I was supposed to get the MS delivered on Sunday, Nov 21st. I called the Tesla SA and he told me that the factory software update has not been released as of noon time today. The delivery date is being tentatively pushed back to Tuesday. Some major safety update before they can release the new MS.

That is what I thought too. It is a 2021 VIN. I don't know what he meant by 2022 "manufactured vehicle".

I just got an update from my SA. I booked MS White, cream, 19in wheels on April 30, 2020. RN11488. Got VIN 5YJSA1E56MF454XXX on Nov 2. EDD is from Nov 12 to Nov 18. The vehicle completed production on 11/2/2021. The SC says this is a 2022 vehicle as any Tesla vehicle manufactured after Nov 1...

I just checked the Tesla Insurance and in my case, I find that Allstate has higher coverage for a lower price.

To the best of my knowledge all deliveries so far are 2021 model. They were all made before September 30th. Cars made as of October 1st might be 2022 models.

May be the MY was manufactured prior to Sep 30th and is being delivered now. I guess for it to be 2022 model it has to be made in October.

Very nice. I like the original thought you put in deciphering the Tesla EDD protocol. I wish they had a policy of only hiring either left-handed or right-handed pizza makers that will eliminate half of the problem we face.

I would take delivery of the Y and sell the MS. You are getting a good resale price on your current MS. The new Y will be better than your current S on range and everything else.

I think MS is the way to go as you have the $10,000 price advantage. You can sell the car in a couple of years and still get what you paid for. MS has a longer range too. No comparison on performance
