Even at the service center delivery today they came over and told me to accept delivery on the site, log out and back into the Tesla app, said congratulations, and walked off. They were there if I had questions or issues but otherwise it was a pretty unceremonious experience 😂

After a seemingly never ending 3 months, today was the day! My friend (his M3P in the back) and I thoroughly inspected everything and it’s basically perfect. I’m going to have the rear door handles adjusted, but otherwise very happy with how it turned out. Definitely worth the wait! 🙂

I'm also in Texas and Tesla told me the insurance won't have any impact on delivery. A lot of states require the actual Tesla VIN on the policy, which you obviously wouldn't have yet.

If it's only a grand difference it's definitely not worth it. For me it was about a $4k difference even after taking $1,000 off for a quicker sale (1st guy to test drive it by the way).

Sounds about right! I’m in Austin and ended up with a 12 day window after VIN assignment. VIN received on 8/13 and delivery scheduled on 8/25. You should be getting your car soon! 🙂

You can reach out to your closest showroom/delivery center and have one assigned. I had one assigned after my test drive, but if you just order online it doesn't appear to be automatic.

Wow, that's a quick turnaround! A friend of mine ordered a performance earlier in the year and was offered delivery 3 days later! So maybe you got lucky :)

You'll get the prompt to make final payment arrangements once you're eligible to schedule delivery. I received my VIN on the 13th and delivery scheduling/final payment request on the 17th.

I believe it's open, but I'm guessing they may just be booked up with appointments. We have a showroom at the Domain and the service/delivery center is just a few miles from there. If anything I would think they'd be opening more service centers given all the vehicles being manufactured here soon.

I paid right after scheduling delivery. For Texas residents keep in mind you'll need to pay sales tax when you register (6.25%), and I believe you need to do that within 30 days even though the temp tags are good for 60 days.

Similar situation here. VIN on 8/13 (5/27 order) and Estimated Delivery: August 19 - August 25 Not able to fund or schedule delivery, but an Austin showroom advisor said I should have it around the 23rd. Maybe we’ll take delivery on the same day 🐿

Congrats! 46 days is pretty short in the grand scheme of things. By the time I get mine it will be almost exactly 90 (original estimate was 7-11 weeks on 5/27). Love the red by the way! 🏎

Seems like you should have it in the week or so! Mine shortened by one day at a time and had an 8 day window yesterday before getting the VIN this morning. Lots of VINs coming in this month! 🐿
