Is the HEPA filter used all the time?

Maybe they “tried” to fix this via software, but I saw a series by a guy where he did some extensive HVAC testing (including buying an entire assembly to test outside of the vehicle) and he noted that the very “fix” you’re speaking of…might actually be a “cause” for some of the mold/mildew/stink...

Road debris damaged front fender, valance, horn

I know this is an ancient thread, but I’ve got the almost exact same situation but on the passenger side of the vehicle on my 2023 MYP. I’ve got mobile service scheduled for next Tuesday and a quote of around $870 to to replace parts/repair…

Fftermarket heated steering wheel effectiveness compared to OEM

Can't speak for everyone, but mine gets just as hot as the OEM wheel and the heating seems pretty well distributed throughout the yoke when I've got it on.

Charged up here this morning without issue. This is a welcome location to hopefully take some of the load off of the other Irving location in Cypress Waters (that place is a madhouse half of the time I've been there...)

Discussion: Experiences Renting a Tesla Model 3 / Y from various companies

I've had life insurance for over 25 years and haven't needed it yet...LOL Just kidding...kinda. Really, the point of 'em for me is very similar to insurance. Do I "need" them all the time? Surely not...but when you do NEED one...then you're going to REALLY NEED one, and I'd rather it be there...

    Homelink retrofit install failure

When I purchased Homelink for my old 2021 MY7LR the process worked exactly like that. I got the shipment sent to my house and scheduled a mobile tech, who came out and did the installation. However, for the 2023 MYP I just picked up in December, it seemed that they had the homelink on-hand at...

I was always under the impression that double wishbone suspensions always meant a tradeoff in turning radius...not necessarily the AWD aspect.

Getting highland vented/cooled seats for the model Y

I'm sure plenty have already thought about doing it, however, I'm sure Tesla won't make it "easy" in any way knowing them. For one, I'd be absolutely shocked if they'd just work with the built-in HVAC controls out of the box. Two, I'm sure they'd never go for it because they'd hide behind some...

In the future when my battery needs replacement, will they use the new tech?

Yep... And IMHO, the only "real" chance for anyone having a different experience would be for another more "enlightened" producer to come in and give them "real" competition. Even then though, Tesla is likely to combat such an occurrence with intransigence and obstinance. It's in their DNA and...

Supercharger - Irving, TX - Story Rd

When my daughter and I stopped by at the PJ's Coffee right there the other day, there were workers out there with just about every pedestal opened up. Maybe it's getting "close" to opening. I hope so...it'll certainly be used by me! LOL

    Wrong outside temp reading

This has been my experience as well, but I’ll be honest…I never noticed it behaving this way until the last few updates. Prior to this, it was always fairly quick to update in my experience.

Cold weather trip; Considering avoiding Nav directly to SC to avoid preconditioning

That's likely excellent advice and I can certainly see how someone not paying attention could be easily bitten by that. I can't speak for everyone, but myself, I don't discount the needs or benefits of preconditioning. My only concerns are those that I've stated. One, it's a process that has NOT...

Cold weather trip; Considering avoiding Nav directly to SC to avoid preconditioning

The BMS heats the battery at the SC if need be. Unlike the preconditioning behavior during navigation/driving, this is clearly shown and explained directly by the car itself during charging sessions.

    Camera blinded/degraded warnings at night

Yet another ding against the “we can do everything with vision only”-BS… I get this everytime now when I drive over to visit my father on the rural highways/roads out in East Texas. I even put in a service ticket for it and they just pushed the latest update to my car and asked me to “try it...

Cold weather trip; Considering avoiding Nav directly to SC to avoid preconditioning

I'm not saying it doesn't "have its place" and insinuating that I am is a misconstruing of ideas. What I AM saying is the whole process is nebulous, sometimes mind-boggling, and also easily manipulated...even in manners that would allow for easy plausible deniability. Maybe it's the cynic in me...

Vendor Teslogic — Mobile Instrument Cluster for Tesla Model 3/Y

Chiming in too... Just got my Teslogic V2 in the mail just a bit ago. Easy peasy install and had it up and running in easily less than 15 minutes (I'd already installed the iOS app). Love it so far, and looking forward to using the kickdown.

Cold weather trip; Considering avoiding Nav directly to SC to avoid preconditioning

I think "preconditioning" is the single point where there could be some serious "monkey business" going on with Teslas...especially since SCs are no longer at-cost or loss leaders and are and/or are becoming an ever-increasing source of income for the company. Not saying that theyr'e certainly...

Phone Key Not Working Well Anymore

What year/model is your Y? I had similar behavior when my 12v was just about to bite the dust, and in fact, in hindsight, it was the only semi-warning I had before it completely died...other than this behavior I had ZERO warning before it just went kaput.

Is it just me, or are the charging time estimates during multistop nav trips whacko?

I'm not trying to completely bang on Tesla or anything...I think other makes/models have similar "issues" or worse... It's just that I'd hope that things for Tesla would "improve" and not instead be backsliding. I've only got around 1700 miles on the 2023 MYP that I traded my 2021 LR7 + AB in...

Is it just me, or are the charging time estimates during multistop nav trips whacko?

Glad to see I’m not losing my mind, because I swear I don’t remember it behaving this way before. Additionally, I forgot to include another quibble of mine. While, I certainly do “get” the whole precondition for battery-bit…this “behavior” is also completely jacked up… I’ve seen the...

Is it just me, or are the charging time estimates during multistop nav trips whacko?

I've typically never had an issue before, but now when I have a trip plotted out in the nav the charging estimated time remaining is practically useless. Number one, it only originally gives me the "time to continue trip", but if I want to charge beyond this point it used to instantly change to...

Discussion: Experiences Renting a Tesla Model 3 / Y from various companies

I think in addition to people actively choosing Teslas or other EVs ahead of time, there are also significant numbers who simply walk into the line of cars and see something like a choice between a Kia Soul and a M3 or MY…and just happen to end up in a EV. THOSE are the ones that end up with...

Discussion: Experiences Renting a Tesla Model 3 / Y from various companies

My old school boss just rented a Model Y on a recent business trip and the lack of instruction/aid definitely only further ingrained his already negative preconceptions of driving an EV. It's too bad, because it's an excellent opportunity to get non-EV drivers introduced if done...

    Aodhan AFF7's on Model Y's

I don't know how anyone gets that kind of efficiency from a MYP without driving like if someone raised my late grandmother from her grave and plopped her in the driver's seat and then threatened her with her second life to stay off of anything that resembled a Texas freeway/highway. I figure...

    Windshield wiper automatically turn on.

I don't know if even bug splat or other window "decoration" is the ONLY reason for this stuff... There is an on-ramp around my house where I can consistently trigger the wipers on EVERY bright and sunny day. It's completely weird, nonsensical, and idiotic...but it is also entirely consistent...

USB Flash Drive for audio not recognized

Install yoke steering wheel on Model Y - Need help

Yeah... When I put my yoke in, I had the exact same issue. Bioweapon mode experience - how often do you all use it?

To me, the best thing about the Bioweapon junk is simply the redesigned intake that "might" prevent at least a little water/moisture intrusion into the system. I still don't think it's "perfect", but it's a definite improvement over the original intake design. All that being said, I have...

Comfort Suspension Not Much of an Improvement

I just traded in our old 21 MYLR 7-Seater w/Inductions on a new 23 MYP and I think the ride is much better in the MYP vs the old car. I was sort of surprised at this, because after all the handwringing I'd heard about the Ubers being a smoking pile, I really expected the worst...but was...

Anyone switching to a Rivian R1T after watching reviews?

I've been seriously considering hedging my bets on the CT with an R1T, but even with the recent pricing fiasco...the charging is what most stops me. I just can't believe that their max charge rate is so slow. It really makes it almost a complete non-starter for anyone even slightly considering...

Your wait time may be even longer. Hertz ordered 100,000 Teslas

I’m guessing these are all going to be LFP SR models? I’d imagine that’d work better for them because it wouldn’t hurt them so much to sit at 100% SOC like they’ll certainly do on many occasions…

Homelink usefullness vs regular garage door opener

I agree with the possible interference and reception issues. I have none of the sort personally, and it also ALWAYS closes as I depart driving forward out of my garage. If it didn’t work well for me, then I’d be upset too…but mine works fine.

Homelink usefullness vs regular garage door opener

I back into my garage exclusively and it works just fine. I don’t have a clue why anyone would believe it wouldn’t… ok…I “guess” if you’ve got a 1 mile long driveway and like to back in down it, then it might not be oriented in a way that would open it as you approach the geofence, but if you...

Homelink usefullness vs regular garage door opener

I’ve yet to regret just springing for the homelink. Is it overpriced and a ridiculous solution to a “first world problem”? Yes, but what isn’t on a Tesla? All that said, it works exactly like they say it should and I admit to smiling a bit everytime it “just works” without my lazy posterior...
