    Supercharger - Henryetta, OK

It may be possible that ODOT hasn't released the NEVI award funding yet (or they haven't granted the winners permission to proceed yet). We have a lot of news stories on the funds getting awarded and I did personally see the vote pass committee but the official EVOK website still hasn't been...

    Supercharger - Henryetta, OK

No new Superchargers in Tulsa to my knowledge but out east there is a pretty much brand new Electrify America at the Target in Broken Arrow if you have a CCS adapter. It was built with their new Signet units which I've had pretty good luck with. I use them on my way back from Muskogee...

    Supercharger - Henryetta, OK

The Catoosa Supercharger is being expanded with the NEVI Funds. There are (8) V2 Superchargers today. NEVI Funds will add (12) new Magic Dock equipped V4 Supercharger stalls making the grand total 20 chargers in Catoosa. The Oklahoma City NEVI winning location is a new one on Bell Isle...

    Supercharger - Alma, AR

I've wondered this too. I think all NEVI Superchargers have to be V4 to meet NEVI requirements for a credit card reader and CCS1 plugs.

    Supercharger - Henryetta, OK

ODOT just voted on and approved NEVI funding at today’s commission meeting. Hopefully we see some quick movement from Tesla as well as Love’s for their stations. Edit: Also for anyone interested, someone on Reddit found the equipment Love’s will be using for their NEVI sites (at least in...

    Supercharger - Branson, MO (speculation)

For those who have CCS or Chademo adapters, Francis just opened a DC station nearby with (2) chargers. They are SK Signet "150kW" units and the CCS side has 300 amp cables so most Teslas can get around 115kW max but the big highlight for me compared to previous Francis chargers is these Signet...

Ford Announcement appears to indicate Full access to Supercharger Network (including V2) as a part of an expanded NACS agreement

This is what I’m thinking. Ford may have helped finance a CCS protocol upgrade to V2s in exchange for access.

Ford Announcement appears to indicate Full access to Supercharger Network (including V2) as a part of an expanded NACS agreement

This is a possibility and I’ve seen it happen here in Tulsa where a V3 was added in another part of town but if you look at the Ford map they show both V2 (Hard Rock) and V3 (Tulsa Hills) Tulsa charging locations. So in order to offer V3+ service at the Hard Rock location, another V3 location...

Ford Announcement appears to indicate Full access to Supercharger Network (including V2) as a part of an expanded NACS agreement

I saw this Electrek article where Ford announced an expansion of access to superchargers from a total of 12,000 chargers to 15,000. They also released a map GIF showing which Superchargers they would have access to (dark blue dots) and I noticed it includes many V2 Supercharger locations. I...

    Supercharger - Henryetta, OK

I'm still holding out hope since the site has a quarter assigned. We've also seen sites pop-up under construction or complete with no one finding that site's permit before. When the maps get refreshed this week we will know more. For those that haven't voted yet, please vote for the Branson...

Supercharger - Oklahoma City, OK - NE 36th St

My guess is the Universal Wall Connectors aren't available in large numbers yet. This install probably got its parts put together for shipping just before they became widely available. I don't think we can buy them as consumers yet. When the V3 Superchargers were announced we still had quite a...

Tesla making HUGE mistake with Superchargers

I'm not sure why you and everyone else seems to be saying this. There are plenty of V2 Superchargers that are open to non-Teslas in Europe. The technology is definitely there to allow for it. If you want an example, I was clicking around London on the map and Uxbridge, (which is a V2 location)...

Supercharger - Oklahoma City, OK - NE 36th St

I figured there would be more than the previous permitted 8 Stall. I recall rumors of even more chargers coming in the Facebook group. This should be a big help for alleviating congestion

    CCS Retrofit Availability (2023)

Yeah, I chose to take that bull by the horns by upgrading the ECU myself and importing a Korean CCS1 adapter. It was definitely an annoyance but i've made back what I spent in the form of free EA charging when they had payment system troubles last year 😆

    Supercharger - Tulsa, OK

Unless all of the region agrees to vote on it, we’ll just lose to a site in Florida or California that’s just barely, slightly, marginally more convenient for the owners in those areas again. It’s hard to overcome all the owners in those states and the voting is based solely on raw numbers not...

    Vote for a Supercharger location

Yeah, after all the effort to get votes for Branson, MO we get to see it lose in favor of a bunch of Florida chargers in already well served areas and to add insult to injury see it disappear on the map entirely (again!!!). It feels like a pretty raw deal. I feel like the central states need to...

    General safety thoughts at Superchargers

If I have the option, I tend to choose chargers in safer areas (near other reputable businesses in a well lit lot or at a Travel Plaza) that are ideally busier chargers (safety in numbers) and not travel long distances alone. I've definitely ran into some weird people in some spots and...

    Supercharger - Tulsa, OK

What’s changed is the “Q4” part. Historically it’s been target opening in “current year +1” with no quarter listed but since late last year it’s been given the specific timeframe of fourth quarter 2023 and it’s remained so through today. If you look around at other chargers on their map (like...

    Supercharger - Tulsa, OK

Hopefully adding capacity in OKC doesn't take another 6 years! We've also got Henryetta on the schedule for this year so hopefully that further serves to end the trend. Edit: I also tested the chargers this morning and they seemed to be working fine. I wasn't the only one there either.

    Supercharger - Tulsa, OK

Drove by after work and saw a tech in a black Model Y and another in a Model 3 working on the cabinets. I also saw what looked to be a transformer down the hill with a bunch of dirt/mud dug up so hopefully we're close. My wild guess is they have grid power and are provisioning the chargers.

Pi day (3/14) update: There was a crew cleaning up the site and doing some wiring work. The big concrete pad is still missing its hardware (big transformer?).

    Supercharger - Tulsa, OK

There is a small green transformer on the ground as of yesterday when I drove by but there was also a larger concrete pad with exposed conduit that was unfinished. I'm guessing based on size that the transformer that is there is a small one for auxilary control power and a larger transformer is...

Tesla belatedly tries to make their connector a North American standard

I’m sure EV-Go will be among the first to add the NACS plug to their chargers but do you all think they’ll add them to the Pilot Flying J EV-Go Extend chargers? Given they’re being built with GM funding I kind of doubt it but then again Pilot may want that to drive more traffic through Tesla’s...

    Supercharger - Tulsa, OK

I’ve been keeping an eye on a dumpster where I guessed these chargers might be going and spotted two “All R Electric” electrician vans parked right next to it. There was a mall cop parked near them so I couldn’t get a picture of the two electrician vans but here is an old pic of the area if...

What's going on with Francis Energy?

I’m getting a little concerned to be honest. They don’t seem to be repairing any of their broken chargers, at least nothing I’ve noticed for a few months. They also haven’t been replying to my emails 😬

GM partners with Pilot to install chargers at up to 500 travel centers nationwide

I don’t believe this is funded by the Infrastructure bill (rather by GM and Pilot). Have you seen somewhere that says it is?

GM partners with Pilot to install chargers at up to 500 travel centers nationwide

How could they when funding is awarded on the state level and states still havent released any infrastructure bill RFPs yet?

Wow, so I guess these units can charge two cars at once?
  41. lynyrdM

GM partners with Pilot to install chargers at up to 500 travel centers nationwide

This is brilliant and it’s not even taking up any infrastructure bill funds (making for a massive amount of combined available infrastructure). I was wondering what GM was thinking in investing in EV-Go while they said their deployments will only be in cities. This is a much appreciated change...

Well how about that, BTCPower figured out how to make a 500 amp charger! Hopefully, these will be more reliable than the Francis BTCPower chargers.

    Electrify America general discussion

Francis has a station (Antlers, OK) with two BTCPower high powered chargers (like EA uses) which have been down for almost a year. I don’t know that parts availability is the reason but I wouldn’t doubt that it’s that along with prioritizing repairs on other chargers. These chargers need to be...

    Electrify America general discussion

They’re certainly not perfect but for me as a guy who has a CCS1 adapter, I just have to open the app, select the charger, swipe to start, connect the adapter to the cable then plug in. That process takes me all of minute or less. Yes it should be more standardized and not require an app. I...

Biden administration wants to standardize electric vehicle charging, like gas stations

Yeah, I was using some Chargepoint units in Edmond a little bit ago and only pulled 24kW even though they were 200 Amp stations (should see around 70-80kW). Interesting to hear about the filters. Maybe that’s what Francis needs to be working on.
  47. lynyrdM

Biden administration wants to standardize electric vehicle charging, like gas stations

Yeah, BTC straight up sucks. It seems like many of those high power units are starting to see their liquid cooling fail since they’re only letting us pull 50kW. I’m glad Francis had back-up 100kW units (200Amp) that don’t use liquid cooling but BTC should have designed these things better...

Biden administration wants to standardize electric vehicle charging, like gas stations

I couldn’t disagree more. Francis Energy in my state built out many more stations than grants covered. They are promoting the transition to EVs and I know from talking to them that they would love to support Tesla’s plug. They even offered Chademo adapters for a while at some chargers before...
  49. lynyrdM

    Electrify America general discussion

Honestly I’m surprised it isn’t worse. In Oklahoma we have probably around 60% up time with our DC fast chargers. Francis has had to build many more chargers as redundant back-ups to make up for the lack of reliability with BTCPower chargers. It’s shameful that these CCS Charger manufacturers...
