    The sound . . .

Recently I was reviewing the information about the sounds our cars make. Most obvious is the UFO whine in reverse. However, the sound the car is supposed to make when moving forward, I’m not hearing it! Recently we were very carefully driving into a parking lot full of people aimlessly walking...

    Best touch up paint.

Tesla’s kit is very poor. I’ve been contradicted about Dr Color Chip. Is there any consensus on this? Thanks!

What the hell is the car doing?

Our M3 is a busy car. It’s doing “stuff” while just sitting in the garage, not even plugged in. I’ll confess, I don’t know the details of how the Tesla works other than how to operate it safely. I’m an ICE guy, and pistons and petrol is my game. But at least I know what’s happening with my 124...

Firmware update added noises when changing gears, dont like it!

So a couple of days ago we’re backing out of the garage and the car is making noises when changing P to R and D. Evidently this resulted from the “update” earlier in the week. We’ve done just fine without this stupidity up until now, and fortunately it wasn’t to hard to whack. I’m under the...

    All wheel drive?

Our M3 is a 2021 dual motor long range. It was described as “all wheel drive”, and I took that to mean full-time awd, like a Subaru. Now I have heard it is not. When is it in AWD? I’d assume if it’s not full-time, it would detect poor traction and enable it, but I have not come across any...

My M3 is gone from the Tesla Ap!

I have been gone for a month. I had very poor internet access and upon returning the M3 is gone from my Tesla ap. It’s as if I never had the car! It appears that it’s expecting that I just acquired a new car. Fortunately I can operate the car with my card, but WTF has happened? Is it due to the...

The M3 as a space heater [climate control running while parked]

We live in Central Texas and just moved our potted plumerias into the garage where they will keep company with the M3. I know the Tesla maintains an optimal temperature for the batteries and noticed that the garage was way warmer than expected considering the wimpy space heater i was running at...

Steering assist turned off! [due to road construction]

We have a lot of road work in the area and the pavement is a mix of original, new, and a slew of bump spots and added stripes over the original lane markings. The Assistant became very confused and resisted properly navigating the road. The wife was very upset about this considering the hazard...

Charging at home [what are typical charging speeds?]

I had the Tesla charger installed and we’re having no problems with charging the M3. It charges at about 43 miles per hour and reports pulling 48 amps. I was wondering if this is typical for the circumstances. What are other people experiencing? We don’t know anyone else with a Tesla
