Did you know the 3 heats the battery (actively) constantly while DC charging at any speed or temp?

That is not my experience, that depends on the exterior temperature. When it was warmer, battery heating started about 48% SOC, but if exterior temperature is about 8C (46.4F) then warming up can start as soon as 40% SOC. It is interesting that this that not seem to depend on the battery...

    Charging with solar panels

The charging session stops when there is no PV energy and resumes by itself when sun is back. Red is energy consumed, blue is PV generation, green is injection to the grid and orange is energy taken from the grid.

    Charging with solar panels

Some chargers have the ability to charge only with solar energy (e.g. Wallbox Pulsar Plus with Carlo Gabazzi meter, which is the one I have). On a cloudy day the charger can stop and start the charge, as well as scale the amps up and down, a bunch of times. I include a screenshot of what happens...

How hot should the batteries get while charging?

You can enter service mode anytime, just press for a few seconds "model 3" under the software menu and use the password "service" (without quotes). Then, under the service settings, you can deactivate battery heating. I don't know to what extent this could void your warranty, use at your own risk.

    DC 50 kW charging

A problem that some people say that the 50 kW DC chargers have is that the car is too long charging at high temperature. It seems that the problem is that the car is preparing for supercharging when in fact it is no such thing. I would like to use these chargers because I have a promotion that...

When autopilot avoids an accident, even using the wheel to move the car to another lane, is it the basic autopilot or AEP/FSD?

Doubt on battery and solar panels

Hi, I have a model 3 LR that I would like to charge with solar panels. The charger is able to intelligently use surplus output, but I'm afraid that will be bad for the battery. In the car manual the first and most important thing it says about battery care is to keep the car plugged in when...

Doubts on LR made in US or made in China decision

Hi, I was expecting an M3 LR AWD in Madrid (Spain) in November, but Tesla has changed my order by offering a Chinese made one instead. It has 5 kWh less battery, will be delivered in the first half of September and costs €2,000 less. The batteries seem to be LG instead of Panasonic, according to...
