    Tesla Model 3 2021 Accident

The crash.... just got the front angle camera footage from Tesla. Wonder why Hertz has bailed from Tesla? This incident comes in at $21,000 Canadian (so far!)

    Tesla Model 3 2021 Accident

My car was hit, on the left front side, by a woman who came at me in an intersection. She was marked at fault; the bags didn't deploy but I had the sense to hit the record button and it clearly shows the accident. The damage doesn't look bad but the repair shop came in with a bill of $21,000+...

Should my wallcharger still be broadcasting it's SSID?

It has been this way since it was installed last fall - the SSID TeslaWallConnector__XXXXXX always appears. I don't think I have the password and will have to remove the cover to find it on the label - but before I do so - should I worry about this? Reading the docs, it seems it should disappaer...

Recent heat pump failures - software issue?

Someday they won't call a software update a 'recall' but besides that - it's interesting they identify 2021.44.30.7 as the version that fixes the issue. I got that update way back on Jan 13 - and that was my second update that day! "The automaker says software update 2021.44.30.7 corrects the...

App Rate Plan - Ontario Hydro

So the Charging Costs option finally appeared in my Tesla app. It looks like we can set home charging rates - given the option of Toronto Hydro or Ontario. If I choose the latter - I'm in Guelph - I'm given the option of choosing a rate plan - HOC-R ; HOC-RS, HOC-RSTOU or HOC-RTOU - and there...

Recent heat pump failures - software issue?

No, never encounterd it, but with a 2021 M3 was expecting it to happen. So this was a bit of a relief.

Recent heat pump failures - software issue?

Just a comment on this. No issues, -17C most of the way. Did a big pre-condition before leaving.

Recent heat pump failures - software issue?

I had an update to 2022.4 last night. Don't know if this does anything to address the issue. I'll be driviing from Guelph to Collingwood area tomorrow in -17C - kind of ridiculous that I have to live in fear as to whether the car might fail or not.

Recent heat pump failures - software issue?

I'm getting an update to 2021.44.30.8 now. Release notes say it might help deal with heat issue.

Recent heat pump failures - software issue?

You might be right. I just drove from Guelph to Craigeith. -24C at the start, consistent to about -21c until coming downhill to a balmy -12C. The heat stayed fine the whole time. I preconditioned for about 30 minutes before departing in a garage. A good sign! (I won't talk about battery...

    2021 Model 3/Y Heating Issues

Well, you wouldn't hear about it from them if they hadn't heard about it. They have now heard about it, and are now in the early stages. Kind of a circular logic thing you have happening here. https://www.iphoneincanada.ca/tesla/transport-canada-investigates-tesla-model-3-y-heat-pump-failures/

Recent heat pump failures - software issue?

I got 2021.44.30 yesterday. I'm headed up to Collingwood area on Thursday for skiing, and it looks like a very cold weekend is coming up. I've got a 240v/24a charger at the chalet and will leave it plugged in and will precondition quite a bit before driving. Will post here if anything happens.

Is there a DIY fix for water in the B Pillar Cameras

My experience in Toronto is that one of the door pillar cameras is often blocked by blinding sunlight at low altitudes as we approach winter, making "FSD" (which it is not) unusable. This and camera humidity and other things make the idea of vision-based FSD a pipe dream. I paid my money...

How accurate are the estimated delivery dates for fellow Ontario people?

Mine that I found on the site was an SR3+. Same car, I just paid more for white seats and 19" wheels.

How accurate are the estimated delivery dates for fellow Ontario people?

I used this site, booked mark it with chosen filters, and hit it quickly. You have to move fast - cars often disappeaer within mintues. $100 to reserve. You lose your original $100 on your original order. https://tesla-info.com/
  31. O

How accurate are the estimated delivery dates for fellow Ontario people?

Not accurate at all. Mine bounced around every 2-3 days. I also tracked available inventory via one of the online tools. I saw a model come up in my area, but with better wheels and white seats. I paid the $100 to grab it, and paid for the upgrade. Better than waiting. If you want it sooner...

What's with the trucks? FSD version 2021.36.5.5

    Winter Tire Setting

Hi all, I had a set of non-Tesla store winter tires installed - 18" instead of the 19" wheels I have. What setting would you choose for this? There seem to be no options other than the pre-defined Tesla options.

What's with the trucks? FSD version 2021.36.5.5

I'm in Canada, so have limited FSD. I was using Autopilot on a 2 lane road. Several times, while trucks were approaching from the other direction, the car would suddenly slow. Like, really slwo. One time it did so, quite violently, and disengaged. There was no report in the car of the...

Experience with charging on 120V outlet in winter

You could do it. Like others have said, you'll get stressed with potential range anxiety. When you have a big charge and it's telling you 24 hours to fill, you'll be stressed. Don't let this hold you back though; you've got lots of charging around you. That's why they put Netflix in the car...

    Tesla Wall Charger - Whoah!

What Gulag said - SR+ is limited. 200 amp panel was needed for the main panel with a sub panel out to the garage. The old 100 amp was too full (big house). Plus, the garage panel will also be supporting a pool pump etc when they go in next year.
  44. O

    Tesla Wall Charger - Whoah!

Due to labor and material issues (what else is new) my upgrade to a 200amp panel was delayed. It finally happened, though, and I've gone from charging at 9km/hr to 56km/hr at home. Whoah! That's some serious charging!
