Any updates to the Fremont-built Model Ys since April?

I picked mine up last Saturday. Nothing new, AFAIK.

FSD Beta Experience - Be Careful What You Wish For

The counter has been reset one time since October 2021.

    Lost access to FSD Beta

So far, they've reset the strikes once post-Safety Score. That happened about ~3 months after SS. Too few data points to say, but plausible that you'll get it back when they reset again in a month or two.

    2022 Model Y 21’’ Überturbine Wheel

Something about how this post is written does not sit right with me. Just do the normal thing and get a repair that is very close, like the rest of us? It's no big deal.

    AP/FSD related crashes

I am guessing you did not read this tweet closely. Green said that the driver *overrode* FSD to change lanes into the obstructed lane. Autopilot would have avoided it; human chose and caused it. You can do this with AP engaged using the turn signal.

Any New Updates for FSD Beta Users?

    Me too. Just got it

    Anyone else not getting 10.9?

    It will be fine. Patience!

Is anyone using Tesla’s Model Y Trunk Storage Bins?

They're nice, affordable, and practical. Easy buy.

Kicked out of the FSD Beta! (Long Post)

I find it funny how you tell me what is worth it to me. I absolutely get things that I 'objectively' benefit from out of FSD. NOA lane changes = awesome. Green light chime - nice. FSD Beta = awesome. I recently did a 8 hour road trip where the car drove 100% door-to-door both ways. It is worth...

Kicked out of the FSD Beta! (Long Post)

An easy heuristic for those wondering about the value proposition of FSD: would you pay the current price for the current capabilities? If yes, buy it. If no, don't. Anything 'coming soon' should be viewed as a bonus; certainly don't bank on it. Many would disagree, but, for me, it was well...

Kicked out of the FSD Beta! (Long Post)

It's always funny to me when people have this reaction. It's like people are totally unaware of the capabilities of FSD Beta before they try it themselves.

    2021.44.6 Question Re Supercharging Improvements

They improved the functionality of the existing feature.

    FSD Beta 10.6.1

    I have 10.6 as a non-employee. 2021.36.8.9.

Kicked out of the FSD Beta! (Long Post)

My read is that Tesla realizes that they've made it too strict and will be correcting. I would be surprised if it wasn't restored shortly.
  15. charrigan

    Lost FSD

One easy fix would be to 'undo' suspensions with each version release, e.g. if suspended on 10.5, you remain so until 10.6. A new lease on life.
  16. charrigan

    Lost FSD

Nags / AP jail does not have anything to do with how often you report issues to Tesla.

Tesla Changed FSD Beta Suspension Threshold - Only For Some Users/vehicles

    S/X have a limit of 2, 3/Y have 3. I do not know why.

    Missing USB Ports

This is Tesla, folks. Since when have they communicated about anything? Good or bad. New Ys get Bioweapons Defense mode. That's a bonus that just 'showed up'; there wasn't advanced notice. Before that, heated steering wheels, auto-dimming mirrors, etc. etc. It comes with the territory.
  19. charrigan

    Missing USB Ports

Ya'll realize that the alternative to this is no delivery at all? I'd personally rather see cars get sent out missing an honestly luxury item that can easily be added later than have them be piled up indefinitely and folks complaining about even longer delivery waits.

[Intentional Hyperbole] How FSD Beta Tried To Kill Me Today

I just worry about outsiders/media ready to pounce on any stories like this. lolz are great but not when potential fodder for misinformation.

Hyperbole like this is not good for anyone.

Refreshed 2021+ Model X and Model X Plaid waiting room

Question, and apologies, I did not read through this thread. I just placed an order for a MX this week. My account says September. I have a MY and understand how the EDD game goes. But, is that kinda the consensus on what we're looking like on that right now? 10 months? Thanks!

Panel Gap - Is this within spec?

The door pops when you push the button. That gap looks fine to me.

Has anyone received the FSD Beta software update in between rollouts?

I got 100 prior to the 100 rollout, but after the Friday data pull. It got pushed to me on Tuesday night, overnight. I got the email at about 3:30am EST.
  25. charrigan

Has anyone received the FSD Beta software update in between rollouts?

I got FSD between major rollouts, but had 100.

    New Official Illuminated Door sills

I bought it too. I have to imagine the battery will last a really long time, as it's only on when the door is open and uses LED.

    19" Model Y Gemini Wheels

These are now sold; thanks everyone.
  28. charrigan

Is anyone using Tesla’s Model Y Trunk Storage Bins?

It's a pretty obvious buy. Upgrade is minor, but actual, and the price is right.
  29. charrigan

    19" Model Y Gemini Wheels

No, sorry. I think shipping is out of the question due to cost.
  30. charrigan

    19" Model Y Gemini Wheels

I am only selling the wheels; I have another pair of Geminis that I am keeping, so I am keeping the covers.

Where in Michigan? I have family in Holland and can get them there. DM me if interested.

Acceleration Boost: delayed download, now at 24 hours and counting

After I bought mine, I thought there would be a "download", like a software update. There wasn't. I just got in the car, and the driving options were different. Bam.
  33. charrigan

    Updates

I also am vision only and just got 2021.4.21.3. Seems that all the vision cars are on this branch.

    19" Model Y Gemini Wheels

From OEM, taken off after 2,000 miles. Located in Lexington KY, willing to meet for sale. Asking $800. Wheel only, no tire/TPMS.
  36. charrigan

    Updates

It requires WiFi. You'll get a notice when an update is available. When that happens, you'll need to drive it somewhere that you can get online. Or hotspot.
  37. charrigan

    Updates

I do not believe so. It appears that the vision only cars are on a separate update track.
  38. charrigan

    Updates

AFAIK, no vision only Ys have gotten the update. Perhaps this means it'll be paired with increasing the AP max speed to 90?? :)

    FS: 19" MY Gemini Wheels

FWIW, this is wheel only; no TPMS, no tire. Lugnuts available if you want them!

21 MY Air Intake Vent Cover

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think so, based on the pictures of the new MY intake that I have seen.
  42. charrigan

Is this normal trim on the left and right back door pillars?

It's not normal, but that looks fixable yourself. The B pillar 'inside' is plastic covered with cloth on top, plastic on the bottom. It clips into the B pillar. You could make sure it is clipping in properly and use a spudger to make sure the lip of the plastic trim isn't being pinned behind it...

Will Homelink work with non-wifi/MyQ garage door openers?

It geo-locates, automatically opening the garage as you approach. It automatically closes the garage after you pull out. It de-clutters your car by removing the need for a clicker. I think that's about it.
  44. charrigan

21 MY Air Intake Vent Cover

The foam is glued. I did not remove it to apply the cover. I simply "bent" the cover to be slightly concave, then expanded it *into* the foam. The foam lip actually helps keep it in place.
  45. charrigan

Will Homelink work with non-wifi/MyQ garage door openers?

For $325, it's a pretty easy buy. A little bit upfront for a lot of 2-second life improvements later. Pretty much like all smart home integration. Do you need a Nest Thermostat? No, not really. Once you get one, do you ever want to go back to a 'dumb' one? No way.

    Biodefense mode

I mean, if you can see what Tesla says but your issue is you just don't believe it and think they're lying, it's probably not the company you should be buying anything from.
  47. charrigan

    Biodefense mode

Regular air filters work. They are not fraud. They do prevent the listed items from entering your car. HEPA filters work better. As the above articles alluded to: "HEPA, short for High Efficiency Particulate Air is a standard for air filters developed by the United States Department of Energy...
