    Dashboard silver trim marked

Has anyone had tarnish or stains on the silver strip on the wood dash? I’m not even sure if it’s metal or plastic but mine has a couple of faint stains on the passenger side. I’ve tried wiping it with a damp cloth but that didn’t do anything. I don’t want to try anything too powerful like metal...

Indeed. I wonder how they intend to resolve it.

M3 been in bodyshop for 5+ months - both batteries dead

They replaced the bumper which was not bad time wise considering they took the car last Tuesday and I received it back today. It was actually ready to come back yesterday but I wanted it delivered via a loader rather than them driving it to me. Unfortunately it has to go right back next week as...

Service mode - What does it do/limit?

Was just wondering if it disabled the GPS tracking at the time I posted.

Service mode - What does it do/limit?

Not sure that post you linked to is true. The app showed me it’s location at the body shop until today when it changed. As you say though, I’m sure they have better cars to go for a jolly in. They’re a Lamborghini crash repair centre so I doubt they’ll be excited by another Tesla!

Service mode - What does it do/limit?

Unfortunately that is disabled when in Service Mode.

Service mode - What does it do/limit?

Thats the strange thing, the mileage hasn't really changed (its less than a mile difference but that will be from loading/unloading from the transporter, etc). The location the app claims its at is 3 miles away from the body shop.

I would if it wasn't 1.5 hour drive each way!

Service mode - What does it do/limit?

My car went in to Mitchell Inglis last Tuesday for a bumper repair. Since then, it's been in Service Mode. The estimate they gave me on their website is that the repair should be completed this Wednesday. I have integrations with my car and Home Assistant so can see its status and various other...

M3 been in bodyshop for 5+ months - both batteries dead

Well the repair completion date shown on the web page they sent me is this Wednesday (7 working days). I did ask if the bumper was being repaired or replaced via their progress website but no response!

Premium Connectivity and Spotify is a joke

The maps issue is an issue Tesla are aware of. I raised a service call about it back at the start of April. They claim its an issue between EE (or was it 3) and Google and working with them to fix it.

Car damaged by another driver right before renewal time

My car is in with a Tesla approved repair centre and they have put the car in Service mode. All I did was turn off Pin to drive and gave them a key card.

Car damaged by another driver right before renewal time

My car went away today to get repaired. I declined the offer of a courtesy car as I can use my wifes car when I need to and it would be unnecessary expense for the insurance.

M3 been in bodyshop for 5+ months - both batteries dead

Same. My car is being collected tomorrow for minor rear bumper damage (5mph bump) and going to Mitchell Inglis in Glasgow. I'm hoping its a repair rather than a replacement thats needed.

Car damaged by another driver right before renewal time

If it was me, I would have dealt with the 3rd party insurer direct for the reasons above. If you claim via your own insurance, you may have to pay your no claims and wait on them recovering the cost to get it back. I've dealt with these claim management companies before. They charge Dick Turpin...

    Octopus Go (SCAM) ??

In my case, turns out my previous supplier sent a final electric meter reading of 0 to Octopus. Even though they then used the correct final meter reading when generating my final bill for them! Octopus have raised a dispute with them on this so in the meantime I’ve just to pay a fixed monthly...

    Octopus Go (SCAM) ??

I contacted Octopus today about missing bills. I joined Octopus on 28th Dec 2021 and switched to Go on the 25th Jan 2022. They are obviously updating my account since contacting them via Twitter (emails got me nowhere!) as I now have transactions which bring my balance into a debit of £769...

Where is everyone getting their PCP from?

I used my bank, Lloyds who offer a PCP option. I believe the other Lloyds group banks, Halifax, Bank of Scotland, etc also offer it. Only slight stressful moment I had was when the bank sent payment to Tesla. They insisted they use the registration number and my surname as the payment reference...

    Tesla Parts Warranty

So last October, I changed the 18” Aero wheels on my 71 plate car for replica 19” Sports wheels from Greendrive. When the tyres were fitted by ATS, the guy also fitted the Tesla TPMS sensors I had bought directly from Tesla. A couple of days ago a warning popped up saying there was a TPMS error...

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

I have a Solis inverter with a datalogger I setup myself (installer was too expensive!). I’ve had one issue since it was setup at the end of last year. I think I fixed that by resetting the datalogger. I also find that sometimes the datalogger is working but the Solis cloud website reports...

    HyperVolt Charge Points [megathread]

I have an intermittent issue unplugging my HyperVolt charger from the car. It appears to be worse on cold days. I know there was an issue with tolerances on the charging cables with some Tesla Model 3s and mine was in the time period they suggested but at the time, my charger was fine. On...

Have you had a Model 3 LR delivered in the last 4-6 weeks/Q3?

I've never had my car charged up to 100%! I'm at 80% currently and Teslamate reckons my current range is 267 miles.

Have you had a Model 3 LR delivered in the last 4-6 weeks/Q3?

How can you even tell which you have? I received my car at the start of Sept, however it was built in July I think so likely I have a 77kWh battery.

White "smoke" coming from car while Supercharging

When my 2021 Model 3 was in the SC last week getting a couple of rattles sorted, they also carried out the following which I never asked for, they just told me they would do this while they had my car.

    Bulb EV Tariff

Once my smart meters are sorted, I’ll be looking to switch to an “EV tariff”. I did consider the Bulb one. I’m not currently a customer of theirs (switched from them about a year ago), I’m wondering if they will allow me to switch to them and then go on their EV tariff?

    Octopus Smart Meter Experiences

Try being stuck with incompetent installers that can't get both gas/elec meters working, they fix one, break the other etc. I could have been on Octopus Go before all the price rises kicked in if it wasn't for incompetent installers. I'm now stuck paying a high flat rate.

    Auto Wipers are awful

My feedback above was during the day. Maybe it’s the angle of the screen meaning the sensor doesn’t get covered in as much rain as the rest of the windscreen.

    Auto Wipers are awful

While I've only had my car for around 6 weeks, I never really had an issue with the auto wipers, until yesterday! Driving in heavy rain on the motorway, they just didn't come on frequent enough to keep good visibility. I had to set them to II/III and only switched them back to Auto when the rain...

Rattling noise from the passenger side

Had my car into the Edinburgh SC today for the rattle. Took the guy on a test drive and he could hear it, said it sounded like the front passenger door card. I told him there was a similar sound on the drivers side so he went out with another Tesla engineer to see if they could locate that...

The newer TPMS use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) so your old TPMS won’t work in your 2021 model. The new sensors are £79 each from Tesla.

Made in China Model 3: Build Quality / Hardware Differences

How do you find your build date? I understand you can't decipher it from the VIN and the sticker I have on the inside of my passenger door appears different from those online. I'm assuming my car wasn't built in week 46 of 2007! :D
