Original pickup date was last Wednesday (11/24)...for some reason the car is still in Fremont, not leaving the factory. Pretty weird. Every day they say it's on it's way, and every day it doesn't move. Strange times!

Any idea how long you can hang on to the check? The loan is active in my DCU account; if I release a VIN and have to wait 2 months, what happens then I wonder?

So DCU sent out cashier's check with the VIN # on it (rather than the RN ). Does anyone know what happens if my VIN changes (if I reject it, hold out for NF, etc)? Do they need to send a new check, or can I can just draw a line through it and write the new # or RN?

See, how. an a NF459 be delivered tomorrow, but my MF456 is delayed due to "inspection affecting all other Model S's". Something kept this vehicle in Fremont for another 3-4 weeks while others left....

They also just cancelled my pickup, and moved the EDD back a week to I guess remove further frustration. Their explanation is that all Model S's are delayed due to the volume they're producing. The fact that newer builds (those with higher VIN's and NF VINs ) are being delivered makes me wonder...

Yep, was on an earlier order that someone else had turned down. My delivery window was Sep-Oct at that time, so I just said I'd wait till then. Still, it's just a couple of months, and if I end up with a 2022 VIN that'll pay off for resale later on.

2/3-3/3/2022....so that makes kind of zero sense. Same car, same order date, Vegas (which is basically SoCal-North). The only fly in the ointment: way back in June at EOQ they offered me a car super early, and I wasn't ready to take it. I wonder if that somehow pushed me to the back of the line.

Mine says that now as well. Maybe they're trying to forestall all of our SA calls/texts/emails. Really does seem like there is some sort of batch production logic (Midwest, Northeast, etc) that supersedes purely going by order date (btw, we have identical config, RN, and order date!).
