt bad and told the wife to spend $2k on whatever. Had to make it even.

I fully intended to return it after a quick trial, instead it cost me $4k to keep.

Never thought of it this way before, but unless Tesla sells EAP standalone again you are right. That's a $6k markup if you simply want EAP, which is all I really feel I need right now.

I'm in agreement, just starting is not just Tesla. We as consumers have been taking it up the backside for years, with little recourse as to a solution.

This is rampant in businesses promising things though, not just Tesla. How many Kickstarter projects have never delivered?

@ellisina4 have you tried a different usb port in the vehicle? The center console port should be able to be used for dashcam as well IIRC. I didn't see if you had tried that yet.

AP means full self driving as well though, that is the problem with their terminology.

That would be more helpful than the current nomenclatures. People shouldn't have to do research on the differences between AP, EAP and FSD since even the manual is kind of unclear.

I'll subscribe for trips, don't need FSD as a daily option. With that said, I would pay $4k for EAP as I feel it would be a better deal for me.

If it's not too expensive I'd do a subscription to FSD. I don't necessarily believe that it would be cheaper to buy it outright as that would potentially limit a constant revenue stream. But, it's Tesla so who knows.

More data for the NN should increase the effectiveness of FSD. I'll concede that it may not, but in theory is should make it more reliable.

Paying extra for features that are standard happens all the time, it just requires them being standard. Your moon example is an apples to oranges comparison. The software required for FSD needs a ton of data to become more useable.
